This company is completely unacceptable.
My car was towed from a parking spot I pay for in my own apartment complex, with all required stickers clearly displayed. There was absolutely no valid reason to tow my vehicle. I was forced to pay $300 to get it back and was told to file a complaint for a refund.
That was 5 days ago.
Since then, I have called multiple times and have received no response, no follow-up, and zero accountability. Every time I call, I’m met with hostility and disrespect. One employee hung up on me without explanation. Another responded sarcastically and implied there was nothing that could be done, saying it was “management” and that the complaint line basically leads nowhere.
If the mistake had been handled professionally, I could have had some patience. But being wrongfully towed, charged $300, ignored for days, and treated rudely is completely unacceptable.
This feels less like a mistake and more like being taken advantage of. I would strongly advise anyone dealing with this company to document everything and be extremely cautious.Feb 05, 2026 -
I can confirm the other reviewers horror stories. If you live at the Wyatt or the Paddock they will wrongfully tow your car even if you've done everything right. Be sure to also leave a bad review with any apartment complex that does business with such a blatantly fraudulent company until such time as they terminate their contracts with them.

These people were amazing today! They were friendly, clear, prompt and immediately helpful. Got my car towed within 30min on the busiest snow day of the year!! Thanks to the entire Graham team!

Our vehicle was towed from The Paddock apartment complex despite being parked based on the property’s published parking map, which clearly indicated the area as visitor parking. The parking lot was snow-covered at the time, and there was no visible signage indicating that visitor parking did not extend to that portion of the lot.
When we attempted to resolve the issue, Grahams was unresponsive despite multiple outreach attempts. The explanation provided was simply that we “should have asked the person we were visiting,” even though the leasing office was closed at the time of arrival and the only guidance available was the online map provided by the property.
After researching further, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident. There are numerous complaints describing nearly identical situations at this same apartment complex, where vehicles were towed after relying on the map rather than unclear or nonexistent signage.
This feels predatory and misleading to residents and visitors who are genuinely trying to follow the rules. Towing based on ambiguous guidance and then refusing to engage afterward is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone dealing with this company or parking at properties they service.Jan 21, 2026 -
This company is engaging in predatory business practices and is scamming people out of hundreds. They illegitimately towed my car from its parking spot, after filling out forms and hours of waiting, they finally waived the fee $300 CASH ONLY of course. and allowed me to pick up my car.
After about an hour of driving between my home, Portage, and East Kalamazoo, I finally picked up my car. Everyone along the way was rude, and their reasoning for towing my car in the first place was incorrect and went against Kalamazoo's own city ordinances. I missed an entire day of work for this mess, and received no apology, financial compensation, etc. This is an awful company.Jan 14, 2026 -
Great service! Jen was very helpful and friendly on the phone!. Got to the impound and Tinkey and Kyle were great too! Thank you guys! Very friendly people. They pulled my customers crashed vehicle out for me so it was easier for me to load. Thank you !

Take your business elsewhere. This company preys on hard working young people who follow the rules. My son had an appropriate visitors pass and parked in the correct location within his girfriend's apartment complex parking lot. After working all day on Christmas, they towed his car CHRISTMAS NIGHT! Again, he had followed all of the complex rules. They made a shady decision he now has to fight to get 300+ dollars of his hard earned money back. He was made late for a family gathering the next day (in order to get his car and not be charged even more) which was the only holiday he actually had off during the Christmas season. Shame on you Graham's Towing! I hope he takes you to small claims court or you get investigated by the news.

Shady at best. Pretty sure they're in bed with hunters ridge apartments. Towing tenants cars who didn't have updated residence stickers and apartments said they told people month's in advance about new stickers but no emails were sent as they promised. If you need a tow please use anyone but this company!!!!! No dignity!! They apparently think because they are needed in the community they're irreplaceable. Show them them they are not!!!!

Obviously, the only people who like towing companies are towing companies themselves.
$300 cash only. Had to go to two separate locations and in total took about an hour and a half to get my car back. BruhDec 05, 2025 -
My wife slide off the road & got stuck in a snow bank. Graham's was professional, courteous, & went above & beyond. We were very pleased.

I locked my keys in my trunk, the lady that answered the phone was super nice. It took about 30 minutes for the driver to come and he was nice and fast. Great experience in an embarrassing time.

Rudest people ever. I called several times after waiting about two hours for my someone to get my car to get released after paying $300 for my car back. Like how are you gonna get mad because you told MY car. It’s not hard to do your job.

My boyfriends car was towed by them and they stole his near $200 dollar speaker, an apple carplay which was still in its box, they left styrofoam and a piece of the cardboard in his car. His atlas battery, its charger and an accessory to it. A big black charging box. They took off his custom exhaust too! Very overpriced, with very long waiting times.

1 star because I am forced to rate in order to leave a review. Jamie and company, what an absolute dumpster fire of a business. Never experienced such bottom of the barrel consumer interaction. Daughter’s car was towed, asked for proof of the car being in parked in a “tow away” zone-Jamie said they do not have to. I eventually called the police to assist as Jamie and his dispatcher refused to provide proof-when the officer arrived, Jamie continued saying my questions had been answered and eventually told me to “pay your bill or die” Astounded that this absolute embarrassment of a business has been able to operate for 50 years-something needs to be done considering they appear to be predatory in their business practices, almost stalker like as much as they pray on college kids. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!

rude and scammers!
lady at the window has a terrible attitude. $300 to get your car back after being towed for a couple hours. can’t use card but their atm is OUT OF SERVICE. sent to 3 different locations just to get car back. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!Sep 29, 2025 -
I had a regrettable experience with Grahams Towing that I feel compelled to share. The customer service was notably lacking in empathy and professionalism. I interacted with James Graham, as well as two other unnamed representatives, and unfortunately, all interactions were marked by poor communication and a lack of warmth. This made an already stressful situation even more challenging. I hope Grahams Towing can work on improving their customer service in the future.

Don’t ever give this place your money. It’s a complete scam thru and thru and the owner of the business should be ashamed of himself. I recently found out this towing company does sweeps thru apartment places like copper beach at 5-6 in the morning. Knowing these are college kids. I came here from an hour away to feed my girls animals got here at 9pm. Slept here and went to leave and my car was gone. Told me they picked it up at 5:38am?! Then charged me 240 dollars to come get it. Like the sleaziness of this place.

Tracy was a great service provider when my bmw threw a serpentine belt. He took the time to look at the special towing instructions in the manual before winching it on the flatbed. He took extra care with my vehicle with 4 pts of contact with strapping and securing the vehicle. He was very personable and made what normally is a bad experience much more easy going.

⭐ 1 star (only because zero isn’t an option)
Absolutely disgraceful. This towing company is the textbook definition of predatory. Poor signage, unreasonable towing, and when you do track them down? You’re met with hostility, outrageous fees, a cash-only policy (yes, in 2025), and the cherry on top: you have to travel six miles away to pick up your car after paying. Convenient, right?
Their customer service is rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in doing anything other than extorting as much money as possible from unsuspecting drivers. This isn’t towing for safety or order—this is towing as a business model built on deception.
If you're a property owner considering working with them, just know: this is who you’re partnering with. And to the towing company itself? You’ve earned every word of this (and more).Aug 02, 2025 -
Stole my vehicle from my verifiable place of residence. Charged a ridiculous fee and then forced me to wait over an hour to retrieve my vehicle from their impound lot after receiving payment. Lady handling the phones hung up on me when I called for assistance at the impound lot.

Called Grahams for a tow to a local repair shop, Tracy was an excellent help and did an awesome job getting the car hooked up and dropped off quickly and efficiently. Also was very flexible given some challenges getting in and out of our driveway and the parking lot of the repair shop. Thanks Tracy!

Update! It did appear to be a rusty oil pan, possibly starting leaking bc of the angle it was picked up at. Either way we were treated like criminals for their mistake.
They picked up my son's car at his apartment complex for no reason. They didn't even have the contract with The Stables. So after he was able to find his car and pick it up it came back leaking oil which it absolutely had not before. Now they are trying to say it was a patched rusted oil pan. I bought the car with 40k and my son and I have changed the oil ouselves everytime. The police and BBB have been contacted. I would not use their services if my life depended on it.May 20, 2025 -
Terrible experience. Sent us to two different addresses, lied about prices, and took them an hour to actually give us our car back AFTER we already paid. Towed my car at 1am after being parked at my friend’s apartment for only 5 hours. There was no more visitor parking. They expect payment in exact cash. $245 to get my car back. Horrible at answering the phone. No voicemail box available. They hung up the phone on us three times.

Worst company and customer service I've ever encounter!
My step son is a student at Western and lives in frat village. Earlier this week he went to leave for work and come out to find his car missing. Mind you, he was at his apartment and parked where he was supposed to be. He had to call around to locate his car, when he got ahold of this company they informed him that they did have his car and it was taken by mistake amd that they were not even supposed to be in his parking lot. He then got a ride to get his car but after he got home he noticed a massive oil leak.
He calls the company back to inform them of this new discovery, they said they would come back to pick up the car again and look at it in their shop. When the guy gets there to pick it up he asked our son to sign a waiver but apparently didn't have any forms in his truck and made a hand written one....
Now at this point everyone we have talked to have been very polite and apologetic. After not hearing back from them my husband calls yesterday to follow up. The man we spoke with yesterday immediately acted like he knew nothing of what had happened and tried to assure us the car was not taken by mistake, a blatant lie on his end as they have already admitted to it. After my husband pressed the matter the gentleman proceeded to give him a heavy sigh and state the the oil pan looked rust and it wasn't their fault. When I tried to say something he interrupted me saying "listen, I don't need two people yelling at me". We left the conversation at he would "talk to someone " and give us a call the next day.
Jump to today, they still won't admit they are at fault and are refusing to repair the damages they did to our son's car. We have now had the car towed to our mechanic to be looked at because there is no way we will give them our business.
We have tried to contact the police but was told it was a civil matter. I can only assume this is how they have been able to conduct their business this way after reading the other reviews this seems to be a re occurrence and I'm assuming no one wants to pay for legal fees.
I hope you have the day you deserve and know that karma will always come around and that your conscience doesn't eat you up at night knowing you're running a sleazy scam over there.

Took ridiculously long. Had to drive to the place, drive to my parked car in the tow lot to retrieve me wallet from my car, drive back to the place buy my car, pay the $10 service fee to get exact change because they do not give change back. We have waited a total of 2 hours and 45 MINIMUM. I completely understand i’m in the wrong for parking at the wrong place but this process is completely ridiculous. Called asking for a ETA and they lie every time saying “5 minutes depending on traffic.” I understand with this job you may deal with angry people but you are completly setting them up to be upset with such a terrible process. Milking people for their money. Graham Towing will charge you everywhere they can and make the process painfully difficult simply, because they can.

On 3/15/25 I was parked at the Wyatt Apartments in Kalamazoo, MI. I parked in what, I believed was visitor parking. In my personal opinion, the signage indicating this is misleading to me. In less than 12hr, Graham's Towing seized my vehicle, without warning, in the early morning hours of 3/16 at 0455. The next morning I had to walk around the property trying to find any kind of sign indicating which towing company serviced this lot, as the apartment's office was closed. (Evidently there is a sign at the front entrance that I did not see. I do believe they should post this info by every single visitor lot). I even wondered if my car was stolen. Eventually, after calling multiple towing companies, I found my vehicle. After driving to the towing office, I had to pay a fee of $285. You have to pay in cash and cannot use a card. Since it was a Sunday and no banks were open to get exact change from my only option was to use the ATM outside their window. I chose to avoid that because I didn't want to pay an ATM fee. So I gave the front desk secretary $300 that I had on hand, and she would not give me change. I understand if this is their policy, but I personally find this unreasonable. Then I went to the second location to pick up my car. I took photos/videos of the damage. At the end of the day, my total damages were $1,783. I have spent the last two weeks calling Graham's Towing, being transferred to management, and leaving voicemails. I never received a call back. Because I had to file with my insurance, there is a good chance my rates will now increase. I have spoken with local police department's and learned a lot about the company and its practices. The reviews on google and BBB from other people are of a similar nature. To my personal knowledge, which may be false information, this company is primarily contracted out with apartment complexes--take that for what you will. I strongly suggest any one who has their vehicle towed takes photos/videos of their cars and files a police report or at least calls to discuss the incident/any information they can give you on their previous experiences/knowledge about Graham's Towing....

Charging $240 to get your car back from them after they rip it out of the lot in a college town is actually insane. The $30 add-on per day is also absurd. The woman who I spoke to on the phone also wouldn’t have given me any details on fees and how to get my car back if I didn’t ask. They were quite punctual when we had to go to the OTHER LOT 15 mins away to get my car, but I would strongly advise against ANYONE giving this place any business whenever possible.

Got my car stuck driving on a road which I thought was open. Whelp, it was not, cause I'm a dumb idiot. Long story short the kindest tow driver came quickly (15 minutes) and pulled me out. I wish I had gotten his name but forgot to. He had to move his rig a few times to line it up as it was a tricky recovery. But he was courteous and professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Thank you for saving me from myself.
