We just dropped off the block core. We met the whole crew. Everyone was awesome! Glen is in a league of his own. His VW knowledge is astounding. We met the owner too. She was very gracious and hospitable to us. Bottom line: you won't find a better VW parts Place anywhere in the USA!

Parts Place Inc has quickly become my go-to for my 81 diesel Rabbit. They have hard to find parts at good prices and exceptional customer service. Glen in tech support spent time with me troubleshooting an issue I was having and nailed it, and owner Maggie is a gem. Highly recommend.

My bus is my sole mode of transportation. The master cylinder went out on me while driving home from work. I found them on line and they were actually a drivable distance for me. Coming from Ann arbor, they were quite a drive, but I needed to get my van stopping asap. I borrowed a car and set out after work. Turns out Google maps is terrible with factoring in rush hour time. I ended up still on the road when they were closing. I gave them a call. Told them I was close and the predicament i was in and they stayed after hours until I got there to sell me the master cylinder(which was of great quality and very affordable ).They didn't have to do that, but they went above and beyond to accommodate me. True life savers. Now I can get my kids to school tomorrow and myself to work. Thank you so much. You've got a customer for life.

I’ve been ordering from Parts Place over 30 years. Always received good service without any problems. They stand behind what they sell.

EXCELLENT people to deal with. I can't say enough for them being a HUGE lifesaver. Came up to the woodward dream cruise with my dune buggy and it quit running 2 days before the cruise. I called them and they had the parts I needed and even had help from the 1 guy there. No need to mention names but he knows who he is. VERY FRIENDLY and KNOWLEDGEABLE. I will definitely be giving these people business in the future when I have parts to buy. HIGHLY recommended.

I recently purchased strut mounts from this store and unfortunately, I encountered some issues shortly after driving home from the shop that installed them. While my overall experience with this store has been mostly positive, I have noticed inconsistencies in the quality of their parts, possibly due to outdated stock. Additionally, when I contacted them to express my concerns about the quality, I was disappointed with the level of customer service provided. As a result, I had to spend extra money on reinstalling the parts and getting a wheel alignment due to the negligence of someone involved.

Love the ability to get everything in one spot- however- Over the last few years so much has gone out of stock here that can easily be found on any other website including places like rock auto. It feels like they’re just giving up on the older rabbit models. Also, I’m no longer able to choose shipping options online aside from the slower ones. Have to call them to get other options which is sometimes a hassle. Sometimes get discouraged that parts here are way more than identical parts elsewhere but as I said it is great to have the convenience of most things being all in one site.

Bought a rebuilt Vanagon engine and paid to ship it all the way to Alaska (over $1500) and had it professionally installed. Installing shop who specializes in German cars/Vanagons said that the engine didn't look rebuilt and didn't think it would last. They identified multiple compromised and pitted/rusted parts in the engine. When we notified Parts Place we were still within warranty and expressed our concerns and the shops concerns that the engine would last. They didn't offer any resolution despite us sending photos of obviously corroded parts. Needless to say the engine lost compression and needs to be completely replaced after only a few thousand miles. We reached back out to Part Place Inc. when the engine died and provided all written documentation from the shop, previous emails regarding our concerns etc. and they offered no resolution again. We spent almost 8k in purchasing the engine, shipping, and install with needing another new engine after minimal use. Don't wast your money.

Make sure to check these guys out for all of your Volkswagen needs. They have plenty of hard to find parts stored in their massive warehouse for your convenience. They are quick and extremely helpful. Big shout out to these guys for helping me keep this lady looking beautiful and on the road!

Bought rebuilt engine from these guys. Had it installed, right off the bat bad valve. Shipped head back. Their rebuilders had to be contacted directly to fix the problem after a week. I had to pay for taking the head off, and reinstall and shipping. So much for their warranty. Now I'm sitting in New Mexico with less than 6000 miles on "rebuilt" engine with crankshaft bearings toast! Don't buy any rebuilt engines from Parts Place Inc they're butchers!

Ordered parts on the 15th of May, weren't shipped until the 27th. Didn't get them until the 10th of June. I haven't even checked to see if the parts fit yet, but the shipping situation alone is ludicrous. I understand a long shipping time but it shouldn't take 2 weeks to box it up and take it to the post office.

Steve and Duayn are incredibly helpful. Parts Place has been invaluable for rescuing our 81 diesel caddy from an early grave and keeping it running ever since.

I definitely recommend these guys to keep your older vw going. With their massive inventory, knowledge, and hard to find treasures, it is well worth the value.

I've dealt with this company on and off for almost 4 years. The orders do arrive pretty quickly depending on weather. I live across the country so the winter time wasn't very helpful. Steve and Larry, thank you so much for your advice and pleasant conversation. Larry, thank you for your insight to the fuel distributor. Still haven't been able to test it out. Keep up the good work as a company. 86 golf 8v. Sincerely, Jason

High prices...spotty quality. I rebuilt a 1981 VW Rabbit 1.6D from a rustbucket in a field to now being my daily driver. I recently needed a new injection pump so I looked around and decided to spend the extra money on the Parts Place pump because I thought it would be the best quality(based on price and reviews). After reinstalling the new pump, my throttle would not return to idle without extra assistance. I troubleshot and replaced throttle cables and the pedal before figuring out that the spring on the new pump did not have enough force to return to idle. After talking with Parts Place, they told me the only thing I would do is take a look if remove it from the vehicle and send it back. Then I will have to wait for them to take a look at it, reinstall and time it again...and hope it works. In the meantime, the car will sit and be worthless for weeks. Will not buy another one from them...Ever!

I have ordered parts from this place in the past and been generally happy with some of their products. I recently purchased some parts and saw they had a convertible top boot bag available and I ordered it. Do not waste your money. It is only a glorified black trash bag. It doesn't even close so it is not even a good storage container. I will not be storing my boot in it and will discontinue ordering anything from this company. This was just a ripoff item.

Hi, good morning! My name is Edgar and I´m from Brazil. I´ve been looking for some 87-90 VW Fox Parts for a long time and the only place I found it, was just with you. I filled a shopping cart with the all parts I need, but when I was completing my checkout I saw that you ship only to USA and Canada adresses. Please, could you open an exception? I´d really appreciate.

I have ordered hundreds of dollars in parts from this store, and for the most part, they have been fairly good. A bit slow at times, but they can get parts that others can't and they know more about VW's than any other parts store I know. That being said, I only use them for stuff I can't readily find elsewhere for less money, or when I am combining shipping with other items from their store. Case in point: I have a valve cover oil leak and I'm going to get a new gasket and a valve cover baffle, since my Rabbit Convertible is a 1984 and VW didn't install baffles until 1985. Nobody else seems to know what a valve cover baffle is, because if Rock Auto sold one, I'd buy theirs. They have been excellent for reliability in getting replacement parts for my Rabbit, and dirt cheap, too. I will be ordering from them today. About 2 years ago,I had a leaking output shaft seal and my front seats were rattling a bit, so I ordered a set of plastic seat track sliders and an output shaft seal kit for my 100mm CV shafts. The only piece in the output shaft kit that fit was the center plug, the seals were too small, but the bag was CLEARLY labeled for the 100mm, not the 90mm. The bag looked like a kit that was packaged in house from components they order. I had to go to O'Reilley and have them match the old seal, which they did, but I needed to use the cap, so Parts Place refused to exchange or refund for the wrong parts they sent me. Same with the seat sliders, they said they fit, I must be installing them wrong. I have 1987 GTI 16V seats in my Rabbit, but the kit said that it fit both cars. Nope. Still, too cheap to hold a grudge for more than a year. as for reputation, back in the early 1990's, somebody in the Auburn Hills area tried to order almost $1,200 in Sea-Doo parts shortly after I made a mail order purchase from this store. I only used my credit card for mail order, so I know the number was stolen from their store. The Sea-Doo shop called me after he saw that the shipping and billing addresses were different. The wouldn't tell me the shipping address. Recycled Bugs (their name at the time) said that the guy who stole several customer's credit card numbers was caught and fired, but I'm definitely a little wary of this store because of it. They hired a thief, so I DO put some blame on them, for not checking his references.

I have been a customer of the Parts Place for many years, purchasing many parts for the different VWs i have owned. When i call other auto part stores and they dont have the parts im looking for, i call up the guys at parts place to see what they have in their used parts, which is filled with some of the oddball Volkswagen only stuff. Glad they are still around offering the parts i need for my 'new to me' 2008 Golf, and keeping me away from the dealer.

I received excellent service from Parts Place. I ordered a pair of steering rack boots for my 1990 Jetta GL. I ordered on Friday and they arrived Monday and I replaced the cracked one that night. They were from a German company made in Italy (Good quality). This saved me at least $100. Good quality, good price, and my order arrived quickly. Great experience overall.

Made my first order at night and realized I needed a couple more small things in the morning which I ordered that day. Within an hour they had contacted me saying they pulled my package, added the couple small things and were refunding me the second shipping charge. That is not the kind of personal attention I expect from an online store! Can't wait to get my stuff and get to work on my old VW!

Before finding the Parts Place I went a local auto store to look for a PCV valve for my 2000 VW Cabrio. I was informed that the part wasn't available in their store, but they could order it from the warehouse for $120.00. Luckily, I decided to go home and do some research instead of buying it from that local store. So, I did a quick Google search, I found Parts Place, and I AM GLAD I DID. The same part was available at Parts Place for only $.42. So I ordered the valve, it shipped the next day, and arrived a day later. I am going to install the valve on my 2000 VW Cabrio tomorrow thanks to Parts Place. I've never been this satisfied with a auto parts business before, but I am extremely happy with Parts Place. The Parts Place will definitely be the first place I look for VW parts in the future.

I recently purchased a re-manufactured vacuum pump from Parts Place Inc, which I received in a timely manor. The part I received was clean with a fresh coat of paint and all seemed well so I installed it and it worked great for a week. When my brakes stopped working again I pulled the part out and dismantled it to find that it was just a used part with a coat of paint on it. All the internal parts were worn out, they didn't even install a new diaphragm in it! Needless to say I am not happy with Parts Place Inc. I have owned my car for about a month now and have already spent $400 at this website and was planning on much more but I don't like being cheated so I will not spend another dime at this website.
