Went in for a few interior trim bits and I grabbed a broken grille for a garage wall decoration. I asked the guy at the counter how much and he told me to have a nice afternoon. The price he quoted for a door was very reasonable so I'm definitely going back for it! Quite a few late model pickup trucks "in stock".
Couldn't find the part I needed anywhere in the state, travers auto found me one in Ohio, had it shipped the next day, price was very fair, part was well packaged and exactly as described, and fixed the problem. They definitely have all my future business.
The people that answer their phones are unintelligible ununderstandable when calling they Mumble something and put you on hold I'm assuming they're saying please hold and then just automatically put me on hold when you say hello that is unacceptable poor quality customer service for a decent company overall
But every time I've gone to one of their locations they have misquoted me the price out the door. Sometimes it's just 10 or 12 bucks sometimes its 30-40$ everything I've said is 100% true and accurate give me a lie detector test
I bought a engine they literally Took everything off of the engine they leave every hole open on the engine that dirt can get in there they don’t put it on a pallet my engine slighted off the forks on the concrete it seems to me they don’t care about customers or with doing a good job , I took the engine to a mechanic shop they put it in the car for me then the engine did not start up the timing was off and it was a engine that they went through they tow the car to grand rabbits and broke my front bumper on my car I won’t do any business with them anymore whoever you are be careful with doing business with them
Excellent! Three employees went above and beyond expectations to locate a part for my truck. It is a discontinued part and very difficult to acquire. They found the part and charged a very fair price. The drive was well worth the time and extra miles driven. Check them out.
As always, Traverse Auto had my part waiting. Again, he answered very helpful questions, had a great sense of humor, and assured me if I got there before 5 on Friday he would still be open! LOL I highly recommend Traverse! My dad taught me years ago to just go there first. I didn't always go there first, but I did always go there last! Ionia and montcalm scrap yards are a joke! Save time, money, and stress, go to St John's first and get the right part at Traverse!
Outstanding place for really good used parts, stopped in for some older super duty stuff and I had to come back another day because they had so many in stock. Good prices, friendly staff and always a pleasure to visit.
Bought rear leaf springs for a pickup. I'm a Master mechanic and could not get the rear bolts out of the spring holes with molded rubber. I tried everything that I knew to do it. I took the springs back and they gave me my full money back without any questions. I would deal with them in a heartbeat again.
Bought a vehicle that had the transmission rebuilt by this shop which was listed on carfax, and in less than 3,000 miles the transmission went out. They would not stand behind their work or their warranties, and also refused to sell a rebuilt kit. They refused to work with me in any way to resolve the transmission issue. Now I’m stuck paying for a dead vehicle with a transmission that didn’t make it over year after being rebuilt, and I’ve had the vehicle less than 2 months. No help at all

Lots of parts and big selection. You'll never get them to answer the phone though. Cant tell you how many times they've lost my business just because they cant answer the phone.

They have 4 salvage yards. I Needed a part at one of there locations, They didn't have it so he got it from another location, Im very happy with how fast I was taken care of and the ease of getting the parts.

Needed repairs to my truck for worn window control. Very inexpensive rather than new and did the work myself. Cheap fix and got excellent advise on install. Will definitely return again!
Went around and around about a part I paid for one earlier. It was supposed to be shipped to one place but it never was. I had to go 30 miles out if my way to obtain the part.
Chris and the others at Travers are awesome! I live closer to their sister yard in Lansing but would rather drive to St John because they are just that good in my opinion.
Purchased a used part. Verbally guaranteed that it was a good part, part came with 90 day written guarantee. Took it to the shop to have it put on - the part is no good. Called the sales rep, was promised a call back from the manager that day within 15 minutes. I waited 45 minutes before the call. The manager promised a call the next day to arrange for return. No call today. So, at this point, no return possible, no refund given. Poor customer service. Won't buy there again, even if they have other parts I need (and they do).
