I had a puncture in one of my tires, so I took my car to Ultimate Auto Repair, which is close to where I live. They were booked, but said they could at least put some air in the tire and schedule me to come back for repair. When the mechanic checked the tire, he found the spot and source of the puncture. Knowing it wouldn't hold air, he checked with his boss and was approved to remove the item that punctured the tire and plugged the tire for me right in the parking lot since all the bays were full. He also checked the air in all my tires. I am very grateful for his help! That is what I consider excellent customer service. I know they made an exception for me and I highly recommend them to others who need car repair.
We took my late fathers truck in to have a shake in the drivers side front diagnosed and to have the turbocharger wastegate vacuum hose replaced. After having the truck all day they called to say that the timing was throwing a code, cam shift positioner was throwing a code (in additional to the turbocharger wastegate , which was the only code showing the multiple times we ran it) and they needed an additional 3 hours to dx the shake in the front end but they felt is was probably the wheel bearing. Ultimate wanted an additional $365 to just dx the shake. We declined. We picked it up, and paid for the Turbocharger repair...no more codes being thrown mysteriously. We took the trunk to our regular mechanic (he was booked out a week at the time and we needed to not be down a vehicle is the only reason we went to Ultimate instead of waiting). He spent a day checking the timing, cam shaft etc, everything Ultimate said was "wrong" with it. All in fine working order...the shake... that Ultimate needed another 3 hours and $365 JUST to dx for us....a broken belt in the drivers side front tire. Just picked it up to head to get a new tire and the cost to have this mechanic look at all the items Ultimate said were wrong and to dx the shake $0.00! Ultimate also told us who ever changed the oil last way over filled it....they are the ones that changed the oil in October, but because the oil change was under my sons name, and not mine, they didn't see that, even though their sticker is on the windshield. When I let them know they are the ones that did the oil change suddenly the dip stick was just dirty and the level was fine. When my 18 year old son went to pick it up the items listed on what needed to be repaired did not fully match what they told me and my husband over the phone. Beware and get a second opinion or a first opinion before going here.
I wish I could tell you how their work is. The woman who answered the phone was so argumentative and short with me I gave up trying to even make an appointment. Customer service goes a long way....she had none.
After this shop took over K&J, I took my car here a couple times. Each time, they repaired the issues with my car but way overcharged comparatively to other surrounding shops. Beware of their prices and shop around before considering them for work on your vehicle.
Had an excellent experience at Ultimate Auto Repair in Spring Arbor for an oil change. The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and they treated me with honesty and respect. They even checked over a few things at no extra charge just to make sure everything looked good. It’s clear they take pride in their work — fast, fair, and dependable. I’ll definitely be back!
I was taking my car to another auto shop, but I’m a broke college student and it was a bit too expensive. My aunt called here, and they were able to get me a better quote. I was insanely surprised with how quick they were able to get the parts and finish my car. And the people up front that I spoke to were SO kind. The lady who helped me (I didn’t get her name but she was amazing!!) and the guy up front (I think he is Chris) we’re so helpful and they give the vibe that they really do care!! I am so happy with my car being fixed, I truly feel a difference. Thank you guys SO MUCH!
Ultimate did a great job with my car. I’d definitely recommend them. They replaced a brake vacuum pump that goes into the motor, brake pads and rotors.
Super friendly staff, they were able to diagnose and repair my car and get it back to me very quickly, with very reasonable pricing, plan to use them for all my maintenance needs going forward!
Dropped off truck close to their closing time. We weren't sure what the issue was .. got a call next morning around 10:30a with what the issue was and how much it would cost to fix. We OK'd the repairs to be done. We were able to pick up the truck later that day! They had fixed all four brake pads and rotors then had to also fix the front calipers as well. Under $1800 for it all. Glad it wasn't the gear box! Thanks for the quick turnaround! So glad we do not have to drive all the way to Jackson for good mechanics anymore.
I have taken 2 cars here one I thought was a wheel bearing and ended up being breaks. I had them time to do breaks and they were very cool about me coming to grab the car so I could do them myself. My second car I had them doing tires. A wheel alignment and rear springs. They called me to inform me the springs were broke and they suggest to replace them for the alignment. I knew they were broke but was unsuccessful on being able to get parts for them so I could fix them myself they said they could do them and for a very reasonable price. There tire prices were very fair as well. The rims I have on my car were very bent from pot holes I’m honestly surprised they held air still. They took the time to fix them and make them as close to round as they could again. For a wheel alignment, all 4 tires mounted and balanced, and 2 rear springs i didn’t have to spend an arm and a leg over. I hate having to take my vehicles to a shop unless they have something I don’t (alignment system and tire mounting) I plan on going back with any vehicle I have that I don’t have the time or want to work on myself for there reasonable prices, you don’t have to worry about BS that dealerships try to pull and they will go above and beyond what they have to do. Very happy and will return in the future
Unparalleled customer service! Tried to get a walk in with a rattling sound and they said they couldn't see me until the next day. Went out to my car and was sitting there on the phone when they came out, said they could hear it and knew what it was and fixed it right then!
Five stars isn’t enough for the service I received from Tim and the mechanics on Friday February 9th. I broke my serpentine belt on my way to Chicago and while I know they worked me in between the existing customers they had. I can not thank them enough and will definitely be back as this really is a full service place. Thank you again. I made it to Chicago and to my granddaughters birthday.
Scam artist they tried quoting my mother $900 for a alternator and battery when other shops in the area only want $500 and they got upset when she was getting quotes from other shops they said she was "being unloyal" sounds like extortion I'd stay clear of this one
Update it never needed an alternator in the first place the starter wire was hooked up wrong causing the alternator to malfunction, all USA car care did was charge $80 for labor!!! Definitely stay clear of this shop
When I called and tried to ask about the price and why it was so insane I got hysterically laughed at, then they threatened me by saying "we can take it off the lift right now" and when I said go ahead then they proceeded to tell me "good luck" in a spiteful way, they definitely tried everything to get that $900 when in reality it was a $80 job nothing but labor required
Great locally owned auto repair. Very customer service oriented and keep you updated on your repairs. Beat dealership prices by 30%. These guys are busy and I know why. Everyone who tries them keeps coming back.
Tim was a great help. We were from out of town for a car club. Our truck was having to be jumped every time we shut it off. Tim was able to fit us in to get us a new battery and send us on our way. Unparalleled customer service, and integrity. I brought my car in for an exhaust issue, and they provided a fair quote for parts replacement. But they also recommended how I could save a lot of money by having the parts repaired instead of replaced, even though it meant I'd have to go elsewhere. I have a lot of respect for a business that is willing to risk losing a sale, if it means helping the customer find the best solution for their problem.
We had a little bit of an emergency today with my daughter's back window on her car. The hinge that held the window, completely broke off. We were scrambling to try to fix it ourselves, but couldn't get the old hinge off! We called K & J with hopes that they could help us figure it out. Tim & Marino not only helped us get a corroded screw loose, they put the new hinge on for us as well! Guys, you did your "good deed" for the day!!! We are so grateful for your help!! That kind of service is hard to find. Will definitely be future customers!
I have a daughter attending Spring Arbor University. She needed some work done on her vehicle and I was unable to assist since we live 2 hours away from campus.
I decided to call K & J because they were close to campus. I cannot stress enough how pleased I was with K & J. Their staff was polite, professional, and they were fast with the repair and reasonably priced.

Paid for a brand new starter and had to replace 4 months later and noticied that it was still my old starter not new but they charged for a new starter! Sneaky and bad business!! I never thought twice until it quit again! So double check what they do if you let them work on your vehicle!!!
Place very busy only place in town does car repair. Now my car needed a lot but took a long time to get done. Rates though we're reasonable for the most part. Head mechanic helpful be friendly
Tried them out to see their service. The repairs was sufficient for the age of the vehicle. I was not expecting a miracle. Their weakness is knowing how long things will take. Both times i asked when they would be able to get to it. Both time i was told they could get to the next day. Both times i did not hear back until two days after i drpped it off. I am not complaining about the actual work. It was customer service and their lack of project management. Workmanship is how you keep customers. Customer service is how you retain them or lose them.
Kevin and his staff are the friendliest, helpful auto repair shop around. I am a customer for life after the awesome service they gave my company van. They got me back on the road fast while I waited. Thank you!
I called belle tire to get a quote and time frame to change a light bulb on my 13 Ford Edge, they told me it would be 59$ and a 2 hour wait..... I am so thankful I gave K & J Tire out in Spring Arbor a shot. After 10 minutes and 10 dollars I will be going here for ALL automotive repair. While waiting in the waiting room their staff is exceptionally friendly, later found out I was talking to the Owner and the Manager of the location. They just earned all my future business.....
