John at Merl's is genuinely the kindest human being there is. I got stuck in the middle of a Verizon wireless outage (no cell service until 5am) on the side of the highway after midnight, and managed to get a call to emergency services who contacted Merl's for towing. John was genuinely so kind and empathetic as he towed my car and gave me a lift back home, keeping conversation light to keep my mind off of the stress. Will ALWAYS recommend their services.
Mike was so kind when we called. My husband had a flat tire on the highway going towards Lansing and the first tow service we called no-showed and charged us in advance. Mike had his driver there within 20 minutes!! Great service! Kind and super fast!! Thank you so much!!

Great help at a stressful time! We broke down on 44th street (if you know you know) the tow truck arrived and had loaded up and we were gone before the police arrived. I had called another tow service before Merl’s and it went straight to voicemail. When I called Merl’s they answered quickly and were efficient and polite.
Honestly the best tow truck experience I’ve ever had and that’s saying a lot because I’ve had the worst car luck and many tow truck experiences. My tire was flat and I didn’t have a jack to get my car off the ground and didn’t have anyone available to help me. I came to the conclusion I needed a tow to a tire shop so I could get going to work the next day. I wish I could remember his name but he came expecting to tow my car and instead offered me his jack to get my spare tire on so I could drive to a tire shop myself. He got my spare tire on and he had so many great tips and recommendations for where I should go. I took his advice and got basically brand new tires from a place he recommended me for 140$. Saved money in every regard thanks to this company and I would 10/10 recommend them .
Harold was personable, very knowledgeable, and took great time and consideration loading my vehicle onto his tow truck to get it to the dealer for service. Harold was very professional and I'm really happy I decided to use Merl's to get my car to the dealer. It was like having white glove towing service!
I must say, my experience with Merl's towing service was flawless! From the kind lady on the dispatch call (sorry didn't get her name) to the Driver, Brandon, who was awesome! He was quick, friendly, and informative as he towed my vehicle efficiently to the requested destination. They arrived to my location in like 10 minutes after the call. He even gave my tire some air because it needed it after the tow was completed. Best experience Ive had in a long time from a towing company!
They were amazing. My insurance company had me waiting over 6 hours for a tow truck, I called Merl’s they had one out to me in just about an hour. They were very kind with my situation, took great care of the car I needed towing, and honestly, with the predicament I had gotten myself into I’m surprised they didn’t charge me more, which with how amazing they were i genuinely wouldn’t of minded. If you’re ever in a tough spot, these guys are amazing. I wanted to give special recover to Jason, he was the one who came out to help and he was very kind and empathetic to my entire situation

As ALWAYS, the driver was patient, kind and friendly. Unfortunately, my family and friends have had to use them quite a bit. And everyone has been completely pleased with their service. We only ever use Merl's. They're great!
I needed a camper van towed 50 miles back home after breakdown. The first two tow companies could not get the job done. Merl's got me safely to the repair shop. Would call them first in the future.
Merl’s Towing came highly recommended to my husband! After yesterday I can see why! Driver 27 (I think that’s what my receipt said..sorry, didn’t catch his name) went above and beyond. He explained steps to me while he was fixing my flat. He helped reload my car when he was done and was patient as I asked 1 million questions.

I cannot say enough good things! I already forgot the name of my driver because I’m terrible with names, but he was so fast getting there and so fast to unlock my door. More importantly he was an awesome human being! He definitely went above and beyond I feel like for a simple car lock out. Very awesome dude and I hope he’s getting paid well!! As a business owner myself, I know how hard it is to find good employees, and this man is gold! Even the guy at dispatch who took my call was extremely pleasant! Thank you, Merl’s towing! From dispatch to driver, my experience was great. I needed a non-urgent tow and noted this when I called. I was told that my timing was great and a driver would be over within 30 min. About 15 minutes later, he arrived. He was friendly and professional and treated my vehicle well. Will use them next time I need a tow.
Jeff was a nice easy going guy. 30 years of towing experience he made easy work of this haul. It was nice talking to him and he did an excellent job hooking up to and towing my service truck to my home. My service truck is finally done for and got a new one on the way :).
Ram and his assistant were amazing! We had an unusual trailer, with 4 flat tires, to haul about 100 miles away. They showed up with smiles, got right to work, and managed to get the trailer on the flatbed. When we arrived at the drop off location, Ram was an absolute master at getting that flatbed into a tight space, and dropped the trailer exactly where we needed it!!
Needed an emergency Tow due to a flat tire. Called and the dispatcher set me up and a driver was there probably within 15 minutes. The driver, Nick was efficient and super friendly. And I didn’t have time to shop around much but the price was very reasonable and cheaper than other times I’ve needed a tow in the past. 10/10 would absolutely call again. (Even if I hope I don’t have to lol)
Absolutely amazing service today. My vehicle broke down in a bad area of town and I was taken care of quickly even though they were busy. Very professional and kind from the moment I called. I needed a tow to a tire shop. I was told by the dispatcher that the wait time would be about 15 minutes. The driver called back. He said that if I had a spare tire he could put it on for me so that I can get the tire replaced at my convenience. He was at my location within 10 minutes!! He put on my spare. He was courteous. He did the job well! I’m so happy with the services that were provided. This is my go to tow company. I’ve been using them since 2011!
I was stranded on Memorial day, in Grand Rapids at 131 and Pearl St. I was not familiar with towing companies in the area so I started calling the first ones that came up when I googled ones close to where I was. The first one was answered by a man who did not speak good English. He kept asking me to repeat everything I said and kept putting me on hold. After doing this for about 10 minutes, I hung up. I called the second place that came up and after giving them my location, they said it would be at least 30 minutes to get to me and it would cost $139.00 because of their "holiday" charge.
The next company that came up was Merl's Towing Service. I Spoke to a lady there who took my information and location, said she could have a driver right out and the cost would be $84.00. I said perfect! A few minutes later, my phone rang and when I answered, it was the driver for Merl's. He verified where I was at, what I needed and said he was about 8 minutes away. Sure enough, he was there in 7 or 8 minutes, he hooked my vehicle up on a flatbed wrecker and drove me to the nearest service station. He charged my battery and made sure everything was working. He was extremely professional, polite and kind. I would definitely use Merl's Towing Service again and I would give their driver 10 stars if I could.
Mark was awesome! He arrived quickly and got us home safe! We appreciate that he even helped to find what our problem was! My husband and I will definitely call again when needed in the future
Extremely happy with the service, they beat the prices of other tow companies which was very helpful since I needed the tow from Grand Rapids to Paw Paw and they were so friendly when I called. The driver was very knowledgeable and explained to me what was broken too. Highly recommend them!
