id give a 0 but cant. ive tryed to call several times to ask about some priceings so i didnt have to waist my time driving up there but no one can answer the damn phone. ill just take my money somewere else!!!
When calling them to buy a scrap vehicle make sure to ask about the towing fee as they tend to hide that from you till you show up to get a check to find it $50 to $100 less then what was quoted
I wish i could give 0 star. They’re “team” scammers. I told them all of the parts i want, and they told me the price, we agreed each other. It took many days to take it off. The last day they didn’t let me enter the yard. And trying to mess with me. Maybe they realized it really worth a lot of money.
1 star is way to much for this place i had to give it or not write about my terrible experience at Jims Recycling. On Dec 11,2024 I bought an engine from Jims. Dec 18th they delivered it to my choice of repair. Got the car back on Dec 27th. Sadly 1 week later Jan 3,2025 hit a deer, back to a collision shop got it back again on Jan 22nd. My car was on the road after new engine was pit in exactly 28 days with 100% proof of what i say is the truth. Yesterday 2-11-25 the engine blew, oil all over back of car side of car and all over under the car. Today 2-12 i went into Jim's explained everything, the fella behind the counter says, well u bought it on Dec 11 I don't think he will do anything for you. He goes back to talk to his boss and comes back out with "Nope we can't help you, but he said he would be happy to sell you another engine", are you kidding, what the hell he couldn't even come tell me himself. Cost us $4300.00 and got exactly 28 days off new engine. People stay away from Jim's Recycling and Jim's tires on 21 and lake pleasant or the same WILL happen to u!!!!
Rules have changed drastically from what i ever had far as scrapping goes
Use to have no issues with tires and rims (long as where lawn mower) brought in maybe 10 lawn mower transmissions with rims and tires, wanted to charge me, granted these are considered breakage and worth 40-60 more a ton "seperated". I personally never had an issue regardless. Now I do
The torching rules seemed to have either changed or got more strict as well.
Used them for 15 years never had an issue, now last 2 times I've left and gone else where and got more money and no hassle.
Wont use them any longer for scrapping with these rules.
Once I also was told thay 2 truck frames where torch, jim the owner was there and got pissed that I was leaving with them and said that's normal priced metal not supposed to be "torch"
Maybe rules have changed or the employees are not 100% sure on when or what there suppose to charge when.
Regarless now go to AJs or IDF in imaly city and much much less hassle
Very helpful team of people willing to go above and beyond to help you find the parts you need! I needed a couple of random steel brackets and they had a vehicle in the yard that had them on it.
Had a van I needed to get gone. Very kind and helpful staff. I will definitely be getting the word out about them to anyone who needs to get some cash in their pocket. Thank you!
Very poor customer service! Ordered a part(10/20), called 3 days later(10/23) and stated it was shipped. Not so, was shipped a week(10/30) after purchasing the part per ups! Never again!!!
It's nice to find that there are still junk yards that save the old stuff and let ya walk the yard. I appreciate the time they gave me today, as well as for the young man Ben, who was a huge help! Was able to get the parts I needed without issue. Will be back!
Place was great! Definitely recommend! Was a little drive to get to it but totally worth it! People there are fair on prices and very helpful! Got exactly what I wanted for my Tahoe! Thanks again for the help!
This place is a joke! Sold me a transmission for $450, just because I was a female they just took my money and lied to me. Will NEVER do any business with place and I don't recommend anyone doing business either. Very shady and not trustworthy!!!
I would give this yard zero stars if I could but I don't have the option. That yard had good service last time I was there and now they got a bunch of clowns working there, their tire store knows more than the ones working where your suppose to get your parts. You might want to get Matt back so we can get the right stuff and not have to go else where.
Their guy Matt at the front counter for Parts went beyond to get me what I was looking for, he had his co worker Bret pull the part right there on the spot with no hassle. The best service I've got in the area, keep it up guys..
Would not recommend. Friend came in to get seats for a car and they would only allow 1 person at a time, guy told us he already had 4 people out there but more than 4 came back. Yet they still told us only 1 person could be out there. I want to know how 1 person is supposed to bring up 2 fronts and a back seat? Also screwed my buddy over on an engine. Never coming back.
DO NOT do business with Jim's Recycling in Attica. They sold me a faulty transmission over a month ago and refuse to refund me let alone call me back on it. I'm out $850 because they told me they had a transmission w/ 41k miles on it. I purchased it from them and had it installed and it was completely faulty. For weeks they said they were looking for a replacement. After two weeks I had to call them and they then told me they wouldn't do ANYTHING about it. These guys are crooks.
Called on a Saturday for a few parts, was told, we close at 3, I said I would be there before 3. Parts werent even pulled. Was told they would be on Monday, didnt get a call to verify they were pulled until after noon onTuesday. I have way better ways to waste my time than this. Got the same parts on Sunday, for 50 dollars less than their quote besides.
This place is great! I needed a new door handle for my truck, and like magic a little guy pulled one out like it was nothing. I was very appreciative on the price as well. Needless to say, my new handle broke in the same spot as the old one. Not there fault, just the design of the mold for the cast iron handle. Will definately do business here again.
Great staff. Very knowledgeable with what they work with. Excellent prices for what we needed in parts. Informative - polite - friendly crew. Plan on doing business with them more in the future.
Great place, reasonable prices. I have been to the junkyard multiple times to get parts for my project car. Its good to call and see if they have your car so you don't waste your time. They had one, so I went and pulled the parts myself, and was charged reasonable prices for them. If you pay them to pull it might be more expensive, but at least for my rare vehicle, its way cheaper to go to Jims Recycling and pull it myself than order it from a website somewhere.
Employees are all extremely rude, that would be tolerable if they had decent product for the price. But you can't win for losing here. Save yourself the headache and drive alittle further to a more professional site. Most prices from competitors are cheaper or the same with a better product or better policy.
Fantastic place. The people were very friendly and professional. Came to pick up a transmission. They got it loaded up and taken care of in 10 mins! Best time so far and i go to other places like this every day and always have to wait at least 45 mins before they even help me. I recommend this place to everyone!
Not only do they have good quality used tires for sale, they also are very well trained and incredible individuals over all. I saw a few bad reviews on here, I've never had a problem with this company.
They gave me a lower price then my brother who was right behind me in line. I noticed this later and called them. The lady on the phone was incredibly rude. She went as far as mocking me in a very snotty voice. Customers keep you in business and when you screw them and treat them poorly they will go else where. Way to go Jims....I have been going to haacks for years and decided to give this place a chance...what a waste of time that was.
