My insurance towed my car here before appraisal. They never was asked for my keys. This location broke into my car, hotwired it, ransacked my belongings, and stole the cash from my console. They then photographed it and listed it for auction. They were only supposed to store it until my insurance did a estimate. I never gave permission for anything other than moving it to storage. Never agree to have your car towed here, this place doesn't respect ownership.

I want to sincerely thank Copart for going above and beyond during a difficult time. I was in an accident while visiting Michigan—far from home—and my car was later deemed a total loss. I had already returned home and wasn’t expecting to recover anything left behind in the vehicle. But once the car was delivered to Copart, they not only handled everything efficiently, they also collected and shipped back all of my belongings from the vehicle—every last item. I can’t express how much that meant to me. In a stressful situation, Copart’s care and professionalism made a big difference. Thank you for treating me with such respect and consideration!

This is very possibly the worst company I have ever dealt with. No communication. No consideration for the customer’s time. Stay far far away from these people.

Was here a few weeks ago and it went nice and smooth, just make sure to schedule your transport with the transportation app otherwise it may make it harder to get your vehicle

If I could leave a 0 star review I would. Working with these people has been nothing but chaos. My insurance company told me that Copart was the company they work with for total loss, so after my car accident that’s where it was taken. I’ve been without a car for 3 weeks now, and took it upon myself to call them to ask for updates regularly. Each time I call, they tell me the same thing (images have not been taken yet) and the insurance is waiting on those. Everyone at Copart was pretty nice over the phone until today. Maria from the Lansing location took an attitude with me, was not helpful, told me go talk to my insurance, yet my insurance is waiting on them. When I asked to speak to a supervisor she said they were out of office and WOULD NOT give me any contact info to reach them myself. This company is a JOKE. Take your business elsewhere!!!

I got an offer from Copart for 800 dollars. Carvana gave me 1300. The difference is so ridiculous, and it made it very obvious Copart was trying to rip me off. I'm glad I didn't sell to them.

My car was totaled and sent to Copart on 10/14/24. I called to give them a list of my belongings, and was told it was in Wayland. I live in Lansing, so I figured I would just wait for things to be sent. It was a list of sentimental items, including a pair of sandals that belonged to my deceased mother. I had kept them under the driver's seat I've ever owned since she passed 20 years ago. After a few weeks, I called to confirm they had my belongings, and went through the list with them again. Two weeks later, when I called, I offered to finally just go and get the items....and was told the car was moved to Lansing just 4 days after it arrived in Grand Rapids. So, a few days later, I went to go get my things in-person. They brought the vehicle up and said all my belongings would be in the bag in the back. They weren't, and the car was apparently cleaned out. I went inside, in tears, and after a little conversation between reps, it turned out the bag was sitting just behind the counter (after I had waited for 40 minutes for the car to be brought up in the first place). I opened the bag, and saw some of my belongings....along with all the bottles, cans, and some trash that had been on my floor. I closed the bag....I wasn't going to dig through a bag mixed with belongings and trash that was on their counter...and went through it when I went home. No sandals. I called, and let them know what had happened. They said they would check the car, and "put an order in" for that to be done. I was to receive a return call that never came. It was then the holidays, and life got busy....and I just gave up.

Had an interesting experience this round. Came to preview 2 run & drive vehicles from my watchlist in person, but only one started up. Wait time was about 30 mins & I was chaperoned to the vehicles after loader brought vehicles up to the front. Won 1 of the vehicles the next day & it was delivered 4 business days later.

This is for copart in whole not just lansing location. As a dealer tried to renew my acct. was told my sales tax license couldnt be used because it doesnt have the same address as my sales lot. Wait on hold for 30 minutes because for some reason if you pay your fee with a debit card you cant request a refund online. I use these same documents with ACV, open lane , manheim and adessa auctions with no problem. Fees are ridiculous anyway. I will just stick to the dealer auctions i guess. Sorry you could be missing out on alot of sales from a reputable dealer.

this Copart trying to sell for me their vehicles without bidding on them and one of the vehicle was 2008 and they told me I did bid on them once I did not bid on them and another car that was trying to sell to me 2013 Dodge and that car the airbag was damaged and even the front end and end is all damaged and I did not bid on this vehicle because their website was frozen on June 21 and I did call and explain that issue the website was frozen but they did not listen to me when I start with Copart I did deposit $400 and $249 for my membership Copart and I had a deal the $400 was refundable but unfortunately Copart went against that deal and also I did not bid on any Vehicles since 2 years ago and now Copart charge me $1,200 for no reason and Copart they tell me they can give me my $400 refundable back and they told me they cannot refund me the $400 until I pay the amount because I did not take those vehicles and they are forcing me to take those vehicles for no reason and I did not so I highly recommend Copart 0 out of five star in Lansing Copart because they are trying to make business with their damage cars

Not worth the headache. Stay away. Copart itself is great, my friends and I have bought at least a dozen vehicles from the Michigan locations over the past few years, but the Lansing yard is THE WORST. The front desk employees are failures. They are miserable people who will not help you or show you an ounce of respect. Firstly, they canceled my delivery because I was “outside of their range”, which is understandable but inconvenient. That “delivery range” information is not posted anywhere. The Detroit and Flint locations have BOTH delivered to the address that Lansing refused to deliver to (the Lansing yard is same distance away as the Flint yard). Next, I showed up with a rented trailer to received the vehicle I had won, which clearly stated in multiple places that it CAME WITH KEYS. The keys were clearly visible in the interior auction pictures, zip tied to the steering column where they should be. When I arrived, the keys were missing. Numerous front desk employees informed me that “keys are stolen all the time” because their “yard workers are unsupervised”. They were nowhere to be found in the vehicle. I had to pay a mobile locksmith $250 to make a new key for my vehicle, COPART DID NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS. They were unsympathetic and offered no solutions to this problem created by their own worthless employees. The Detroit and Flint yards keep the keys to their inventory vehicles locked inside the office, and they must be checked in/out securely. The Lansing location DOES NOT SECURE THEIR KEYS because it’s “not worth their time”. Completely unacceptable. Additionally, the windshield on my vehicle was BROKEN by a Copart staff member who opened the hood aggressively, shoving the hood into the windshield and cracking it severely. A replacement windshield was $500, COPART DID NOT REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS EITHER. Do NOT bid on vehicles from this location. The staff are rude, useless, and incompetent. They deserve every second of the verbal abuse that they get on a daily basis.

I had and accident on Halloween of this year. I lost my driver's license in the mess and after searching everywhere else I did some digging and found where my truck was taken. I called copart in Lansing and not only did they have my license they are going to mail it to me. Thank you so very much

I've been buying vehicles from Copart for 15+ years, this is by far their worst location to deal with. Multiple vehicles are labeled "yes has keys" and even see them in the pictures. But go to pick the vehicle up, and all of a sudden keys are gone, management won't do a single thing about it.

My vehicle was towed their by my insurance company. They threw some of my personal belongings to the back of my car, but they stole the rest of my belongings. When I reached out to customer service they had every excuse in the book. They took important items including clothes of my kids, money that was in the middle and personal mail with my name on it, charger to my phone and. Important paper from when my mom passed. As if totaling my vehicle was not enough. These people are shady. The manager is a disgrace.

Stay away , if your purchasing a car go check it out in person , if they say run and drive it doesn't mean that . They inflate the condition so it can attract more money so they can get it sold . They only profit on vehicles sold . I sent my vehicle here to sell and I attached the rear bumper in the trunk because it was damaged and fell off. When I seen the lot ID of my vehicle running they attached my bumper back on purpose to make it seem it had less damage. I did not want to rip anyone off or make it look any better then what it was . I already got paid my insurance company so just from seeing this I can imagine how they teach there staff members to run this business.

My vehicle was totaled and my insurance company had it towed to Copart Lansing. I called, I was told my belongings would be in the back of my vehicle. When I arrived much of my possessions were thrown in the back of my vehicle but many things were MISSING. When I went to the desk COPART didn't know anything about that????? Also they had an envelope with some of my important documents in an envelope behind the desk. Had I not realized. I would have driven an hour home before I realized it. DO NOT DISPOSE OF PEOPLES PROPERTY WITHOUT OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO RETRIEVE FIRST.

BUYERs BE AWARE, My VIHECLE was almost picked up by somebody else, had I didn' t show up at the moment that the lefter was puting it on a towing car who apparently was intending to steal it. It was stealing situating because he told the lefter that it was his. My recommendation for copart to avoid such loophole (possibility of theft) is to send the the ID number of the buyer to the lefter who would in turn ask the buyer to show him the ID so that he can compare and determine if that person is the true buyer.

I dropped my original title off as per instructions in my insurance claim… office staff remembers me… but it’s funny they forgot to scan in my document or even write down the tracking number of the package stalling my insurance claim!!! They’re great and easy to get ahold of people but they’re not taking any responsibility other then verbally saying it’s their fault IM STUCK IN THIS STATE BECAUSE OF YOU

I’ve purchased several cars from Copart. The people are friendly and always helpful. If there’s one thing that could be changed is if they loaded cars a little faster and would load single trailers before car haulers so they don’t have to sit for hours

Truck listed as runs and drives. Drove 2 hours to pick it up and it doesn’t even start! Timing chain broken. Avoid this place. Bunch of liars

Ridiculously slow .. Been waiting for over an hr for two motorcycles . would not recommend anyone to come wait for this long. Copart needs to step up there game . a little over a year ago they had a good loader operator .. Everyone knows who that was ..

Enjoyed the Experience of Purchasing a vehicle from Copart Online Auction in Lansing MI. Staff was very helpful.

Bought a vehicle from them. Called to get a new piece of paperwork that was done wrong and I was told to bad. So I guess the only way to get this resolved is to contact their corporate office, the better business bureau, Michigan state police and a lawyer about a fraud case. You charged me for title work and you didn't do anything. All I want is this fixed.
