This is my best experience with a wrecker in a rural area in my driving career They are priced fairly & if it wasn't for what AAA wasted my time trying to perform, I would not have come across this business Thank You Josh for the tow & the sweet, but anxious dispatcher that made it all happen
I had the opportunity to meet Austin last week as a customer. I had to call Reed & Hoppes in the wee hours for an emergency tow. The dispatcher answered promptly, answered all of my questions and was professional. She dispatched Austin to my location, to which he arrived timely with an awesome attitude. Especially considering that he had been woken up in the middle of the night. He was knowledgeable and very careful with my EV that has special towing requirements. We enjoyed a nice conversation on the way to my destination and I'm so grateful for their service and Austin's great personality and expertise.
Driver who picked up the car was great, man that showed me to car to clean out was nice, ladies on the phone were rude every time I called and acted as if they were so busy she didn’t have time for me to explain anything. When I went to clean out car, woman asked a question and didn’t even give me a chance to respond before she rudely asked again. There was no thank you or please and just kept closing the slider. Terrible customer service and would not recommend except that their driver was super nice. Need some new office individuals.
Had the best truck driver Josh. He was so kind when he came to pick me and my car up when it broke down. Had a great converation while he gave me a ride to the repair shop. I can't thank Reed and Hoppes Towing enough for the great customer service not only on the phone, but in you drivers also. 100% recommend them to anyone. Thank you Reed and Hoppes.
Called for a truck and was at my house in 15 minutes. Driver was quick about the job and safe. Will use this service again. Prices are reasonable. Great staff to work with.
I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Not sure if anyone works here except the rude lady who answers the phone just to say "can you call back in an hour or two, because everyone is on break", so your car can sit in their lot for days before anyone "comes back from break". Between me, my insurance provider and our secondary tow driver, we all got that same answer for 3 days. 10/10 would never recommend this place.
The only reason this is a two star is because of the solid experience with the driver & second office lady. I have no desire to remember her name as she was purely rude, the main office lady kept requiring more and more information after we had already proved the car is mine. Pictures, registration and a drivers license and I even have the keys.
We were sent back and forth to get paperwork till 4:31 when the office lady tried to deny our service since we were one minute late. Then tried to make an excuse that the police won’t allow it, then tried to make the excuse no wreckers are available… 3 minutes later a very nice gentleman leads us back to the car after she said “I’m not even sure if they’ll be here in an hour.
Worst experience with a tow yard ever due to one lady, avoid at all costs. Sucks they’re the biggest company in the area
Dangerous drivers! Tow truck driver blew through an all way stop, merged onto highway then slammed on brakes in passing lane to cross median. Never used hazard lights. Almost caused multiple accidents in 30 seconds.

My husband was in a devastating motorcycle accident 3 days ago and is currently in the Trauma ICU fighting for his life. I called this tow yard to find out if they had his bike. I was completely drained, having been at the hospital by his side nonstop.
The woman who answered the phone showed no human decency, no compassion, and no understanding whatsoever. I understand you need the VIN number to look up a vehicle, but her tone was beyond rude and insensitive. When I asked a general question about whether they charge daily storage fees even if a bike is totaled, she just repeated, “I need the VIN number,” over and over with complete disregard for the situation I was in.
When I tried to explain again, she cut me off with a nasty attitude saying, “For the 3rd time, I told you I need the VIN number.” And when I finally lost my composure and told her how rude she was being, she sarcastically asked me, “Are you done?” I replied, “No, are you?” and she snapped back, “I’m about to be.”
I get that businesses have policies, but where is your humanity? I didn’t call to waste your time; I called because my husband is in critical condition after buying this bike and crashing less than an hour later. All I wanted was a general answer about your policies while I try to handle everything else falling apart in my life right now.
Bottom line: If you want to be treated with dignity and compassion in a traumatic situation, do not expect it from this place. They may know how to tow a vehicle, but they clearly don’t know how to treat people like human beings.
The administrative staff is extremely unprofessional and rude. They charged me 350 dollars stating that my vehicle was on its side and it had to be winched twice, which it was not. 150 dollar clean up fee when the debris was already cleaned off the road and put inside the vehicle before they arrived for a total of 500 dollars to get my vehicle back.
The staff also would not let me take a copy of the invoice OR take a picture of it. I explained to them that it is unlawful to be charging this much as the incident was less than 3 miles away from their location as well and the lady at the desk told me that "life isn't fair and its not my fault you got into and accident."
Great service!! I (25F) and my partner (21F) got a flat tire on the side of the highway. We were borderline clueless and fumbling our way through before we decided we needed to call for help. Joyce in the office was so kind and compassionate on the phone call! Then Mike came out and totally saved the day!! Our tire was stuck on & he didn’t give up. He successfully got the flat off and helped us complete the change! Everyone was so professional and speedy and really helped us out! Price was a little steep but I honestly would have paid anything for the service and helpfulness they provided us!
Stay away from this dishonest towing company. Joyce is not only extremely rude but lied and said she was the owner AND manager of the company when I asked about missing items after the tow. Filed complaint with BBB
Outstanding, friendly service! I only waited 15 minutes in sub-zero temps. Austin was kind, prioritized our safety, and, after determining he couldn't complete the repair, offered to wait with me for a flatbed tow. When he realized it would be a long wait, he managed the tow with his own truck, taking my car to my preferred tire shop and waiting with me until my husband arrived. Absolutely worst tow company ever the staff lie and jack prices up and refuse to give your car back. They have no idea what there doing and seem like miserable people and are extremely rude.
Rudest people I’ve ever had to deal with. First got rude with me asking about helping someone get their vehicle out of there, then when I found out the owner of the vehicle beat the tow truck to the lot, they said ooops sorry we are closed. And then charge when you’re not open? How? People can’t be magical geenies and obtain their vehicle without you there! Stop being so RUDE to customers!
While launching my boat at an unimproved dirt boat ramp on the Grand River my vehicle (minivan) rolled back and I could not get out. The water was right to the top of the rear bumper within an inch of flooding into the rear hatch. I shut the car off. The boat was already off the trailer and I unhooked the trailer and was able to drag it to the side. I was afraid the current might catch it and pull my vehicle further and deeper. My wife and I chocked the front tires with a large tree branch and used a tow strap to secure the vehicle to a nearby tree.
I Googled tow services near me and called Reed & Hopped. As soon as I explained to the dispatcher my predicament she said someone would be there in 20 minutes. Nicholas the tow truck driver was there in 8 minutes in a cloud of dust and flashing lights!
Nicholas winched me out and left my vehicle further up the incline to let any water drain out of the exhaust. The tailpipe had been at least half a foot under water.
Luckily my vehicle started right up and I don't believe any water got into the passenger compartment, but if you had seen it half sunk in the river you'd be as amazed as me.
Nicolas was kind, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Also the truck was probably the cleanest and most organized tow truck I've ever seen.
Disaster was averted. Many thanks to the quick response of Reed & Hoppes and Nicholas.
The lady at window was the most rude person i have come across at a business. Sits in the office behind the counter but refuses to help even a minute before the listed time on the office. Also this business is not open 24/7. Please correct it and hope someone else doesn't have a car shut down or accident near ionia.
I work in HVAC and Jan 12th 2024 my Work Truck got stuck three times in heavy six inch snow. I slid down a hill and almost over into a ditch. Paul from Reed and Hoppes picked my Work Truck up and brought it back to Lansing where I live and gave me a ride. There was no way my Work Truck was going to make it. Paul was awesome! Made me feel a lot better about my situation, got me home same, and we had some great conversations. Thank you Paul!
Did a road side call for fuel and they used pliers to remove the fuel filters and denied doing so!! Truck had been leaking fuel since the service took place.
VERY DEFENSIVE and it upset me..bad business.. it's not about denying the issue it's about fixing the problem going forward
My son ran his car off the road and a Reed & Hoppes truck just happened to come by. The driver stayed with my son for three hours until the police arrived. We paid a fair price to have the car towed to their lot and my son was dropped off at a local motel. The next day we had to have the car towed again to a local body shop and Reed & Hoppes did not charge us again. They went above and beyond. Thank you!
I broke down on 96 with my truck and gooseneck horse trailer. It was an extremely hot day and I had 2 horses in the trailer. Reed and Hoppes answered their phone immediately and arrived on-scene within 20 min. The driver was polite, competent and efficient. I highly recommend their services.

Had a flat tire on my Tahoe at i96 and Saginaw highway. Tow truck driver showed up and had my tire changed in 15-20 minutes. Very professional service. Will definitely use them again if needed.
Had a flat tire and needed assistance putting the donut on my car so i could get it to a tire shop. The servicer showed up fairly quickly but fee was a bit aggressive. $125 to put on a donut?!? There was some miss communication between myself and the service guy as to where we needed to reconnect once he was finished but price gouging is just bad business. He also could have been taking advantage of the situation because he knew i was a female in a desperate situation trying to get home which was quite a long from where the flat occurred
There needs to be an option for zero stars. This place is a joke. My brother was in a wreck Saturday. I called Sunday to get his belongings and was informed only HE could pick them up and that they were open Monday at 9:00am to do so. Got here today (Monday), along with my brother, who was EJECTED from his vehicle and shouldn't be traveling, who also had to travel over TWO HOURS to get here, only to be hung up on and told there is no access today because they have a funeral. They clearly KNEW yesterday when we spoke to them that they had a funeral today. There is an employee sitting next to me as I type this who said because he is new he cannot take us back to the vehicle. This is MADNESS. Worst business practice I have ever seen in my life. I am honestly in shock. I would be gracious about a death in the family had we been notified when we called YESTERDAY and had there not been an employee sitting NEXT TO ME right now. Now my brother has to travel back over two hours without obtaining his medications or belongings.
I had a blowout on my front passenger side tire on I-96 near Portland. I called Reed and Hoppes who sent the tow truck within 20 minutes. Robert, the driver, was so kind. He asked if I was okay, told me to wait in the cab of his truck to be safe. (Passing semis are intimidating when one is broken down on the expressway.). The cab was air conditioned and surprisingly clean. He brought me to Keush dealership and service garage, checked that they had a replacement tire for me, and had my very reasonable towing bill, $112, incorporated into my tire bill. He was the kindest and most professional young man I have met in quite awhile.
Our camper trailer came off the hitch on the busy expressway late on a Sunday afternoon. Thankfully, we were able to get the car with trailer to the side of the road. We called Reed and Hoppes. The tow truck arrived within a half hour and the driver (Jon S.) was very helpful, had a calm attitude, and got the trailer safely to the lot. We appreciated the professionalism displayed, and the helpfulness of the office staff. They were also very helpful in getting the trailer home safely the following day.
I would recommend this company. I had a tire blow out on 96 last night a round 2am just outside of Portland. Called here and asked if they could take me to the nearest place that could fix it for me first thing in the morning. Driver was every bit knowledgeable and polite. Talkative too for being the middle of the night. He knew exactly where to take me. Dropped me off at a nearby tire place called Keuschs and they were also great. Thanks for making an awful night just a little bit better .
