Inconsistent pricing. This last time I had a few sheets of wood paneling and some door casing and she charged me $15. It didn’t even fill up the back of my Explorer. Maybe weigh the load for an accurate price? Or does that make too much sense? I paid less for a larger load just a few months ago. Won’t be going back here again.
Very easy access to dump your junk out of the back of your truck. No need to carry and have over the container wall. You just drop it into the container from your truck bed.
Checked website hrs & called Saturday morning says open till 12 noon. Showed up at 10:37am and was closed.
Seems to be a common issue from reviews.
Poor communication on their end.
Seems like I wasn't the only one to experience their poor communication on hours. Called and they didn't answer, hours says they are open both on Google and their website. Make an hour round trip drive to them to find out they are closed for an unknown reason.
Lazy business practice to not update your hours or have an automated phone line to tell the public actual hours or when they are closed for specific reasons.
Wouldn't recommend them since you can't trust them to be open when you get there.
Would not recommend called a week before talked to a lady had plans to dump drove 45 minutes justo he told I can dump because I’m from Gratiot county I was recommended to come by someone who lives in the same county and can dump makes no sense

I've updated to 5 star. The last time I went in, they accepted card & even stayed open a little after close on a Friday to let me dump

Great experience with Pitsch today. Visiting a landfill isn’t anyone’s favorite thing to do, but the young lady at the scale house made my day today. Great service and a great value, I’ll be sure to visit again if I’m in need
Love this place. Not only is the price the best in a 100 mile radius but every person I've interacted with has been great. The ladies at the window are so nice, and the guys in the yard are helpful and friendly. I pass by 2 other places just to come here. These guys and gals knows what they're doing and I appreciate them.
I've used this land fill for years, one time I didn't realize the switched to winter hours and where closed on saturday. Always funny and professional. Once was unloading a trailer full of shingles by hand and the loader operator was driving by and pushed the load off with the loader! wonderful to work with! A friends company has an account with them so I can usually drive in, weigh, dump, weigh out and leave...... so simple!
Why does downtown take cards but landfill out here dont.. but you will take a check that can bounce. Almost 2020 people. Hell I even take cards. Just do like Kent landfill add 3% extra
I left without even dumping my trash. I have a double axle enclosed trailer. It wasn't full. That's just what I have to haul with. They sent me into the landfill. At other dumps I am able to throw my trash into a large bin or a central location without risking my expensive tires. Not at Pitsch. Also, you will not receive worse customer service than you will experience here. It is only matched by their lack of cognitive ability in problem solving.
If you are a company that exchanges money with your customers in 2019 but don’t accept credit or debit cards, that should be clearly stated on your website. The way I found out was by driving from 35 minutes away to have your super unfriendly window attendant silently point, with pursed lips like I was an idiot, at the hand written sign in the window when I got my card out and tried handing it to her. When I told her I didn’t have cash she said “Well, we close at noon and won’t wait for you to close the gates.” Neat customer service!
I've received nothing but friendly service from all the ladies here. My dog loves to come along and get a cookie from the window too. Don't be like the dudes below...don't show up right before close and try planning your dump trips better, a nice new sign with operating days/hours is posted on the gate as well as their website.
I called Friday and asked if they would be open because I knew they were closed 2 Saturday's per month and I was told yes we are open 8 to noon. So I had a friend come to haul it and the gate was pulled and closed at 11. . I recommend calling just before you leave to make sure they are open. Besides that I was happy with the price and service in the past
Showed up 20 before close and lady said I would be locked in if I wasn't unloaded before close. Most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Change the hours on your website if your only open every other saturday.gp somewhere else this place sucks
Online says there open I show up with a trailer load and can't dump and nowhere else to take it! Can't reach anyone very very upset absoulty ridiculous!!
Had a dumpster delivered to my house for a roofing project, driver who dropped it off came to the door and asked where we wanted it placed. When I called to have it picked up they said they didn't know when they could pick it up. The day they came to pick it up the driver backed up and dragged it 6 feet through my yard and then picked it up on the truck. The driver kicked some larger clods of dirt back in the large trenches and said that was the best he could do. The manager was very rude and said that is normal and it happens sometimes.
I went to the dump today at 930, the website and google both said they would be open from 7-12. The trailer I borrowed, full of garbage now has to be borrowed longer. I found this very deceiving and invonvienient. I also know that every time I go to the dump, every time, the staff seems very inconvieniced and rude- and I've been there 12+ times. Not that I want more landfills, but options would be nice. I will be going to Pierson from now on.
I arrived tweny minutes before closing. The woman working lectured me about my timing and suggested if I made her work late that she would make me pay her overtime.
