I would give 0 stars if it would let me. Ever since this place has went under new ownership it's went downhill!! The new owners/people who run this place are down right RUDE and have no business working in customer service!! My sister who is illiterate, was unaware of how they do things there, and it's different from other scrap yards. She did something that made the lady at the counter feel the need to YELL at her asking "don't you know how to read???" And what made her so angry was that she had to get up and walk around the counter to where my sister was so she could undo whatever it was she did on the tablet, because once again, she didn't know what she was doing. And as if that wasn't bad enough, they cut my brother in law a check for $2.40 and attempted to mobile deposit it and it didn't go through so he cashed it at a party store. Well the mobile deposit went through 10 days later and the party store was the one who got fined and charges for the bounced check or double cahing it and my brother paid back the full amount and the guy at Franklin said that he was good to come back given he took care of it. He went in the next day and once again the rude lady at the front yelled at him to get out saying they don't condone "check fraud"... Oh but they do condone picking on people with learning disabilities and special needs!! I'm sure it's only a matter of time before this place is closed for good!! Oh and not to mention they have the lowest prices in town! I would recommend PADNOS any day of the week! They are amazing and know how to provide great customer service!
Great place to take your recycling materials. Super quick and easy process, employees are friendly and very helpful. Good way to make a little extra money.
This place has gone down hill since the Franklin's stopped running it. I own a small welding shop so I used to take my scrap there and buy various pieces of steel regularly they were always rude and made me feel like I was unwanted there and one day a man on a golf cart yelled and cussed at me for looking for scrap metal which I had been doing that exact thing for over a year at least 30-40 times I haven't been back since it seems like the employees don't like dealing with smaller customers only big accounts
They aren't a bad scrap yard but i prefer the one is Springfield. This one has decent prices but I feel like Springfield pays more. I am also not a fan of the scrap being unloaded by a giant magnet. If you have a brand new truck i would steer clear of this yard. The people inside come off kind of rude. I lost my phone there and the lady flat out argued with me and refused to look at the cameras even though they where slow and I knew exactly what time it would've been at. So I rushed the 26 miles home to track it since it was almost dead and called them back. She claimed to go and look for it and while I was tracking it I seeing my phones live location moving from her office area towards the front of the store and outside to the scales and then back into the building. She claimed my phone was by the scale in the dirt. However my phone doesn't have a spec of dust or dirt on it. Either way I am just grateful for whoever decided to return it, this phone is my world with so many things on it that cant be replaced. Thank you again for the safe return!
A couple of ok experiences. And then I brought 4 different grades of aluminum, some high quality. It all was marked at the lowest rate, by a sawed off little Percy. The woman behind the glass was rude and another reminder from my experience of why Battle Creek woman are the most abused throughout the United States. I'm rating them a 2 instead of a 1 because the main guy behind the glass is totally fine.
Took few coppers and such there very fast and easy. I did get upset because i was confused about prices for different type of stuff. I called left a message explaining that i am confused since i am new to doing scrap and felt that i was getting less then i should. They called back quickly and explained full details on nearly everything now I have more knowledge On what to look out for and what to expect from it. I am very satisfied with the service i will continue to come.
You have to check in at the office and than get on the scale. There is only one dock across the street where you’ll get loaded very quickly. Nice and professional staff in the office. Looks like there is no overnight parking. Very close to interstate i194 and i94.
The folks at Franklin Iron & Metal Co. are some of the best I have ever dealt with. From the knowledgeable staff to the ideal location and layout of their facility they have got my vote for best metal recyclers that I have come across. The non-ferrous recycling process there is very streamlined and their staff are helpful as well as professional without any of the bad attitudes that some of the other yards seem to have. You wont be disappointed if you take your metal to Franklin thats for sure.
If you have not been here before. This is a touch free metal waste. Meaning you load it a super magnet unloads you. Less likely to damage you vehicle driving around a scrap yard. Good layout, be there early for fastest in and out experience. Staff is ready to help if you have a question. All and all 5 stars customer service and easy excess for potential customers.
Excellent customer service. I needed some steel to practice welding on (I'm attending KCC for welding - Excellent program they have there) without having to pay for new. The company had an employee assist me in loading up my finds. Came away with over 900 lbs of some really good finds at a fraction of new. I will definitely be going back. The only down side is that they only take cash. But, with the help that I got and the things I was able to find at the price I paid, I can't complain.
