Had a great experience with Daniel Colangelo today at Fox VW on our new Tiguan purchase. Called him in the morning and he was able to get us sorted with financing and out of the dealership by 12:30! Amazing service, and he even threw in some all weather mats and cargo mat at no cost. 5 stars Alex

I’ve been very disappointed with my recent VW purchase and the issues that followed. The buying process started off well, I found the car online, went in to test drive it, and everything up to that point was smooth. We agreed on a price and began the paperwork without any problems. However, things changed once the sale was finalized. During the final walkthrough, the salesperson noticed a clear issue with the vehicle but downplayed it, suggesting it was normal and nothing to worry about. In hindsight, I should have refused to take delivery of the car. A month later, the problem persisted: the Wi-Fi connection kept dropping, hands-free calling wasn’t working, and the GPS constantly showed my car located hours away from where it actually was. I made a service appointment and was told the part needed would arrive in a week .But then communication completely stopped. A full month passed before I called to follow up, only to be told the part had been sitting there. The fix would take ½ day which at this point I do think they should provide a rental vehicle for the day for the MAJOR inconvenience that this has caused. What’s most frustrating is that the dealership clearly knew there was an issue with the vehicle when they sold it to me. To me, that reflects a serious lack of integrity and professionalism.

I've had my car in quite a few times since last month. Once for a car battery inspection after I had a random dead battery, this ended up costing over $200 only to be told nothing was wrong. I then went in for a broken center console latch and to have my key fob inspected because my fob was malfunctioning and only worked about 30% of the time, requiring me to use my spare. Got my center console replaced but was told that there was nothing wrong with my fob and that I should just "use my spare since it works." I was a bit frustrated by this, but went on continuing to check the status of the malfunctioning fob, only for about 3 days after leaving the dealer for my issue to be constant and for it to not work. So then I called to have it checked again I brought it in again, and the next day, they said that they do see an issue and will replace it but said that I could not use my manufacturer warranty that coincidentally just ended right after my last visit. I tried to explain to them that I already was in for this issue, and they told me there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with someone higher, which later led me to get into a call with a manager who also told me there was nothing he could do. He told me I could only use my CPO warranty currently in effect and added, "I'd wave the $50 deductible for your CPO warranty due to the inconvenience, but that would invalidate your CPO warranty." ??? I'm not sure why they felt the need to bullshit me like this. But I will not be coming back.

Service experience is going bad from last year to this year. Advisor loks like not taking the issues to the technical staff. I feel bad this time. I have to come and tell 2nd time to get my steering issue fixed. And the service advisor not all of them but some of them are not giving any detials on the extra options they have for the services.

This is my experience regarding my recent service appointment for a check engine light. I scheduled the visit online for 7:45am and arrived on time. In fact I was the first to arrive on that day. While check-in was smooth and I appreciated the courtesy ride to my workplace, the rest of my experience fell well short of expectations. Despite early appointment, my car was never serviced at all by the end of the day. I made a call around 1pm to inquire about status and was told that my car was next in line. After work, I had to take a taxi back to the dealership at 4:30pm only to learn my car never entered the shop. I understand that service delays can happen but what truly disappointed me was the complete lack of proactive communication. A simple courtesy call with status update or estimate time would have made a world of difference and saved me time and money. I hope someone will take this feedback into account to improve transparency and customer care. It’s unfortunate that my first visit to the dealership left such a negative impression.

If you like dealer tricks, blaming pricing issues on computer glitches, and poor communication. This is your dealer. Took my business elsewhere, Where they had transparent pricing and worked extremely hard to earn my business. Sad really, would’ve loved to have a great experience from my local dealer and keep my money in the community.

I went to this dealership on 5/31 and signed a lease for a new vehicle. There was a delay in getting the paperwork ready, and I was told they were having IT issues. There was no issue waiting, and the papers were signed that day. The plate was moved from my old car to the new car, and I thought everything was all set. I did not receive a copy of the paperwork at that time; I was told it would be emailed to me. Four days later on 6/3, I still had not received my copy, so I emailed the dealership, and they sent it to me the next day. Then, I get a call on 6/12 stating that there was an error in the lease paperwork, and I needed to sign a revised lease. It was due to the IT issues that day, something with the acquisition fee being wrong, but I was told verbally that nothing that would change my payment or any of the lease terms. FedEx sent the paperwork, and I signed it and sent it back quickly as requested. I did not notice at the time, as I was paying close attention to the dollar amounts, that the lease start date had been changed from 5/31 to 6/11. Then, I get another call on 6/19 stating that there is a problem with transferring the registration—19 days after I initially signed the lease! Turns out the plate number on the paperwork was incorrect. By this time, I had already moved a different plate onto my previous vehicle since it was too early to turn it back in to Chrysler. I had assumed that 7 days after I signed the new lease, my registration would have been transferred. Well turns out it wasn’t, and because I had no active registration anymore to transfer, I had to pay $276 for a new registration on my new vehicle--there was simply nothing they could do. This has been the worst experience I have had with a dealership. Any other vehicle I have purchased has been settled at the signing table, and 37 days after I signed this lease, I had to pay more money to avoid getting a ticket, because my paperwork was not handled correctly. I will not return to this dealership, nor would I recommend shopping here for a new vehicle.

Waited 4 hours for a simple warranty diagnostic and inspection only to be told they have to order the heated seat element (I already knew the seat heater was bad but for warranty purposes I needed to go through a VW dealer). I was provided no documentation of their diagnosis, nor given an estimated date of when they will have the part. In addition, I watched my vehicle sit in the service bay for a half hour before it was delivered to me. Frustrating to say the least.

Excellent service! Van Maxwell has been incredibly helpful getting me into my VWs! Have gotten several vehicles from the dealership, and every time it’s such a great smooth process with Van! Super easy to communicate, and excellent and seamless process, cars are always super clean and ready to go!

Took my Atlas for 10k service which did not include rotation. I was charged $37 which was fine, but I explained to the SA that I wanted the rotation to be X to drive axle, which is the known preferred method........always puts tire in new spot. He agreed. I always mark my tires. Upon return of Atlas I checked and they did an X rotation which will put tire back in same spot on next service. Tech was there when I pointed it out and acted like I was an idiot (guy that owns multiple cars and buys 2/3 new ones a yr as well as an automotive engineer). He was smirky and asked how much I drive, which one of my cars (VW) has 421,000 miles. I had to explain to the "tech" proper rotation..... X to drive wheels... I then called the service mgr Justin and explained how things went down. I also mentioned another VW dealer charged for a rotation, and with my markings I caught them never actually doing the rotation. He then tried to call me out as being a bad customer that was running out of VW dealers. That's when I replied that it's my fault that I catch dealers not doing proper work they charge for. He said he was gonna refund my money which i haven't seen. Just be warned, this dealer is looking for dumb ppl who don't check the work performed was actually done. MARK your tires!!!

As a first time car buyer, I had an amazing experience. When I first walked through the doors I was terrified because I had close to zero knowledge about what my options were. However, the salesman I worked with, Brendan Stokes, made me feel much more at ease. He was very straightforward and was able to explain everything to me in a way I could understand which made me much more comfortable. By the end, I felt very confident in my decision to move forward with leasing a Taos - a car which until that day I had actually never heard of before! I love my new car, and will definitely be back in the future :)

You said holiday week is stressful it was not just about holiday, it was about your Staff not communicating properly, and by the way, they haven’t sent me anything( summary of what they did to my car ) but you know what they sent me??? Suggestions of what my car will be needing in the future. That was convenient to do. They were able to sent me something that needs to be done in my car but They were not able to sent me the summary of the things they did to my car. Amazing right.. Be very weary of the service department here. Took my car in for a coolant leak and they told me it was leaking oil which caused damage to the water pump. Told me it would take 4-5 days and the whole engine needed to come out. Quoted me $5000 to repair. My boyfriend was able to replace the water pump with a better, non-plastic VW part for around $250 for parts and tools. This is why the automotive industry has a bad reputation. Ripping people off and ruining people's lives with fear tactics to make money. Disgusting behavior.

I had a great experience thanks to my great salesperson Elizabeth Carr! If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, kind, low pressure salesperson this is who you need to see. She worked me the best deal I could find compared to other dealers I looked at, including out of state ones. I didn’t end up buying from her as I got employee discount elsewhere but I wanted to buy a VW just because of her. I have worked with a lot of salespeople and she was a breath of fresh air. One of those experiences that make you want to go leave a review bc of the shockingly good help. The dealer was very nice as well!

As someone who has purchased many vehicles and visited many dealerships in my lifetime, I was not at all impressed with my experience at Fox VW in Rochester. I accompanied a family member to purchase a new SUV a day or so after he took a preliminary look and met with Dan Colangelo. When we arrived at the dealership we saw Dan C was finishing with another customer and politely waited to exchange greetings. Dan advised that he would be with us momentarily as he first had to take care of something. We were a bit shocked as we then witnessed him through the showroom floor windows taking a smoke break. We endured the odor of cigarette smoke while in close proximity within the confines of his office as we were anxious to test drive and take a closer look at the vehicle, additionally the dealership appeared to be slow that day with limited staff available, so decided to continue working with Dan C. After completing the test drive my family member made the decision to purchase. Dan took a few minutes to consult with his sales manager as we went back & forth a couple of times regarding pricing as to be expected. Dan ultimately presented us with a buyers order but advised that we would not be able purchase the vehicle, rather we would need to wait a couple days for the dealership 'to process a purchase.' We left the dealership with the buyers order in hand. A few days later my family member returned without me to finalize the purchase and drive home the vehicle. When my family member met again with Dan C, he was presented with a new buyers order, reflecting a higher price than the original buyers order. Dan C advised that he 'mis- calculated' the original figures. At this juncture, with increasing angst, my family member decided not to visit another dealership, rather to move forward and purchase. He urgently needed a vehicle, and simply liked the trim level, wheels & exterior & interior color combination on the SUV he had chosen. The reminder of the purchasing encounter was completed without any additional issues. A few weeks after driving and enjoying the vehicle, my family member received a follow up call from Dan C asking for a 5 star review! Overall, not a good experience and cannot recommend this dealership to others!

Customer service is amazing here. I absolutely love the environment at Fox Volkswagen. Purchased my second lease from Rolf and he found me a fantastic deal on my new lease. I got a new leased car (2019 Jetta) from this dealership 3 weeks ago. The next day I saw inside the windshields and windows was frozen, I took it to service center that week. They said they cannot recreate the issue(since the temperature was at 40's when they tried to recreate ). From the next week, every day morning the inside windshield and door is frozen. I have tried contacting the service center for one entire week via phone, dropped voice mail, emailed them. I did not get any response from them and I am trying to contact them for this entire week. Very poor customer service. They have given me a defective car. Be careful when you buy or lease from this dealership
