Inspections are an afterthought and insanely slow, suggest going elsewhere

I have been a customer for seven years and have always had a good experience. The last time I was there, an elderly woman brought her car in but didn’t want to wait. She preferred to go home, but didn’t have anyone to drive her. One of the gentleman who works there took the time out of his busy day to drive her home and pick her up when the car was ready. It warmed my heart to see that compassion in today’s world.

I’m really pleased to Find really good and honest mechanic 13 years ago, the knowledge, honesty and keeping the word with simple Handshake. I usually get my inspections here so I trusted them to repair my car when it was leaking coolant. They had my car for hours, I had to call them to get a status. I was told my radiator and water pump needs to be replaced as well as an oil change. Total was going to be $1,000. I told him I did not have that money I will have to pick up the car. Then they charged me $140 for looking at the vehicle. I gave them $40 with the intention of coming back with the $1100, until I was discussing it with family. Thankfully they sent me elsewhere. Turns out all the vehicle needed was a replacement tube for the radiator. I am saddened that I cannot trust their service, they clearly was trying to con me. They got me for $40 but I will not be giving them the $100, they would not even provide me with documentation of the diagnosis. Please don't let this happen to you. Get your gas a go! 🚙💨 I wish I read the reviews prior, clearly they pry on women. Untrustworthy establishment!

DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE❗️Really bad service, bad attitude If I could give it less than one star, I would. I took my car for inspection, but they damaged it so it wouldn't pass, and I had to call the police.

So I pulled up to the gas station to get gas. There’s a sign that says regular gas Under three dollars a gallon it’s full service so I ask the attendant I’m assuming older to fill up the regular gas to Which he replies “I don’t have regular gas. I only have super” which is almost 4 dollars a gallon now I don’t know if that’s considered a Bait and switch or not, but you shouldn’t be advertising gas under three dollars and they try to upsell to almost 4 dollars. Just saying I will never go back to that place.

If I could leave zero stars I would. We waited in line with two cars ahead of us for inspection for an hour and a half and then had to wait an additional 45 minutes for our car to be inspected. I could put myself through school to learn MA Inspections and do the car myself in the time it took them to inspect my car. Horrendous

Thank you for your patience. Always willing to take in my truck and personally let me ride with the mechanic and explain any concerns. I brought my truck in to be serviced and had my truck fixed was given a free wheel alignment. Would highly recommend this shop.

Don't bring your car here for inspection. Brought my car and they told me my car had so many problems. I don't even have my engine light on or anything. When i asked him to show me he didn't want to. Just told me he couldn't show me because they needed to bring my car up "but don't worry. Leave your car here and we will fix it" when i asked how much all of this would cost me he again repeated "don't worry. We will fix it by tomorrow .I will give you a good price" I brought it to a different mechanic and literally nothing was wrong with my car. Just because i am a woman they think they can just take advantage and take their money. Don't bring your car here for inspection. Also they only inspected it for 4 minutes. I have gone other places before and they take 30 minutes for an inspection.

I love love getting my gas and passing my inspection there. They are so accommodating. I had my rejected sticker from doing my inspection there and I came after 5 pm thinking they were still open and they were wonderful to take my car to repass my inspection. Thank you thank you. Pros: Short-ish wait for yearly car inspection, friendly guys - hey, it's a gas station-&-car repair place (it's a guy thing, 😎 y'know?) Cons: None, really - What, no lattes? (Nope, but DD, Starbucks, AND Wholy Foods are nearby (+/- a mile away, not exactly a quick stroll, but not too bad...)

I would never ever recommend this place ! I went in just for an inspection sticker the gentleman gave me a R which I was surprised . He stated it was my emergency break . Right away he offered their services I said no Ty I have a mechanic . Long story short we t to my mechanic he stated nothing wrong with my emergency break I also got my breaks all Done . I went back to them the next day a different gentleman approach me I told him my mechanic said there is nothing wrong with my emergency break I couldn’t even finish speaking right away he started yelling that he will teach my mechanic how to do his job . He continues to jump in my car starts it continues forcefully and aggressively stepping on my gas and breaks I’m standing there confused and baffled why this gentleman is being so aggressive and rude never said good morning hello or anything . While he’s be aggressive with my car I than hear a pop I asked him what that sound was he looks at me and says that’s your emergency break slams my door and walks away . At this point idc about the R it’s the way I was treated I’m not a mechanic I was stating what I was told . I was told to come back twice to speak to the owner. At this point I was so upset 😭 I just wanted an apology he never came out . As far as the owner this is his team of workers . It’s disturbing that he has workers that show that much disrespect !!!

I left my car there for 6 days for inspection, new tires and some exhaust work. When I picked it up I was charged for work that wasn’t done (tire alignment) and had a dead battery that was absolutely no issue before trusting this place with my vehicle. After going back and forth with various mechanics which involved them trying first to blame me, and then blame each other, we come to find out my car was left on by mechanics and shot my battery. My back seat was destroyed by mechanics and now needs to be completely replaced, tried to talk their way out of that one too, and the real kicker, they still failed me for inspection after allegedly doing the work that was needed to pass inspection. This put a horrendous taste in my mouth. They say a customer with a positive experience will tell 5 people but a customer with a negative one will tell 25, so hopefully this reaches at least 25 of you and you can take it for what it’s worth. For me though, I will not be recommending or returning to this place

Don't try to get your car inspected here or bother with simple work. They overcharge and will fail you for absolutely nothing. They have been rude every time that I've been there over my past 6 years in the area and there are just too many other reputable places to get simple service done to deal with this group.

Had a flat tire on my truck. Pulled in and quickly was assisted. Discovered leak on the sidewall so I needed a new tire. They quoted me a FAIR price for a new tire and install, and had it in a couple hours. In the meantime, so I could keep working, they put on the spare then put it back away after installing the new tire. I appreciated the prompt service, helping me get back on the road and getting me in and out. And the price that couldn’t be beat by any local competitor. Will be using them for future vehicle service.

I was nearby Paradise when I popped a huge hole in my tire. Mechanics helped me right away, they did not have my size tires in stock but they put my spare on for $15… which included the task of moving the heaping pile of random junk I keep in my trunk and then tetris-ing it all back together for me. Great service, friendly guys, really appreciate the help!!

Took my car here for state inspection. Told me it would be a 20 minute wait because there were 4 cars ahead of me. Then 1 hour. After 90 minutes I bailed when they serviced two cats that came in after me. Asked for the car back and had to argue with them that I had another appointment I needed to get to. They made me retrieve the car from the back myself (where they left it unattended with the keys in). Bad process and bad customer service.

I went in the other day for a rattling noise that was getting worse. The owner/ employees were extremely accommodating even tho I didn't have an appointment. I waited minimal time even tho they were busy. They put it on the lift, fixed it, and didn't even charge me! I definitely will continue to use them!!

I went to Citgo to get an inspection sticker. After 30 min in the garage, my car came out with a rejection sticker. The guy said I needed a whole new headlight assembly which costs $400+ labor. I went elsewhere (Chris’ auto repair in Winthrop) and all I needed was a bulb adjustment. Chris ended up getting me an inspection sticker and fixed my headlight for $100. I have never had a positive experience at Citgo. I only went there because it was convenient. I will never go back and these people should be ashamed of themselves trying to take advantage of a young woman.

If you're looking for a place where you can leave your car -- and pick it up, knowing that the car is fixed and the price is fair, then this is the place. Gus is just one of those guys that makes me breathe a sigh of relief -- because I suspect we've all had terrible experiences with a mechanic who didn't fix the problem or who maybe overcharged us. Gus is a straight-shooter. We took my wife's car in, knowing it was going to be expensive, and he said, no -- he can repair it without having to order the new, expensive part. He's here for the long haul -- and he knows that creating a network of satisfied customers is the only way to build a business. And my wife and I, having come to him for years now, are very satisfied customers.

Gus and his staff are courteous and honest. I am grateful I was referred to this service station. I moved here a year ago and know very few people here. Thank you Gus for taking good care of my car, and giving me rides home. Off to Colorado 🙏😊

I have to say, there are some awesome people that work at Paradise Citgo, and most of the time it's very hard to say that about a mechanics. Not once have I been disappointed. They're friendly, and the waiting area is clean. They explain everything that needs to be done in a way that a person who doesn't know much about mechanics would understand. Gus is also a hard worker and takes care of his customers. You wouldn't be disappointed! What I love about this place is that they don't rip you off on prices like other places do, and they never take longer than necessary. They give you a time, and it's always ready by that time. I never thought I would be on here rating a mechanic, but I think their hard work needs to be acknowledged!

Every time I need a puncture fixed, or a quick repair, these guys get it done fast and cheap. They are also honest when it comes to inspections (unlike other stations that have discovered my recently-installed headlights were "burned out and need to be replaced")
