The folks here have always taken good care of us, been coming here for about 5 years. This time it turned out to be a loose wire connection. They told me about another part that sounds off and may be going, but didn't try to make me get it done today, and I only had to pay for the diagnostic (which was totally reasonable for a few hours of them looking into an unknown electrical issue and making sure there wasnt anything else causing the intermittent shorts)
Took my Kia Soul here a couple times, but the most recent visit really cemented that I want to continue going here for most automotive issues. As a woman I struggle to find a mechanic that doesn’t try to take advantage of me or talk down to me. At Mechanix, that doesn’t happen. Pricing is fair, repairs are transparent, and I genuinely believe that if for ANY reason they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with your car, they would tell you. They wouldn’t make up something just to take your money from you like so many other places do. I’ll definitely be returning.

I was involved in a car accident this morning (my fault pulling out of Flagstar) we were there like 25 minutes and an employee came over to me with a crappy attitude and said we needed to move our cars so customers can get in. First off rhere was enough room to get through had a car came,2nd the couple i hit was elderly not that you took into consideration that its a dangerous corner right here. Not that you offered us a safe place from other cars hitting her or I while directing traffic. I thought when youre in a car accident you stay put until the police arrive? Apparently not. Well Blackman showed up and parked in the exact same place as the accident. Just kind of rude you didnt care about our safety first. I wont be coming here for business!
I just had my car fixed at mechanics and I give them 10 stars ⭐ wow talk bout fast ! I’ve never gotten such great service in my life just simply the BEST ! I took my car in at 8:20am it was done before the time they gave me of 1pm I was shocked they called me back at 11:40 am n I’m thinking oh. O did they find something else ? Nope the guy says your car is all done ma’am ! Wow n my car is handling so much better n they even replaced my windshield wipers which I had been planning on doing n they did it n also fixed my broken sway bar n did my rotors n brakes yay i love Mechanix n from now on this is the Only place in Jackson mi I’ll take my car too hands down they’re above n beyond EXCELLENT !

The manager is the most honest gentleman I've ever encountered in this business. He gives an honest assessment of the vehicle trouble, the price is fair, and the work is always high quality. I feel fortunate to have found this shop. I highly recommend this place!
Seriously the BEST and most HONEST shop I've done business with! Jim looked over my vehicle after another person fixed it and something just wasn't right. It was making noises, he was able to fix it and didn't even charge me because it was an "easy" fix. He put in the work, and it was work, to find the problem but didnt charge me?!? And, he used some plastic weld product to fix my broken door on the inside. The cover seam was broken and falling off and caught my side every time I got out. Its like new! I've been taken advantage of before but these guys always do good, honest work. Highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks Jim

Great customer service! Jim is a real down to earth guy who knows his stuff and just wants to help you get back on the road, dropped my vehicle off after hours for an alignment and a new hard to reach part that I couldn’t do, and he had it ready for me the next afternoon. Very good pricing as well! My new go to shop for sure!
The BEST and only shop I’ll take my car to!!! These guys are thorough, honest, and do great work all for a fair price. Going in to a normal mechanic shop as a woman you always feel like you might get taken advantage of, but NOT HERE. Jim especially is the best!!! Thanks guys
My husband's mountaineer broke leaving us in a pickle and after calling this business they were able to get it end of day Wednesday and by 9am Thursday it was diagnosed and was fixed and we picked it up Friday for a fraction of what the dealerships wanted. We saved soo much thanks to them and the speed of the work was awesome. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. Your whole team are life savers.
My wife and I came in to Mechanix to compare a price quote from the local Ford dealership for repairs on her car. Hands down this place is by far the best repair shop I have ever been to. They made us feel very comfortable and welcoming. They were all very friendly and honest on what needed to be done. Also found other repairs that needed to be done that Ford did not find. Got her car in and out and saved us hundreds of dollars. Thank you to Jim and the guys! You are our new Mechanix!
I just bought a house very close to Mechanix and of course within my first couple weeks of being here I had car problems. Jim, the manager, is top notch! The team helped me get my car going again so i didnt have to tow it and within a couple hours had a new starter installed and my car back. It was fixed so quickly and done at a reasonable price. I feel very lucky to have found a great place that takes care of its customers and most importantly to me, doesn't take advantage of woman. Highly recommend this shop to all in the Jackson area.
Stopped in on the fly, had a bad break bulb and wrong tools. The awesome crew at MechaniX didn't hesitate to come right out, help me, and make sure I was good to go! Thank you SO much! I will be back and let my friends know how great you were too!
The owner and the other staff member who helped me were both very kind. They explain everything to me and even showed me the part that was bad. They were also willing to dig through my admittedly quite messy car to find my warranty paperwork.
I was quoted $5750 for a bunch of work my car didn’t even need at one shop. Mechanix charged me $1205. They were also quick to answer the phone and completed the work within the time frame they said.
I would recommend this shop to my friends and family.
Jim is the best!! As a single woman, I more than appreciate his honesty and his patience. When I have a need for a mechanic, Jim is always able to assist me either the same day or the following day. He always call prior to doing the work to give you his findings and the cost. I won't go anywhere else.

Took my car here to get my alternator/battery/electrical problem fixed along with a new wheel barring. He identified the problem quickly (THANKFULLY didn’t have to get a new alternator, which probably would have happened if I took it to someone with less experience) he found the issue, fixed that along with my wheel barring. Price was reasonable and they did quick work. My car drives like it’s brand new. Would highly recommend anyone considering a new mechanic to go here. Much appreciation for Jim and his staff.

Jim is the best!!! I work in Jackson but live 1.5 hours away. My car started vibrating while on the expressway on my way home. I found Mechanix and drove straight there.
