Dropping it down to four due to the fact the phones go ignored after a certain time in the day.
I was calling with a general question regarding scrapping a vehicle another day. Its beyond frustrating when the receptionist of a company decides they dont have to fulfill their job duties after a certain time of the day.
My metal wasn't weighed correctly by Ulysses. He made me unload and sort everything myself. He was extremely rude and lazy. Ill never come here again. I pointed out his laziness and he made weight adjustments so I wouldn't get as much money as I should have.
Shafted me 3 times had my car scheduled for pickup and they never showed up or answered any of my phone calls. Left me stranded knowing I live 45 minutes away from the pickup location. Waited over an hour for them each time. On the 4th attempt after they finally showed up and didn't offer me any more for my vehicle for the inconvenience. When they finally showed up they acted as if there was a chance they weren't going to take the vehicle. Not a pleasant experience at all. Horrible company but most of the people behind the phones were very nice.
Great experience here. Had many types of metal and the staff was helpful getting me to where it all needed to go. Payout was quick and easy and the clerk was courteous.
Dropping off our non-functioning dehumidifier and vacuum cleaner was quick and easy! We even got paid a small amount instead of having to pay other recycling places due to the refrigerant in the dehumidifier!
Great place to recycle all industrial metals. They also take E waste.

I noticed a comment on a Facebook page for someone that would pay cash for cars. My fiance has had his previous car sitting in our driveway for almost 4 years. We even had it towed from our last house to our new one. So it was sitting for at least 5 years total.
Austin from Padnos commented on someones post about needing to get rid of a car. So I messaged him and said he would send someone out and pay us cash for it! I was so excited to get our full driveway again! Highly recommend. Super nice and easy to work with. Thank you Austin and Padnos crew!! I will tell everyone about you guys!
This is the worst possible location to go to that padnos owns, the staff are extremely rude, give you a feeling that they're entitled to treat you poorly and over and above the overall corporation supports the poor behavior this location.
And after speaking with several other people in the general business have decided to stop doing business with padnos and Lansing because of the general rudeness of the employees
I took 9 lbs of aluminum cans to padnos I only got 10 cents a lb so it's a rip off and total waste of time to collect over 100 cans to only get 90 cent for all will be looking for a new scrap yard with better prices
So Kevin the guy that loaded me was great. The manager who patrols the compound with the green hat was great. Everybody is so professional and clean and polite it's hard to fathom this is a scrapyard.
They worked with my schedule and fast response time Austin was great to work with and they actually showed up to get it where all the other places I contacted never showed.
This was my first time using PADNOS and was unsure of how the scrapping process worked. Gunnar and Shaun were super helpful and made the whole process quick and easy! I will definitely be back.
I needed to get rid of my dead equinox out of our daughters yard. Austin made this process fast and simple. He kept in contact with me to make sure the job was completed. He gave me the exact amount I asked! The guy who showed up to tow it away was amazing, friendly and had the cash amount I wanted for it. Overall I would have to recommend this company for sure!! Padnos makes the metal recycling process as easy as possible. Quick steps/tips for a first timer:
1.) Drive your car onto the scale and wait for the attendant (through the intercom) to ask for your name. They'll record your vehicle's initial weight.
2.) Drive forward and you’ll see a building on your right. Stop, get out, and put your nonferrous (non-magnetic) metals on one of the flat carts provided in the receiving bay.
3.) Bring your cart into the receiving bay and the attendant will weigh the metals and ask for your name again.
4.) If you have any magnetic metals, you'll then drive your vehicle towards the big yellow inspector sign. Check in with the attendant at the entrance of the scrap yard. They'll ask for your name again.
5.) Don't go straight into the yard. Take a left and put your metals into the large pile of unsorted metals.
6.) Now that you've unloaded everything, follow the one-way sign and head to the outbound scale (next to where you were weighed the first time). The attendant (through the intercom) will once again ask for your name.
7.) After your vehicle has been weighed, you can head to the office parking lot (turn right).
8.) Go to the desk, and the office folks will ask for your ID. If it's your first time, they'll have you scan your thumbprint as well.
9.) Once you sign, they'll give you your receipt, which has a barcode on it.
10.) Cash out at the atm by scanning the barcode.

Worked with Austin Hughes to pick up a scrap car for me from Owosso. He was so friendly and made the whole thing completely effortless! Also, the tow truck dispatch team deserves a mention they were patient when I ended up needing to get the actual Lein paper from the bank, kept in touch, friendly, and on time with cash in hand. The experience from start to finish was stress free.
I’ve been going here for the past 50 years and have had nothing but good experiences. I went in last Friday and had to have a lot of help sorting my scrap to put it all in the right place, but the employees didn’t mind. Great costumer service!!!!
I would not support this company for my recycling needs. This company consistently terrorizes the neighborhoods behind them with thunderous smashing & banging sounds from as early as 5:30am to close. They aren't held accountable for this and it makes quality of life in this neighborhood poor. They also don't care that they're doing this. I've tried to reach someone to speak about this issue multiple times and have never gotten a straight answer.
Tried to scrap my car. Set up appointment to get it picked up and after 40 minutes passed our agreed upon time I had to leave. Maybe it was the towing company but Padnos did nothing and then I rescheduled for yesterday from 3pm-5pm and not a single word again. It's just bad business, they wasted my time, and hope this review helps someone else.
Had to get rid of some clunkers, and the time I talked to Austin Hughes to when they picked up my cars, everyone was friendly and efficient. Got a great price too!
Sold a scrap vehicle to them, they came and picked it up quickly. They loaded the vehicle and paid me cash, no waiting for a check to clear. Austin was professional and the process was easy.

I been going to padnos for at least 15 years it's changed a lot it's gotten easier much quicker than it used to be I moved away and came back it's good to see familiar faces I always like familiar faces I spend a lot of time in non ferrous and the people who have that job has to have patience with me because I always have a mess of stuff and they help me sort stuff out I wish you guys went back to open all day Saturday because I was getting used to sleeping in on Saturday and still not to have worry about being late .But I understand everyone needs a day off I want you all to have a merry Christmas and happy new year there a great staff I will keep coming back to you guys!!!!
You'd understand how the staff here could be rude because of their frequent dealings with drug addicts, turning in stolen propane cylinders and catalytic converters. But they could not be more courteous, or friendlier! Our family collects together all the recyclable scrap metal we've set aside annually. Padnos pays the prevailing rates for the various categories of metals and the workers are patient and helpful.
Good place to scrap. Clean driving areas, and friendly and helpful workers in the yard. Awesome ladies in the office. 10 out of 10 would drop a load here again!

I drive from the Jackson area because I'd rather deal with the folks in Lansing than in Jackson. Everyone's is always very I've and the workers seem to really like their jobs. Very friendly atmospherea, they make people feel comfortable coming to their facility. Great Job!!!!
Nice folks and a fair price for scrap metal. You dive in, get weighed, drive up to the inspection station and they tell you where to go. Last weigh station toward the back and out the back side drive. Then drive around to the front building office to check out and receive payment. Scrap copper, aluminum, brass, lead, etc is weighed separately in an enclosed building.
Place is the BEST! Needs to be more descriptive on how you go about the whole thing, there’s just a drive up and a telephone. If it’s ur first time there, there’s NO DIRECTIONS on what to do. I was def lost my first time.but people were friendly n did come out and help me. Went extremely easy from then on. That’s about only thing I think could improve on.they pay very well, I was caught off gaurd how much I got the first time. EXTREMELY easy process to get ur money too! More places need to be like that. Never a line to wait to get ur money either. People at window are EXTREMELY nice and helpful. Only place I go to when taking scrap, don’t care if any place actually did pay more, I’d still go here! HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE! A+++++
Do not grade material took 200 lbs car a.c. coils and radiators. With plastic tanks 15. 47 dollars 5 pcs alum 5.57. 4 converters 200.00 + got 90.00 did not look at all. Shock comes when you cash out no recourse 13 alum wheels clean. Docked. Have DEALT with buying not selling Thought to be very reputable. CHEATS THEY ARE
