From my experience the people are nice but either I have the worst luck in the world or my chains being pulled. had a used vehicle inspected, before purchase no engine lights, no issues with timing or anything. They tell me manifold leak they can fix, I buy the truck, drive it for week no issues not one. Then I take the truck for the manifold to be done, get it back a few days later and now I have engine codes and other issues. Called about it they offered to run codes and look into it. But I dont wanna take it back there im worried to have them look at it again. Things not even drivable and they told me it was decent truck for the price and then even fixed something on it, now i can't even drive it.. So..I guess up to you to go here. could have been existing issue but I drove it for an entire week no issues no engine lights...
These guys are world class! My gf and i got in a fender bender coming up here. They took the time to see us, explain to us what is wrong, the pros/cons of driving the vehicle home, and some michigan specific stuff we didn't know. They really took care of us at short notice and we are really thankful!
We can’t recommend Leelanau auto enough! The work the did on our vehicle was well priced & timely. Tim and the entire staff took great care to keep us looped in on the parts arriving and the status of our repair. We are so thankful to have such a wonderful shop & people in our area!
The staff of Leelanau Auto are really outstanding, Able to diagnose any problem and saving me so much in time and money in the long run. I've stopped going to the dealerships in town anymore do to cost and wrong diagnoses.

I live in Cedar and the service I received at Leelanau Auto just may have ended my need to travel to TC for auto repairs.
Rear brakes (rotors & pads and re-built calipers) plus kind courteous professional service.
Our first time staying in Cedar, and touring the Michigan wine country, when a nail in one of my tires tries to ruin our vacation! The cashier at the gas station in Cedar recommended Leelanau Auto for tire repairs. It looked like the shop had many cars to service, but Tim got us in right away. He handed us over to Aaron and the problem was fixed within 15 minutes, at a very reasonable price.
While up for vacation we found sidewall damage on our tire. Came to this shop looking for help. The guy at the desk said they don't stock any tires, didn't offer to change the spare, and only offered suggestions on where to go after I asked. He seemed confused why I bothered him.
Would not recommend. Went into town and had it fixed by respectful people within an hour.
If you are in need of any automotive repair, based on an amazing customer service experience I recommend Leelanau Auto. The AC on my 1999 civic wasn't working and after an unsuccessful attempt with another shop, I went to them looking for help. They got me in within a week, and diagnosed it as a bad AC pump. They had some issues finding the right part and because of that made an exception to use a part I was able to find online. Another issue was discovered and it was suspected there was broken wire left over from some previous work done on the car. They estimated it would take a couple hours to find it and fix it. After 10 hours of work, they were finally able to find the broken wire, but still only charged me for the 2 hours we agreed to. As they put it "they didn't want to send me home with a car that wasn't working the way I wanted it" and "it was a good learning experience for their team". Between forfeiting the mark-up cost on the part and not charging me for all the time they put into this, I am extremely grateful for them putting my needs above their own. They clearly want what's best for their customers and they have made a loyal customer out of me in the future. Highly recommend!
While in town we lost brakes in the Super duty, said they would do their best to get it fixed that day....and did.

Faced a safety issue with my vehicle while vacationing in Cedar. Gordon worked me in even though they were stacked with customers. Quick diagnosis and again, worked us in. These guys are great! They fixed up my Astro van for a good price, and swapped the engine on my father's Infiniti. Worth the trip out to cedar for sure.
