Had a serious situation happen and Preferred Towing was out in less than 30 minutes. Their equipment was clean and robust for the heavy job. They completed the lift in no time, with state-of-the-art equipment and did not leave a scratch on the vehicle. Jake in the office is top notch as well. What an amazing group of folks at Preferred. I am writing to express my strong dissatisfaction with a recent towing experience provided by Preferred towing Inc.
One of our trucks broke down at the border, and when the towing team arrived, the individual was extremely rude and unprofessional. He is absolutely unfit of this type of job. They removed the shaft for towing but refused to fix it back afterward. Furthermore, we were charged an exorbitant amount of $980 USD for a 5-mile tow.Even they refused to drop it to the nearest work.
Based on this experience, I absolutely cannot recommend this towing team.
I had a flat tire today just barely into my drive home, and it completely caught me off guard. I’ve never had a flat before, had no idea how to change it, and I wasn’t positive I even had a spare. I had just passed the local auto shop in town—which offers 24-hour towing—but they didn’t answer. I called so many places after that, starting with the closest ones because I didn’t know how far these companies travel. No one answered, and I started to feel really defeated and unsure what to do next.
Then I called Preferred Towing, and someone answered within a ring or two. I can’t explain the relief I felt just hearing someone on the other end. I wasn’t even sure if they’d come out to my area, but they were kind, helpful, and reassuring right from the start. They explained my options clearly, went over costs, and gave me a very reasonable arrival window.
The driver who came out was just as kind and professional. I let him know this was my first experience with a situation like this, and he was incredibly helpful and put me at ease. From start to finish, I couldn’t have asked for better service. It wasn’t just about someone answering the phone, it was about how they handled it. I felt well taken care of the entire time.
I truly appreciate the way they helped me out today and wouldn’t hesitate to call them again or recommend them to anyone.
Was the fastest tow I’ve ever had. Showed up almost immediately and I was stranded on the freeway and they prioritized my safety and came quickly which I appreciated! Very professional employees. The secretary was very prompt and helpful and my tow driver was really nice! 10/10 recommend this company!

It was quick,and easy Tyler got us out of a hard place and it was only 100 dollars he was cool about the situation. And we tryed to call another company but they could not come out until 6 hours later. If you need to get towed. Call preferred
Would not recommend this company they gave me an eta of 20 mins showed up a hour later. On top of that the driver chained my truck down and broke my axle u-bolts n dented/bent my axle cost me $3600 for everything to be fixed
I got a lockout of my freightliner truck in Michigan Welcome Center in port Huron City.last night around 3am. Zack, come out in half an hour and help me out

I should have a punch card by now as many times as I've locked myself out of my car but they're always on time and friendly and affordable... There again anytime your locked out of your car anything under a million is affordable lol. Nice and friendly also.

Garbage. Rude driver, unprofessional, robbery in pricing. Used to use them all the time. Will never get my business again. Car was hooked, asked for 100 to drop, when I’ve gotten toes for 65, told guy didn’t have cash on me it’s at home, take me there drop the car I’ll pay ya, nope it will be at the yard 260$ have a great day. How very nice of you. What a way to serve your community and fellow neighbors. R*pet them of their money.
I called at 7:30pm, the man who answered the phone was awsome! Polite and right to the point. Tow truck driver Michael #80 was the best! Polite and friendly, he knew what he was doing! Chevy transfercase blew on our anniversary! And they saved the night!
He honked the horn and said happy anniversary, made my wife's night! That Little piece of nastolgia was the cherry on top!

Great service! The guy was here fast to jump our car from a dead battery..the man was friendly and very kind. So thankful since it was Easter Sunday 2023. Use this service you won't be disappointed.
A+ customer service, even when they didn't end up needing to rescue me anyway, lol. My husband and I got a flat tire. He knows how to change a tire but it was stuck on good. The gentleman at Preferred that I spoke to gave us some advice and was very patient which was so helpful and meaningful while I was panicking. Sweet, sweet people who offer great service. My dog locked me out of my RV at Lakeport State Park and Jake came to the campground and worked so hard to get me back in. He was finally able to make entry via the front passenger's slide window. Jake was prompt, respectful, and very very patient.

Quick, professional service! We called them on a Sunday evening (after AAA failed to send us help after more than an hour wait). The young man was there in 20 minutes, secured our bike on the tow truck and drove us home. He was very nice and professional. Highly recommended!
The receptionist at Preferred has an attitude that kinda made me not want to talk to her much. But there was another woman who was there the first time I called who was super sweet when I called. Kinda disappointing.
Had to make a service call after my tire went flat today. I had forgotten I had a trunk full of groceries on top of my spare. The driver was courteous enough to find my eggs so I could put them in a safe place. I did get my spare only to realize it was flat too. We had d to empty my trunk to get my donut. He replaced the tire and I was on my way. Thank you so much

My 16 year old's truck broke down in the dark on a dirt road near Clyde, MI. Preferred was dispatched and showed up earlier than expected. Not only did the driver do an excellent job putting the F150 on the flatbed, she was also professional, courteous and she made sure my son was picked up and safe before she left for her next job. This had never happened to him before, and she made him feel safe and secure while they waited for his ride home. Kudos to the small town, caring attitude of this driver. Although I hope this never happens again, I would never hesitate to reach out to Preferred Towing in the future.
Stay VERY far away from Preferred Towing. My experience with them was horrible, and yours will be too.
Car was in bad shape, but nowhere near totalled, after I got hit in an accident. Had my car towed <1 mile (from McLaren Hospital to Preferred's lot). Went to pick it up a day later, and was told they wanted over $300 for the car. As broke college student at the time, I didn't have the money.
What if I came back a few days later after borrowing money? Nope. Every day you don't pick up your car the cost goes up ~$80. Quickly becoming far too expensive.
Were they willing to negotiate a lower price? Hard no. Didn't matter what my situation was to them, they were firm on the rates. Biggest FU I've ever experienced.
Yes, you read that right. Preferred wanted $300 for towing my car <1 mile, alongside $80 for every day I couldn't afford to pick it up. Just so my car could rot in their dirt parking lot.
Eventually I gave up. The cost became too much. I had to beg the guy who caused the accident money to buy a new vehicle. Preferred got my car. I'd drive by Preferred's lot occasionally to see how my car was doing, and one day it was gone. Never saw it again. Guess they had it scrapped for profit, but who really knows.
Though, one things for sure. My car was stolen from me. They towed it, and charged impounding rates they know I couldn't afford until the car was theirs.
They were shameless about it, but I'm more hurt than I am disgusted. That was my first ever car, and it was gone like that. I genuinely hope this place goes bankrupt and out of business for good.
So please go anywhere else for towing and do not support this business.
Always open. I called them late one rainy night after I broke down on the freeway. I gave them my credit card number. They told me to leave the keys. I got a ride home, had a good night's sleep, called my mechanic in the morning and he had the car. Perfect. And I thought the price was great.
We appreciate that your employee got the car to run so we could get it to the dealer, getting a new battery.
My husband is a at risk senior, wearing his mask...why couldn't your employee give him the respect and wear a mask AND socially distance? They stood in the garage, huddled together to fill out the invoice and make the payment. We are at all time highs for Covid in the area, and Michigan, and all seniors should be protected, without asking, as higher risk.
What a fantastic experience. The whole staff was great. I accidentally gave my house key to the driver (ugh). I called the dispatcher and the driver waited at the repair shop until we got there. I cant thank them enough. Two thunbs up!!
My boyfriend and I are from Ontario and we were involved in a car accident a few blocks from their office early thurs morning, and a super nice & polite employee started his day half an hour early to not only assist with the road clean up and tow to their yard, but also let us relax inside their office until someone was able to come pick us up. When the owner (I believe) arrived, she quickly offered us coffee and made us feel very comfortable in addition to waving the $150+ fee it would of originally cost us for the tow and scrapped the car for us free of charge because she overheard that my boyfriends insurance wouldn’t be covering it. Above and beyond exceptional customer service! Hope you enjoyed the donuts guys, it was the very least we could do for the great service. Definitely recommend their team!
