Max Levine is honest. I’m a plumber and have been to every scrapyard. It’s a shady business. I’ve seen people complaining about the friendliness of the crew. You can go to Everett and have someone smile while they rob you. Or you can go here, handle your business and get what you’re owed.
Working as an electrician for many years i went to max levine for first time. Brought in many types of wire and a nice young man helped me sort. Prices seemed fair, i would say worth going to if your in the lowell area.
I have to leave these folks a review after my first transaction with them. I showed up yesterday with 18 carefully weighed large trash bags of brass wire with a total (my calculation) of 870 pounds . After arriving and being helped to transfer the wire to 3 large metal bins, they weighed the bins and found the total to be 916 pounds! I was sure I had calibrated my scale and couldn't be that far off but they insisted that their measurement was accurate so I accepted their payment. I had numbered my bags 1 thru 18 so today I checked the empty bags and found I had made 2 bags and numbered them with the same number. The one of those two bags that I had not accounted for weighed 43.6 pounds. So my total of 870 pounds should have been 913.6 pounds which means their total was 2.4 pounds more than my calculated weight. They apologized for not having more help unloading (I wasn't expecting any) so service was great, weight was very accurate, and the payment rate was quite fair. My overall experience was exceptional.
Excellent service. The employees are helpful and respectful. I have been to many metal companies and they have not been precise, but in this one they are.
I looked this place up for directions and it said, "closes soon" rather than "closed" because it should have been closed even though it was before the posted hours of 7:15-4:15p.m. because today is Columbus day, a federal holiday.
These guys are ridiculous I stopped with my wife and unloaded an air conditioner and it was big and heavy and she left. I asked a super rude attendant if they bought it and he told me no! I thanked him and left, so far so good. While waiting for my employee with the truck to get the air conditioner he told me to remove the air conditioner from there I said I would remove it, I was just making a space in the truck because it was full of tools so he just kicked the air conditioner that was on a platform and kept yelling for me to get the air conditioner off the floor and get out of there. While I got the air conditioning, they surrounded my truck and tried to intimidate me as if they were calling someone on the phone. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a company.
This was the worst and most disrespectful and lace o ever been to. The bald guy working the scales had a horrible attitude and when I asked how much the pay for Copper he told me it deepened what you have for Copper. He told me he doesn’t want small 10 lb bundles of Copper and when I asked the price he said a price that was extremely low. I told him I am on this industry and continued to have an attitude. I do not recommend anyone going here. They do not treat customers with any respect. The owner should be ashamed to have someone like this person representing his business.. save your energy and go somewhere ..
Went here with well over 500 lbs of communications cable. About 99 percent cat6 with a small amount of coax mixed in. By small I mean maybe 25 lbs of coax at most. One of the workers watched me unload my truck and fill 2 bins (he could clearly see the small amount of coax mixed in).
The scale guy brought one bin up to the scale and proceeded to tell me that since there's a little coax mixed in he could only give me $140 for the 300-400 lb bin. He said if I took the coax out he would give me $250 for the bin. Which is still less than alf of what Everett pays. I believe he assumed I needed the money and let me go through the effort of unloading the whole truck under the assumption that I would take whatever they offer. I proceeded to take my scrap back and will be going to Everett tomorrow. I've been in the cabling business for 15 years and have never had an issue with a scrap company.
Take my advice and make the trip to Everett. Max Levine are crooks and should be out of business.
these guys will happily tell you to come on in they're open at 7:15 we'll take your stuff! show up they don't like what they see and say it'll be too much work for them. just be sure you know they'll take what you have and be prepared to waste an hour of your life

#1 cop $2.40Lb...Scrap It/Everett is paying $2.70Lb
#2 cop $2.25LB...Scrap It/Everett is paying $2.55Lb
Brass $1.30Lb...Scrap It/Everett is paying $1.75Lb..this is after Max Levine said that its never been higher then $1.60Lb.
I could have gotten over a $100.00 more if I had shopped the market. I suggest you do the same. Scrap It will also do pick ups.
