I mostly like this yard but the fact that I'm not a local, and the bank that issues their check will not cash that check without charging me $7 is truly so unprofessional for this scrap yard to not have worked out with that bank, that I'm truly astonished, and angry. I'm almost out of gas. Many scrap yards pay cash, or they arrange with their bank not to charge their customers check cashing fees as a favor for the thousands of dollars that they turn-over within that bank, each week. The fact that you haven't, or that the bank doesn't appreciate you enough to do that on their own, is very frustrating, to say the least. Had I sold that metal to Portalnd and went to their bank without an account there myself, they cash that without charging a fee. Because, WHY WOULD THEY CHARGE A FEE WHEN IT IS ISSUED FROM YOUR ACCOUNT THROUGH THEIR BANK!? Do they not trust YOU!?
We live in town & come here often to scrap, absolutely horrible mean people who work here especially the lady Lori at the desk. Very mean and unkind people every single time we come. The older guy in the back is always yelling and angry. Never had a good experience.
One star. My fiancé is a long time customer of Franklin Metals, frequently bringing very large loads in. He made a mistake today by not checking a refrigerator before unloading it and there was a small amount of food inside of it. He would have been happy to come back and clean it out (and he did) but upon arriving back to take care of it, he was banned from ever returning. Lori has been snobbish and rude on several occasions as well one of the employees that drives the equipment being downright lazy and acts annoyed by doing his job. It is a shame that good customers can be treated like this and are allowed to continue to do so. Being banned was probably a blessing in disguise. Do better Franklin…
ZERO stars brought 50pounds of clean brass they gave me price for brass breakage that place is trash and the employees are rude acted like they didn't want to do there job. ÑEVER again! Stay away from this place
Easy to use. Well organized. Friendly staff. Went there twice this week. $65 / GT (so for 1060 lbs got $30.76) for misc iron/steel such as Tin cans, appliances, cut up trailer
