Fraudulent, predatory, and illegal business practices.
On September 22, 2025, our semi-truck was towed by Lynch’s Towing in Brockton. They issued us a fraudulent invoice for $8,383.98 — charging for heavy wreckers, tractors, supervisors, and multiple crew members that were never used or dispatched.
Massachusetts law sets clear limits: towing a commercial vehicle up to 5 miles is capped at $132 plus $6.60 per additional mile. Lynch’s charged over 30× the legal maximum and then refused to accept credit card payment, even though they advertise Visa/MasterCard. Instead, they are illegally holding our equipment hostage.
This is a textbook case of fraud, extortion, and predatory towing. Their actions violate:
• 220 CMR 272.04 (state towing rate caps)
• M.G.L. c. 255, §25 (only “reasonable charges” allowed)
• M.G.L. c. 93A (unfair and deceptive practices)
We have invoices, photos, and documentation proving this abuse. We are filing complaints with the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and contacting news investigators to expose this scheme.
Truckers, businesses, and drivers: avoid Lynch’s Towing at all costs. They are not only dishonest but actively breaking the law.
I can’t say enough great things about this company! Always super quick, friendly, and stress-free. I’ve trusted them with several services—inspection sticker, brake job, and four new tires—and they’ve never let me down. Every time, the service is professional, reliable, and reasonably priced. It feels great knowing I have a go-to place I can count on for everything from emergencies to regular maintenance. Highly recommend!
This towing company is he best, They have been there in a non-juddgemental way once before. I've needed towing servieces twice and a I choose Lynch's. My guy today was Devin. He was polite and easy going and gave me a firm handshake while looking me in the eye.which made the process much more comfortable. Thank you Devin and thank you Mr. Lynch
The whole company is disrespectful and rude, especially the lady at the front desk. My sister's car (which was bought and under our father's name) was towed. She called asking if she could pick it up, but the front desk rudely told her that she needed to contact our father to come and pick it up. As she got there, our father was on the way. Another man told my sister that our father could send an email to authorize her to pick up the car. Our father works almost 40+ hours a week, to leave work from Boston to Brockton, only to find out he never had to leave is crazy to me. And the front lady needs to work on her communication skills and learn to speak to people with respect. This is a business, act like one. It seems like this business is full of incompetent people who see a person of color and think they can treat them however and charge them however. If you are a POC and get towed here, I wish you the best of luck, and make sure you know WHAT you're getting charged for, because 100% believe they'll raise your bill to spite you.
My experience with Lynch's was incredibly smooth. The largest truck in my fleet lost a wheel on the highway. The two ladies I spoke to initially on the phone, were extremely helpful and the estimate on timing was spot on. "Phatboy" saved the day. He did everything in his power to get that truck back to safety. His communication was incredible, describing every step he took. 100% recommend.
We had to move a 20 ton tanker with faulty airbags to Bosempty.
Jean was the operator, he got it done. He addressed a pretty bad air leak. Measuring truck hight for the tunnel. The unit was emty. Also he Hooked the drive shaft back up so it could be parked. Great work.
Just had my infiniti fx37 towed I couldn't have ask for anyone better to tow my vehicle! Both gentlemen were professional and took their time explaining to me the game plan with the towe! I wouldn't go anywere else to help me towe me vehicle!

Got towed from Taunton to Brockton. Had a great experience from dispatch to the driver. Driver Nick C. was awesome. He was patient, friendly and respectful. Had a great conversation on the way. I wish him well in his future endeavors.
Had trouble today with my car and it looked like it was going to have to be towed to the dealership. Called Lynch’s towing and they were at my house within 20 minutes and Chris who was very helpful said the he would check the battery and sure enough that was the problem. He charged it and that was enough to get it going so that we could get to the store to buy a new one. Chris saved us a trip to the dealership where I am sure they would also have found that the car needed a new battery but probably at a higher cost. Thank you Chris for all your advice today it was much appreciate.

Jeremiah helped me on the side of the road at 3am when I got a blown tire. He was very kind and brought my car to a rest stop to get my car taken care of and made sure I was all set. Jeremiah is the best!!!
Grateful for Lynch’s Towing, particularly Travis and Chris. I met Travis after being involved in a car accident on 24, and he was the most helpful in the situation that evening. Later on Chris helped me on site when I needed to retrieve a few more items and grab the plates.
Travis said it best as I expressed my gratitude for all he had done and taken the time to explain things to me as it was my first time in this type of situation , “I just treat people the way I would want to be treated.”

Love Lynch’s Towing!! Only place I would call if I needed a car towed! All the staff is great, but Chris is absolutely amazing! He went above and beyond for me!!
Lynch’s Towing had me off the side of the interstate within forty five minutes from the time I called. The driver was very professional, and even though it was raining and cold, had a very good attitude and got the job safely done. Highly recommended!
I am very satisfied with Lynch Towing services. Their customer service was excellent, they communicated throughout the entire process and arrived within minutes of scheduling the call which was important to me. I highly recommend them.
Chris got us out of a jam when one of our work vans got its rear passenger wheel stuck over the short rail of the ramp leading up into our warehouse - and all in just ten minutes! Very good idea on a quick fix. Plus, he was friendly! Thanks, Chris!
If I could leave 0 stars I would. I called at 530 pm i tell the dispatcher im on the side of the road I need a tow. Tow truck shows up at 635 pm. He's backing up to load my vehicle then drives away. I call and the dispatcher to let them . The dispatchet tells me oh we got a state police tow so he had to leave, I'll have someone come out when I find another driver. I call back at 730 pm still waiting. She says I'll send someone now. At 845 pm she calls and says do you still need a tow? At that point the police made me get a tow since I was there for 3 1/2 hrs. Very disrespectful. How is this allowed? The dispatcher should be fired for doing that.
I wanted to thank Lynches towing for helping me last week, when me and my son were stranded on route 24 with a flat tire.
When I called the shop the representative Patty was very kind and helpful. The driver arrived and was he quick and so helpful on such a dangerous route.
This was not my first time using Lynch’s services. I had a car accident a year ago and my car was towed to Lynches on West Chestnut Street.
I arrived early the next morning to be greeted by the owner Dave and the manager Sean. I was still shaken and emotional from the accident.
Not only were these two men kind and compassionate, but they were able to assist me with next steps I would need to make pertaining to my insurance company.
I was so impressed with the time both men took with me and the knowledge they both have.
Lynch’s towing is a class act!

The driver ( sorry forget his name ) His fast ability, while trying to be safe on Rt 24 and while putting himself at risk all to change my tire and being concerned about me and my son was so impressive . Then lastly meeting Dave and Sean last year at 6am to be treated kindly and supported, has left a major impression on me.

I was traveling on 495N when my tire blew. As I was waiting for AAA to come, a driver for Lynch's Towing, Jeremiah, stopped to assist myself and my family.
Jeremiah was polite and professional and knew exactly what needed to be done. The service was fast precise. Jeremiah was on his way back to Brockton and took time away from his schedule to assist a Veteran in need.
His kindness and respect was a great example for my children to follow. If we had more people like Jeremiah in the world then we would all be in a better place.

I had an exceptional experience with Lynch's towing today. This is a fantastic, professional company that I highly recommend. In addition to being a capable and professional towing company, they are also the type of business that supports the community.

This is a 5 star+ review and I have personally heard about previous negative experiences with Lynch’s towing, but they are unrealistic opinions of a towing company. I couldn’t be happier with the overall professional services that I received from Lynch’s towing (from every step of the way). I was in a bind to move my car from Brockton to Norton and was receiving quotes for $400+ for a one way trip. My first interaction was with Sean, who was extremely courteous, professional and understanding of my situation. He gave an extremely fair price for a one way private tow and little did I know that the professionalism and overall experience would continue to get better.
I was then linked up with one of the best tow operators that I’ve ever dealt with, Derrick. He was and is a true professional who is on time, knowledgeable, courteous, extremely helpful, quick and down to earth. Derrick treats your motor vehicle like it was his own. I would personally request his service if you are looking for a tow with complete care and consideration of your investment.
UPDATE: They contacted me to get me to remove my review. Basically, they denied what happened, but my boyfriend doesn't need to lie about this. I took down this review but left the one star because I didn't want to deal with this. They called me again. So I am posting the review back up. They wanted my boyfriend and his guy to meet and "hash it out." This place is unprofessional. I will file a police report if they keep harassing us.
This place is a scam. They only care about money, and they change the price to however much they feel like. My boyfriend called for a tow to get a vehicle out of the mud (the front end was stuck), and they said it will be about $120. When the tow truck (a regular flat bed) got there, the tow guy David (Caucasian male with white/grey hair in a ponytail) said it is going to be $400. Boyfriend told him that he only has $200, and tow guy said OK. Then after it was done, the tow guy said $300. Boyfriend responded with how he said $200 earlier. Then tow guy said, "No it's $300 or I am going to tow your car." So boyfriend said he can only give him $250, and the guy said OK he will take it.
So the guy just tried to take $400 when he was OK with doing it for $250 and they originally said $120 on the phone. It took only 10-15 minutes from him arriving to leaving. Also, this place was only 10 minutes away from the location. Stay away from this tow company unless you want to be overcharged, lied to, threatened, and haggled with. They are sketchy.
Great Customer Service & Reliable!
My son car got 2 flat tires on his way home at 1:30am. I left my home to meet him and we then called AAA which is a service we pay for and the wait time was 2 hours and then AAA moved it to 7am!
I then called Lynch’s Towing! The guy who answered the phone was very nice and told us he could get someone out in 20 minutes. Devin from Lynch’s Towing called my son for his exact location and he arrived in less than 20 minutes. He was very professional & friendly! He went over in detail about the tow & putting my son’s car on the flatbed. He was really genuine and you can tell he liked his job. He followed us to my home & he even took off his flashing lights when he reached my street so he wouldn’t wake my neighbors!
He’s a great guy & Lynch’s Towing should be proud to have him representing their company. I hope I won’t have to call for a tow again but if I do need a tow I will definitely call Lynch’s Towing. I hope all the employees are like Devin.

We received a sweater from the towing service in 2004, it was a gift for my father who was visiting from Germany. He still wears this all the time. He does not want to wear anything else. My roadside assistance with my car insurance gave up and couldn't find me a tow on a busy Friday night. I remembered Lynch's near my house in Brockton and called them. They came in 30 minutes and we're fairly priced. I don't think I've ever seen someone hook up a car so fast but the driver didn't miss a hook and just was efficient. He told me how to get reimbursed by my insurance company and was off to another call. Friendly driver and operator at the company. I am very appreciative of the rescue and will definitely call Lynch's again when my cat hahaha down again!
