I tried calling to find out how much they will pay for copper, and they refuse to give the information and keeps calling me Louis. I'm not Louis and live out by Finn lake and don't have the gas to drive around comparing prices for scrap yards. They either need new phones or to just answer Louise's questions.
I have always preferred SMR. Until the last time I went. After throwing my stuff out I was going to run in the barn. I was told by an older man that I have to get back on the scale first. Ok. I was frustrated because they were closing the barn. Now I understand it makes perfect sence why, but no one has had me do it that way before. So if they were supposed to, that's on them. So I get on the scale. I watch the same man who told me this go in the office to tell on me. Did I jump back to grade school? So I park my car a there is the same man (who works there.) He says, "now are you going to take your stuff to the barn?" He knew full well, they were pulling the doors shut when I got on the scale. I told him no, he actually asked me why. Like he was following me around trying to piss me off. I go in the office to cash out. I didn't look happy but didn't say anything. But because the man went in there talking crap, Jay asks me what my attitude problem is. Now that's crazy! I was frustrated, I got there too late (my fault) I mixed up the order of the process. Just a day things don't go smoothly. However, being followed around, asked what is my attitude problem and being told not to come back because I wasn't smiling is just new owners on a power trip! Don't worry Jay you didn't even have to tell me not to come back, I won't!
We use every scrap yard in Battle Creek but Springfield is one of the best in town, I just wish they could match some other yards prices on wire, aluminum and copper. It sure would save some gas. LoL but this place is the highest paying place in town to drop your steel off.
Big jay is a easy going layed back guy that would do anything to help anyone. Some of the other staff are sketchy but all in all a great place to return scrap. Heather always has a great personality and smile. Never any problems from this place. It
Best place to find parts for my car when needing them! Very friendly staff was easily able to find the pieces i need to replace any broken ones!! Good price too, would definitely recommend them!!! Either for scrapping for needing a possible part!
They are nothing but scammers. They mark you down for the wrong number in copper, (the lesser value amount of course.) They tell you things and then say they never said that. They lied about my caytliac converter being aftermarket and trying to only give me a few dollars for it, when it definitely wasn't. BEWARE if you go there!
It was a little hard finding it there is a sign on the main road that has a red arrow but it's hard to tell that it's an arrow. Was easy to weigh and drop a small load.
Been going to these folks for all my recycling for my entire young life (25yr old) and there's a reason for that kind of loyalty it's not that I haven't tried other places it's that when I did I wasn't impressed.
This place is a joke I took a catalytic converter to them and they said it was aftermarket and said they would give me $5.00 Dollars for it and the guy got rude with me.I left and took the catalytic converter too heavy metal Scrap and they told me it was not aftermarket and was original and gave me $25.00 for it.Watch out for Springfield metal Recyclers they are scammers and try too rip you off.
