Swapped my engine no problem, the even let me keep the car on the lot until I could afford everything that had to be done they even went out of there way to find and pick up the engine for me.
My truck wouldn't turnover without a jump. Jim spent 5 minutes with me in front of the shop discussing the symptoms my truck was displaying. He proposed a fix to try on my own. I came home and performed the suggested repair and my truck is running like new. Thank you Jim! Best shop in the area!
NEVER TAKE A CAR HERE. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST MECHANICS IVE EVER DEALT WITH. Talked to them on the phone back in June about getting work done on my car- sure get it towed in we’ll get it done for you, got it towed in the next day. A couple days go by contact them again they haven’t looked at it yet. Needless to say 6 months and 15+ times contacting them go by, they’ve still never looked at it. We’ve called, gone in, etc and it’s never been even looked at to see what’s wrong with it. We’ve told them multiple times we would pay whatever it took to get it running again but apparently they don’t like business. I am extremely disappointed with their service- they don’t answer the phone or call you back you have to go in to even get a hold of them, every time they told us they have to get Doug to look at it but nope never once happened. They only care about working on brand new rich peoples cars and doing oil changes- they shouldn’t even be considered a mechanic shop. It’s sat so long waiting that there’s rust in the engine cylinders now and the suspension is seized up so a perfectly good car has gone to waste thanks to them. You’d be better off getting a mechanic license and fixing it yourself over going through Mac’s Garage. SMH
I called and explained what was going on mid week last week and he had me in first thing Monday. He said he could try to look at it before but could not promise. Anyhow he was honest about everything in my car and didn't try to take every penny. Let some things wait out because not needed and knew I was on a budget but fixed more than I could imagine and didn't charge me a fortune. Definitely will be back! My car drives amazing now.

Vary honest mechanic always solves my issues they have at least a week or 2 of work ahead of you when you call because they really will fix your issue. i went in and said my jeep had a miss fire on a fuel injector and he took his time and found out that it was a antifreeze issue and put stop leek in their and got it running smooth, he was vary honest and could have just replaced what i told him and i would still have an issue. he is smart and knows what he is doing and wont rip you off like most people. also if you need a mechanic to replace a battery then you might want to do that your self if your so upset about it, mac is good and has served my family for some years now.
Asked for an inspection of my engine. Waited a month and half before they replaced the battery for $250. Was told engine needed to be replaced. Ordered new engine and had my guy replace engine because Mac's owner said he didn't want to do the work. It turned out it was only a serpentine belt. My mechanic said if they had an experienced mechanic look under the hood they would have seen shredded belt. Owner is my neighbor and I went there only because of their reputation. Ended up costing me $4,000 in needless repairs. Do not go here unless you're a Gull Lake good old boy. Home of the $2,000 tune up. Complete hacks!
Used Mac's Garage for years...dependable and honest. You might find someplace a bit cheaper, but they stand behind their work. Hope they are around forever!
Mac's garage is peace of mind. I don't know a lot about cars so when there is a problem I know where I can go to get good solid advice. They are also excellent at taking care of our vehicles on an ongoing process. Great service at a great price! Thanks Doug!
