We had a situation on our job sight with our man lift. The man lift slid on ice and was 1/32" away from hitting the building. These guys pulled it out flawlessly with no damage And quickly. All I can say is 100% pros.
Very helpful. Had a flat tire and they were going to help me change it. Ended up being a bigger problem than we thought and they towed me to a repair shop to get it fixed. Reasonable pricing.
I had good experience in the past with this towing company. I get it is nasty out. But TRUCK DRIVER STATED I'm losing money when I'm waiting for you. I was like I'm paying you he said it doesn't matter I need to get to my next job. So I said want me to do it? Just because truck was slipping on the snow. I called the place to ask if I could clean drive way. It didn't matter horrible customer service
All the staff members were caring during my stressful situation of getting stranded at 1pm in the Grand Rapids airport after a long day of delayed flights. They all tried their best to jump my battery but when they realized it wasn't a battery issue, they worked even harder to manually push my car out of the parking garage to be able to load it onto the wrecker. They made sure I was safe and stayed warm and gave me a ride to my hometown. Would definitely do business with them again!
Price was fair. 100 bucks for a 5 mile tow. Took 10 hours to get picked up and delivered, that would have been nice to know before hand but all in all, I'd call Merles again.
The towing agent that came out during our very cold weather and very snowy days was awesome and very pleasant. The flat bed was unable to fit the clearance into our employee parking garage. So he walked to the 5th level many flights of stairs to my car. He was able to jump start it immediately and get it outside the garage to his flat bed truck for towing.
Had my transmission go out and needed a tow to the other side of town. Called and was met with one of the most charismatic receptionists I've ever had the pleasure of talking to. I knew I was in for good service then, but it gets better. They told me they would tow my car the next day or when they could get to it.. bro they towed that thing before I could get up at 4:45 in the morning for work! (Mind you, there was a solid wall of snow around my car from not moving) Trust that these people are putting in the work!!! Thank you lots Merls!
I guess when you have a flat tire in the cold your not a priority. I called at 5:32am and was told it would be around 8:00am before someone could come out. I thought fine. We'll when 11:00am rolls around and still no truck. I called numerous times ,but was told the same bullshit, they were really busy and I was not a top priority. Well I finally cancel the truck . Waiting 5.5 hours for a tow truck is total bullshit. The roads were not that bad. Next time I need a tow or roadside assistance they will be the last place I call.
This was a great experience! Our insurance company's AI sucks and can't get a person. Yeah calling you out Auto Owner's. AO said they had to schedule p/u or it cost us $100. 9 AM we needed a tow. 9PM AI still can't find a tow truck and we can't reach a person. We scheduled our own pick up with Merl's at 4:45 PM and had it picked up and dropped off 1 1/2 hrs later! This is with the current snow storm 10 degrees and multi crashes! Connie was great at keeping us informed about the time line of pickup. Nick let us know when he got there and when to meet us at the drop off. Excellent service! Thanks!
We’ve had to call Merl’s Towing more times than I care to admit — two teenagers, three cars, and single-mom life will do that. Every single time, they’ve been great.
Today really sealed it for me. My youngest managed to get stuck in a snowbank… literally right outside our house. We shoveled, rocked the car, tried all the things — no luck. The magic Merl’s man (I didn’t catch his name) showed up, rocked the car out, and then took the time to teach us about spinning tires and how to get out of a snowbank properly.
Pure goodness and genuine help.

Our Ford Fusion hybrid wouldn't start. We called Merl's Towing and asked for help. The person who handled our call was polite,. The tow truck arrived in a reasonable time. The mechanis was polite and quickly got the battery jumped and the car running. Every thing was professional, and the price was fair. Merl's is the best.
Absolutely the BEST customer service! Called Amber- dispatched to Brian… he sent Adam. Adam took the time to show my daughter how to try to get herself out if she ever wants to get stuck again. While we were not able to get unstuck and needed Adam to pull the car out, it was a great learning experience for her as a young driver. Adam was efficient and personable!
I was driving the work delivery van when it last power and just shut down. Even in the absolute worst winter weather Merls took care of me and got me out of the way of traffic pretty quickly. The driver was super nice and ushered me into his warm truck as he got the van loaded up.
After being in an accident for the first time not knowing what to do, Jason was a huge help for my girls. He made sure they were taken care of, warm, safe, and that they understood what was happening and the steps to take throughout the process. I would recommend Merls towing, Especially if you're lucky enough to have Jason!
I was extremely disturbed to witness one of this company’s tow trucks towing a vehicle with a dog still inside. The car window was all the way down, and the dog appeared unsecured while the vehicle was being transported. This is incredibly dangerous and irresponsible. Seeing an animal placed in a potentially life-threatening situation was alarming and upsetting. I would seriously question this company’s judgment and protocols if this is how they handle situations involving living beings.
The gentleman who towed my vehicle was punctual, friendly, and was very careful with my vehicle. I would use this company again, if needed, in the future.
When my daughter needed to get her wrecked car towed home Merl’s Towing Service was quick, professional and reasonably priced. The driver was very helpful with getting my daughter’s car moved to exactly where I asked for it to be parked in our driveway. I don’t need a tow often but when I do Merl’s is the first towing company I call because I’ve always received great service at a great price.
My car broke down at my house, so I called during a nasty snow storm with really bad roads. My appointment wasn't for 4 days and I told them when the vehicle had to be delivered by and that I was in no hurry at all. I told them to take care of stranded vehicles, yet they were still at my house within 45 minutes. I was very impressed and the driver was very nice and professional.
Had to call out Merl's Towing to do a flatbed for my home out to my buddies place between Caledonia and Middleville. Connie was our dispatcher, she was very pleasant soft spoken polite. Gary was our truck driver was very kind considerate and polite also very very quickly to get our vehicle picked up flatbed it out. When we finished up our business with credit card he did an awesome job and was very polite and studious dropped off farther back. Very polite. We have used them on a couple of occasions. Always top notch service.
I am writing to formally complain about the service I received from Merils Towing Service. This company has failed to meet their commitments twice, resulting in a highly unprofessional experience.
I contacted roadside service at 5:00 AM for a vehicle pickup, as I had a scheduled appointment at the Mercedes service center for 8:30 AM. I was initially sent a text message stating that a driver would arrive within 60 minutes. When I called Merils directly to confirm, I was told the arrival time would actually be 90 minutes.
After waiting for two hours with no follow-up, I called again to check the status. I was then informed that other customers were being prioritized over me and that it would be several more hours before they could pick up my vehicle.
It is completely unacceptable and unprofessional to repeatedly change arrival times and inform a customer that they are not a priority, especially when a timely pickup was critical for a service appointment. This is not how a business should operate.
It was Awesome! He arrived early and had my car running very quickly. Also, the technician was very friendly and nice to work with! He was great! I have added this service to my contacts for further reference
Driver arrived within about 10 mins of my call. He was very professional and polite. Took me to the dealer with no fuss, and was easy to talk to. Very good experience!
Jeff was a nice easy going guy. 30 years of towing experience he made easy work of this haul. It was nice talking to him and he did an excellent job hooking up to and towing my service truck to my home. My service truck is finally done for and got a new one on the way :).
Ram and his assistant were amazing! We had an unusual trailer, with 4 flat tires, to haul about 100 miles away. They showed up with smiles, got right to work, and managed to get the trailer on the flatbed. When we arrived at the drop off location, Ram was an absolute master at getting that flatbed into a tight space, and dropped the trailer exactly where we needed it!!
