What clients say about Whole Foods Market in Wellesley Township (MA)

I had such a meaningful experience at the Wellesley Whole Foods, and it was entirely because of Steve, the manager. I’m a new mom and had my baby with me, and there were a few patrons behaving in a way that made an already challenging outing feel more stressful than it needed to be. Steve noticed. Without me asking, he looked over, saw what was happening, and stepped in with such kindness and care. He simply said, “I’m going to help you,” and he did. He was incredibly observant, conscientious, and genuinely warm. He went out of his way to make sure I felt supported and taken care of. It wasn’t just helpful—it was human. That kind of awareness and compassion makes all the difference, especially in this chapter of life where even simple errands can feel like major undertakings. Steve is a tremendous asset to this store. His presence and attitude truly changed my experience, and it’s because of people like him that I’ll absolutely be back. Thank you, Steve, for making this feel like such a welcoming place.

More options for organic and more healthy options. Trader Joe's is typically less expensive but fewer options. Staff is always friendly and helpful. As a Prime member, I get a discount on certain products

I always find my items and then some! And I love your prepared optional meals that I can pick and choose. Great selection of salad options.

Great customer experience! Earlier I was in the store looking for decaf green tea. The store was busy there was an employee stocking the teas on a step stool next to me.. Another employee came to ask him a question about dried apricots (which by the way, my wife was looking for on the other side of the store). When he, (Jerry is his name) returned to his step stool he asked if I needed any help. I mentioned that I was looking for decaf green tea. He found one among the 100s of teas and handed it to me. I asked if it was any good (not like there seemed to be many options)…. Jerry’s response was “You try it and let me know” and then proceeded to mark the box as a sample. Well Jerry, both my wife and I love the tea and will now make it a staple in our newly formed tea collection!!! It’s guys like Jerry that make any business a great establishment!!!! Next you need to work on the dried apricots…. Thank you!

Clean well laid out grocery store. The fruits and vegetables look great. The salad bar is very impressive.

The store carries a lot of all-natural and organic foods. Quality is generally excellent. If you are willing to pay significantly more for your food with the aim avoiding pesticides, this is the place to g go.

Not sure what Boulder would do without WF, always clean, always friendly, and while it’s sad a full time guard is needed, it’s nice to have security at the door.

Their flower selection is stunning and their customer service is very helpful. The prepared food is amazing and so fresh always. Fresh seafood department and a great store in general. Staff is awesome.

All my favorite stuff and plenty of parking too! Best Customer Service staff ever. Avoid Smith St parking lot egress in hours after area schools let out.

I love the layout here, where the front is kind of open, and the parking lot wraps around the front, with LOTS of handicapped parking. Also…AMAZINGLY delicious mangos, and a selection of prepared foods I haven’t seen at other Wholefoods locations.

Great selection of food but the Pizza Bar needs a bottle of Grated Parmesean badly. I had to ask 2 employees, the first one just said "we're out" and wasn't about to help me, I had to ask her again and she finally went to ask someone else, the second employee went and got me a small cup of shredded parmesean which I really appreciated. I am just curious as to why they can't grab one from an aisle and open it when they have the pizza bar fully STOCKED and they are a GROCERY STORE. Makes no sense! Besides that slightly negative experience my food was 10/10 and the hot food bar was stocked, clean, and fresh.

Avocado sushi is succulent and delicious. Every time I go there and bite into the sushi it makes my mouth water. My kids always get something from the hot bar but never end up eating it even though the hot bar is amazing. They always say they're going to eat salad but never do. Glad they replaced the electric car chargers. The only dangerous part is taking a left onto State Street out of the exit as it is difficult to see oncoming traffic. People there are so nice and kind. All the food is so delicious.

The staff were rude and hypocritical. I’ve been coughing a bit recently, so I wear a thin mask while shopping at this store. One lady pretended not to hear me and got the item wrong almost deliberately; then she went on to say “no we don’t have it” in a cold, indifferent manner. I went to speak to a customer service lady, she heard me right! Yet still she sounded like it was a sin trying to find something while wearing a mask (simply because I don’t want to annoy others by coughing)! Let’s be honest, there are more and more people wearing masks these days and we know how annoying it is when people cough around you! Two questions: 1. Do you want customers who are coughing to cough all over your store? 2. Are you deliberately using coldness and indifference to discourage people from asking for help, even when they’re buying something from your store? Absolutely ridiculous, unhelpful and unfriendly.

Whole Foods always has good organic options and food. Ready to eat and hot bar is usually pretty good too. This Wellesley location is exceptional as well. Fresh London broil as a pic for some flare:)

Have been going to this location for 10+ years. This used to be a small, but an OK store. With Amazon involvement the employee caliber has noticeably changed. These are no longer mature enlightened people Whole Foods used to employ. The worst really is the produce. Every time part of the produce is overripe or rotten or does not last more than a day in the fridge. Their employees either do not care or do not know to check and pull it off the shelf. Rotten strawberries all the time, just bought a bag of Cherries, all rotten. You have to check every piece of produce you put in the cart top to bottom. I used to favor WF produce to Market Basket, but now just feel cheated all the time at WH

This place used to be good. Sadly, when I was there, the butcher case was completely empty due to a cooling system failure and register 8 had been taken over by some sort of distribution center. More to the point, all of the employees seemed like they did not enjoy their jobs at all. This place used to have soul, and I fear that Amazon has destroyed it all in the pursuit of a few more pennies.

Super friendly staff really makes it a pleasure to shop here all year. Aurora is so polite and friendly. The team really steps up to help shoppers. Very clean and well stocked. Great hot food area. Delicious selections. Tables. Always clean, bathrooms well maintained. Easy and fast checkout. Overall a treat coming here.

Shocked this has such a high score. One of the worst Whole Foods I've been in. 1. Parking lot is too small and used by residents for activities at the high school 2. The vegetable section (which is the primary reason for going to Whole Foods) is tiny, always under stocked (and some cases basically empty of produce), and ironically there's always 2-3 employees stocking it making it difficult to navigate 3. The dairy aisle is narrow, has a pole in the middle of it, and is a hot spot for people to congregate for some reason that after 6 years of living in this town I still can't figure out. Always fun trying to get what you need 4. Check your receipt. I've been repeatedly charged for produce that wasn't what I purchased and it ended up being much more expensive 5. Customers rarely help bag their own groceries so expect to wait longer to check out On a positive note, the staff is very nice and appear to be hard workers.

Standard wholefoods, but very well put together. I enjoyed some of the local food options and drinks. The location is one of the best parts of this wholefoods. If you get food you can walk to the side of the grocery store and eat in the expansive park. It’s beautiful. Also! The have a Philadelphia native coffee shop there. It’s not a full on coffee shop which was disappointing, but nonetheless still great to see!

Always great experience, from desserts department to cheese one. Anne Marie (cheese department) is an asset to any organization. Her knowledge and recommendation items were exactly right. I learned many things new today. Highly recommend. ?

I initially thought this Whole Foods was pretty nice but after my first full experience and multiple trips here I don’t like coming here for these reasons. 1. Bring the most important is everyone is SO RUDE!!! The customers and the staff I can’t say are completely rude but they are not friendly either! Not what I’m use to in my town and not how Whole Foods use to be before Amazon took over. I did not visit this store prior to this transition so I can’t say if there has been a change. Which leads me to... 2. The aisles are SO SMALL! It is extremely difficult to have 2 way traffic with a cart, some aisles this can’t happen. There’s also piles and displays in some of the aisles and these aisles are too small for any of that to be there. This leads to constantly having to be aware of what you’re doing, where your cart is and being interrupted by someone trying to get by you. I’ve never had to say excuse me so many times in a store. Which also has to do with people not being aware and thinking they are the only person in the aisle/store. Which again is a form a rudeness. 3. Things aren’t labeled in the prepared foods, do you don’t know the name or the ingredients. This makes no sense. 4. The checkout line is somewhat disastrous esp the “express line”. I come to the store out of convenience as I’m in Wellesley twice weekly but I will do my best to not come back for these and additional reasons but this review has taken up enough of my time.

Edit: it was very generous of customer service to email me regarding this experience and to offer a kind gesture. It was a truly mind-boggling and awful customer service experience from start to finish. Upon arriving, there’s a staff member blowing debris and leaves all around the entrance where the plants and herbs are; the passive aggressive “I’m working here” was such a pleasant touch. The shelves are poorly stocked and the Organic Girl Greens mislabeled and stocked in the wrong places, apparently. At the hot bar, tofu is placed next to salmon and chicken. The cashiers are texting on their phones and don’t even see you standing in front of them. And as I was leaving, a concerning older employee was mumbling frustratingly to himself as he rushed past me and threw his trash around me. Stay far away. This place isn’t in the same stratosphere as the Sudbury location.

A quiet neighborhood store. Staff is hard to find and not super friendly. most seem to prefer to keep to themselves. The overall vibe in the store from both customers and team members is "I'm here because I have to be". Otherwise the hot bar has some good selection both for breakfast and dinner. Store seems old but is very clean.
