These guys are amazing, I see why they have so many five star reviews. Over the past three years I’ve visited the yard about six times and they’ve always been Friendly , Professional, And most importantly the price on the phone was the price at the yard.
I live in Alpena and my vehicle broke down in Flint a few weeks ago while we were traveling for an event. Freemans worked with me to scrap the Kia. I mailed them my title; they picked up the car from the mechanic and sent me my check. Jeff even included a nice note thanking me for my business and wishing me a good rest of my summer. So professional and polite. Thank you, guys, so much for making a complicated and difficult situation a little bit easier for me and my husband.
This salvage yard may not be the biggest but it always has what I need. But the real selling point of this place is their staff. they are the polar opposite of what you would expect at a salvage yard. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. So pretty much the polar opposite of a typical salvage yard or mechanic shop. But in all seriousness this place is great and keeps me coming back.
Only problem I went there on the 30th of December at 1:15 and it was closed December was today I went there at 1:15 I went again today and got part for my car I love this place
This isn't a very large salvage yard, but I am so, so happy and thankful I found this salvage yard. It wasn't well marked and I was a bit confused where the office was, but it becomes clear once you enter the yard. Some areas are pretty muddy, so be prepared. However, I was able to get around without getting muddy and the yard was in much better condition than other yards I have been in. Bring your own tools and know how to remove what you want from the vehicles in the yard. Unlike some yards, rows are not numbered and as far as I know there isn't a printable list of vehicles and locations in the yard. Pricing is very reasonable. I drove 90 minutes to get there and found two vehicles of my type. While the first didn't have the exact part number I needed, the second one had the right part although it too wasn't a part number match. It was however an interchange part and upon installing the used part in my vehicle it worked. Well worth the 3 hour round trip for the part I needed and for a price that I was happy to pay. The guys here were friendly and communication was good. I will likely be recommending them to many other people and using them again when possible. They are close to my May through October residence and not too far away from my November through April home. I think they have set a new standard in my expectations of salvage yards. Cash only. Pull your own parts with your own tools. Recommended.
They usually have what I want, and if not, I just wait a while and they'll have it. They post new arrival donor vehicles on facebook sometimes which I find to be quite helpful.
The prices are super reasonable and the guys have great senses of humor.

These guys are great went looking for a rim and a tire . Called before I left to inquire about it, was going to take it to another shop to get the wheel put on and they were going to charge me quite a bit. When I got there they were nice enough they already had the wheel on the rim saved me some money for sure. Plus they didn't charge me to do that, and charged me very little for the rim and tire. Employees were awesome. I'll be going there from now on.

What is there to say, it's an old school scrap yard, got just about everything, pull it yourself. They gave me a fair price for dropping off my Buick, better than the competition. I'll be coming back for parts on the next beater and recommending them to friends.
Definitely old school in how it's run. Prices are usually pretty fair, from my experience. I usually need older stuff, which can be hit or miss here, but better selection than some other places in the area.

I called to inquire about a used tire for my van and the guy who answered was very rude and aggressive. I gave him the tire specs and was left on hold for 30 minutes. I hung up and then I called back. Another male answered who seemed more pleasant. I told him that I just called about a tire and was left on hold for 30 minutes and that the other guy must’ve forgotten I was on the phone and he said he was “side tracked.”
Super rude!!!! The guy that "so called" helped my husband and I, was very rude, unprofessional, and obviously didn't care about making a sale. Which is fine with me, because I didn't want to give him the sale do to his horrible attitude.
I've gone to Freeman's on a few occasions and they have a good selection of vehicles to obtain good used parts from. I would recommend anyone that is a DIY type person to check them out.
Talked to them for 2 days before the 2 hour trip there. Price for 2 days was 200. Made the drive then when we got there the price suddenly went way up and the parts we were told was in like new condition had rust and dents. Made them a very reasonable offer as didn't want to drive 4 hours empty handed but stuck with thier outrageous demands. These guys are shisty dishonest and full of b.s. avoid this place.
Found the parts on Facebook marketplace, jake helped me out to make sure they were the right ones. He pulled them for me (for a very reasonable fee) and I picked them up on a Saturday. The staff working was also very helpful. The prices were so good that I drove an hour to pick them up.
Freeman auto parts is a lot of different words they have everything you could ever dream of they have cards from 1950 sending 2000 and fi team they have wonderful wheels and tires they have all kinds the engines in transmissions they have everything you need to fix a car ever they have terrific people who work there they are great Mabel go out of their way to help you in any way they can when you go out there you can take all day just wander around throughout all the cars looking M you can see cars from all over the place everybody there that works there will help you in any way they can it is great great place to go thank you for even thinking about look in their this is wonderful and I think you will like it what a wonderful place
I have been going to Freeman's for decades. I feel that it's one of the last real salvage yards still in existence. If they have what you need, which the usually do, they are Very fair on the pricing and they are always nice to deal with.
