The girls at the counter are amazing to work with made every step so easy . The body shop returned my truck better than show room quality . Do not look at any other body shop this is the best of the best.

Lake Area was the epitome of professionalism and promptness. After hitting a deer, which caused significant damage to the front of our Explorer, they promptly received our vehicle. They swiftly surveyed and estimated the damage, providing us with regular updates via text. The repairs they performed were done with precision and expertise, almost as if the accident had never occurred. I am incredibly grateful for their efforts in making this stressful situation much easier for us.

We can't say enough good things about Lake Area Collision. Our car was in for collision damage. We had 5 star service from the front counter to the prep area when they cleaned our car, as a bonus. I do want to shout out to the prep department because when we received our car back it was like it was brand new - it hadn't looked that good since we drove it off the lot. Congrats to the whole company for teaching that customer service doesn't stop at the front counter (they were amazing also) and you have customers for life now.

I had never had an accident and hit a deer in December. LAC was very helpful and kept me updated about each step my car was going through. Very nice people and they do good work!!

Lake Area Collision surpassed our expectations, and I would highly recommend! We were hit by a deer 3-1/2 hours from home, and Lake Area Collision was recommended by the Officer helping us out that day. They sent us weekly text messages so we always knew the status of our vehicle. They always answered our questions. We received calls from the mechanic when there were any important updates. They went above and beyond to help coordinate a couple things for us that were unique since we live out of the area. Once their work was complete, our vehicle looked as good as new! They did a superb job. We would even consider making the 3-1/2 hour drive if our vehicle needed work in the future.

Brought my car in after hitting a deer. Got an estimate. Had to wait a few weeks to get it in. Got it in. Was told 4 days tops. 4 weeks later I was able to pick up my vehicle after explaining that I no longer had a loaner. When I picked it up the new bumper had excess flash painted over and dry spray along the bottom. The hood was also mis aligned. I called and was told to bring it back in so I did. They looked at it again and gave me a date to return with a promise of a 24hr turn around. I brought it back in and waited 7 days. After sending a message asking about my car they told me that the detail team was just finishing up. I picked up my car after hours and literally nothing was done to the car. No repaint, no hood alignment, no detail, nothing. My car sat in their lot the entire 7 days without being touched. Will not be returning here and will be contacting my insurance company about this mess.

We were very satisfied with all aspects of our interaction with Lake Area Collision. Customer service was great, waiting room super nice and clean, work done well, and a free loner car during my repair!

Updated after pick up: Cleanest body shop i have ever seen. Very nice employees. Owner came out of office to shake my hand and walked my damaged vehicle with my wife. Very professional and personable. Place was very busy but well organized. Looking forward to my car being promptly repaired and looking as good as new. Update: It did take a few months due to parts. All communication through process was professional and complete. Pick up was smooth. Every employee we interacted with was friendly and customer focused. From owner to guy moving cars on the full lot. How all businesses should be run.

I have used this place for several different vehicles. Each time I'm treated better and better. This last event was no different. They knew the importance my vehicle holds and kept me informed and updated. They went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and well taken care of. My vehicle is back looking better than ever. Hopefully I don't need them again anytime soon, but I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

I’m 75 and this is the first time I’ve ever had to deal with an insurance claim. These folks were fantastic. They dealt with all the paperwork and estimating so that I got a satisfactory outcome from Geico. I hope that I never have to have collision work done on my car again but if I do then this is the business I will deal with. Thanks again to Dan and Mike.

Although the people at Lake Area Collision are very friendly and professional, I have found their exorbitant lead-times and follow up to be lacking. I brought my car in for an estimate on 8/29/23 and after waiting approximately 45 minutes past my appointment time, I met with an estimator who evaluated the damage on a rear door and quarter panel. He said the shop was booked through mid-November! 12 weeks before I could even bring my car in for repair! He indicated that he would finish the estimate and email it to me as soon as he could. He mentioned that he had some vacation time off the following week but would still get the estimate to me ASAP. As I write this review 4 weeks later, I still have not received anything from Lake Area Collision. 10 days later I took my car to Fletch's Collision and the car was repaired perfectly in 6 days.

Lake Area did excellent work on my 2015 Toyota RAV4 after a deer impact. Multiple doors and panels needed to be replaced or removed and repainted, and the quality of the work was outstanding. Communication was also great throughout the process, and my vehicle was done when it was supposed to be.

They did a fantastic job with my truck 2015 that looks like it's a 2023 that's how good the work was done I couldn't believe it was the same truck. If anyone wants to ask me who would I go to I was telling them to go to Lake Area Collision they do the best job. The only other ones I know come close to it would be the dealers themselves. But if you're on 131 Lake area is the best place to call.

I had my second experience with. Lake area. And it was excellent I had a small repair. They did it promptly. And with. More over the top service they detailed my car. And I was very very happy. Would highly recommend them to anyone that needs repairs done

The work that was done on my car was amazing. You cannot even tell there was damage. My car was there longer than expected, but I understood due to staffing issues which everyone has had issues with the past few years. When my rental car was due back they gave me one of their complimentary cars to use for the next few days while my car was being finished. The called often for updates and were always so kind. I would go back in a heart beat! Thank you!

This is unfortunately the third time in as many years I have had to have work done on my Mercedes. They are the best to work with pleasant, accommodating, informative, etc. Specifically I believe his name is Mike has always gone above and beyond for us. Just today I called to inform him the car was being towed in for almost the same repairs as the first time. He remembered not only the first service from three years ago, but even conversations of where we live. I was so impressed. He also took the number of the towing company to call and make sure the car was being taken directly to them. Apparently they will tow back to their place of business and charge a few days of unnecessary storage. Again, way above and beyond service you would expect. Will go no where else for body work on any of our vehicles!

Hands down the best communication i have ever gotten from a company. Steve kept me up to date weekly on my vehicle's progress. A very important aspect in today's market of long wait times and supply problems. Very happy with the end results. Like the damage never happened.

A tree fell on our car at Young State Park...Amazing service, the car looks brand new inside and out.From the front desk on - always considerate, helpful and prompt. Vehicle ready when promised-they made no promises. The supply chain has made it a nightmare for everyone. They kept us informed during repair process. I would you recommend this shop to friends and family- incredibly well done and the car looks better than new (if that's possible)!

These folks are incredible! Our Mercedes broke down right in front of their shop on our vacation. Mike came out to see if he could help us. The car had to be flat-bedded all the way back to Grand Rapids. He arranged for the car transport. Karen, the owner’s wife, drove us 10 miles to our hotel. Came and picked us up in the morning and took us back to their shop to ride home in the tow truck with our car. They didn’t charge us anything for their incredible kindness, nor would they take anything for their help. Who does that these days. They are pretty incredible people. Their shop is clean and efficient. They are quite an exceptional group of business people. Thank you so much Mike and Karen!

We have had 3 cars repaired due to various accidents at this shop. I have never been treated so well, and so professionally at any other automotive shop. Gary called and gave us weekly updates on the repairs and told us how it was going, and the office team was always calling and updating as well. The initial "triage" conversation was in their incredibly comfortable and modern waiting room. They have a great reputation with our insurance company and made the process super easy! Lake area collision was outstanding as usual! They were efficient timely and smooth with their communication and repair of my Ford F150 truck. The work was par excellent! I will always refer others to Lake area Collision above all Northern Michigan vehicle repair shops. They are fantastic people who care well for their clients!

Had them fix rather extensive damages from a rear end collision. They were very complete in their review and fixing of the car. It was as good as new when they were completed - plus it was returned spotless. Would reco to anyone in northern Michigan in need of auto repair. Nice guys, great work.

My truck was damaged from a recent high-wind storm this summer in Northern MI. A large tree limb found its way to the topside of my hood and left a pretty big indent. Lake Area was recommended by my Ins company. Although I was a little hesitant due to my lack of experience with this particular shop, I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. Service was fantastic, very courteous and accommodating. I didn't have a spare vehicle to drive while mine was being repaired so they provided me with a nice loaner. They completed the repair on-time, as promised. They even detailed my vehicle inside & out and left me with a little repair paint in a jar. I will definitely use this shop again should future collision repair needs arise. thanks Lake Area Team
