I came home from school drop off and a Bill’s Auto Clinic to truck was blocking the street. I gently tapped the horn. It took the driver a minute to even acknowledge me. He walked partly over and yelled out “go around,” but that would require going over the curb, so I asked him to move up just a few feet. He shook his head and kept working. Very rude.
charged me 34$ for a 0.6 mile tow, guy working, neck beard and glasses, told me to "shut the up", threatened to not let me leave with my car and said "I dont have to give it to you", all while he and some girl had red solo cups with "who knows" in them laughing. this place should really be looked into, never in my life seen such power tripping and disgracefulness. embarrassing to even know this place exists
Drove our car with the e brake on. Definitely had to underage girls drinking in their car. Seemed to be a double date at work. Tried to actually physically fight us when we complained about the price and then tried to refuse to give us our car. Couldn’t be more illegal and sketchy. One star is a high review

This place is absolutely horrible. The customer service is beyond terrible, and “price gouging” doesn’t even begin to describe it. I was charged nearly $200, and on top of that, they add an illegally high credit card fee to cover their own financial shortcomings—which is no surprise given the rundown state of the lot and garage as a whole.
They towed me even though I was parked in a spot where an employee of the garage specifically told me it was okay to park. The owner was present the entire time, glaring nastily from the back, while the staff treated me with rudeness and zero concern. It was unprofessional, aggressive, and deeply unsettling.
As a young woman, I can’t even begin to pray hard enough that no one else has to go through what I experienced today. They rushed us out, tried to close the gate on us before we even had a chance to put the GPS on, and showed no respect or decency at all.
To top it off, as we left, we saw another employee climb out of a truck with their company logo—wearing filthy, mismatched socks and no shoes. That visual sums this place up perfectly: unprofessional, careless, and crooked.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Get a lawyer if you’re ever forced to deal with them. They are nothing but crooks.
Two nights ago they towed my car, as I was parked too close to a corner. Ok, my fault, I own that. I went to get my car back first thing yesterday morning and I saw that the tow truck driver’s hat was in my passenger seat, which means he went into my car when I wasn’t present. I found out later from the police that he should not have done that. Also, ever since I picked my car up, the key won’t turn all the way off and is stuck in the ignition. Also, the light on my dash says “Theft Attempted”. Now my battery is going to die from not being able to turn my car off completely. I have to take time out of my day and miss a day of work which I won’t get paid for in order to try to fix whatever they screwed up.
Bill's towing towed my car the weekend before last. I was parked in front of a garage that i didn't notice because it has plants growing on front of it and it was tiny. So its my fault. However. My car was uphill, so the emergency brake was on and the car was locked. They towed my car with it on and then broke in a released the brake after. Two days ago after using the ebrake again, and putting it down fully, my back wheel started smoking while i was driving and the disk was super hot. They broke my car because they don't care about other people's property and im hearing that this isn't the first time their workers were neglegent. Zero stars.
My car was towed to this location! I had left my heart medication in the car when I was taken to the hospital! A gentleman who I called took time to bring my meds to me in Rehab ! They have helped me during this process as I was in Rehab! Emptying the car , removing my plates ! They went above and beyond to help me! Thank you so much!!
I locked my keys in my car at Drs office and I figured I'm going to be awhile so I started AAA Bills Tow saved me before I was even seen! Very nice and so quick Thank you for your help today I wish I remembered the young man's name He was so nice
I seem to have terrible luck with cars but phenomenal luck with Bill’s Auto Clinic. These guys are the best of the best when it comes to customer service. They will talk you through your problem on the phone, extremely patient and kind. I have even had an employee from Bill’s call me back to make sure I made it home okay. Today I got a flat tire, ETA was 15 minutes — he was there in 10 and had my tire changed in 5. One of the best businesses on the north shore, best business in the business in my book. 10/10 highly recommend Bill’s Auto.
Professional, nice guys and fair prices, I called explained my situation and they came within 30 minutes. The team took great care of my vehicle while loading and unloading off their ramp truck.
I would definitely recommend these guys. Seems like a lot of the negative reviews here are just people complaining their car got towed for parking in illegal spots.
Honesty is the best policy. Upfront he lest me know that AAA would cover a portion of the tow if I called them first and called him back. He did t have to do that and I appreciate looking out. I have a problematic old Benz so I’ll probably use him again
My car was taken by this place in addition of having to pay $75.00 for parking violation to Salem MA.,first time that I have parking violation ticket, this place charged me $160.oo,to get my car back, it's an abuse charging that much, hopefully I never need of their service, if to take your car cost that much I wonder how expensive must be any mechanical service there. The driver was nice but I felt like being robbed of my money
David (Whitey) and his crew were so kind and helpful when my daughter and I broke down in Salem. We were passing through traveling from DC to ME on a Friday evening and they helped us when no one else would. We are so grateful to them!
Tower was so rude and unprofessional. I did what AAA told me to do, and then a guy called me and started yelling at me that AAA told me the wrong thing. When I asked him why he was so upset with me, he said he has to explain this to people all day long, as if it’s my fault. Horrible customer service, they should only be allowed to tow the cars and have no contact with customers.
car was towed due to circumstances out of my control. should of not been towed. called talked to manager. was rude to me. he needs to stay in the tow business and not deal with people. steer clear of this business. by the other reviews its pretty obvious they clearly they don't care about there customers.
These guys are super friendly, and did amazing work. I was caught in a hard place with a broken drive shaft, and they offered a very reasonable local tow, and offered to just lump the charge in with the repairs. These guys are awesome, and definitely know what they’re doing. Thanks for the help!
These guys are the best. Quick, patient, reasonably priced, upfront about the price before the tow, and very good at the towing itself. I'll be using these guys any time I need towing or roadside assistance. Already recommended them to a few forgetful friends who lock their keys in their car.
I got my car towed in Salem an hour after they put the no parking sign up. What a scam. The guy at the tow yard was pleasant enough but I am pretty sure the city of Salem intentionally did this. Either that or whoever was supposed to put the sign up was negligent. I had three witnesses... anyway, the tow guy was cool about it. I am sure they deal with a lot of peeved people so I appreciate that he was friendly.
Oh, and they said they were open on the sign but nobody was there and we had to call and wait 20 minutes or so for someone to come. You may want to call ahead if you are getting a ride over there.
I am giving 4 stars because I had to wait, but the process was easy to get my car back. It ain't their fault that they have to tow a car, so be nice to them, yeah?
Dishonest doesn't even begin to describe them. I got in a car accident, they towed it to their lot. I went straight to the lot to get the car and have AAA tow it to a place to be repaired. They refused to give me the car. He claimed the tow driver had the receipt (not the office) and wouldn't be back for hours. He made us leave stating he was leaving and closing up shop. We waited outside the gate for 45 minutes, he never left the shop. The driver pulled up and finally I was able to remove my car for a ridiculous fee.

After working all night in the ER and waiting two hours for my insurance company to send someone to change my flat tire, I was informed no one wAs coming. I called 10 places before I called Bills , who sent someone immediately to get me back on the road . Reasonably priced as well. Thank you John !
I had the unfortunate experience of having Bills hired through AAA for a car tow to my car dealer two days ago. The car left me in pristine condition - with just an electronics problem. It arrived at the dealership with significant damage to the back under carriage and bodywork and is not driveable. Do not use this company. If I could give zero stars I would. They did not even follow up with me in the 24 hours AAA said that they would give them to contact me. Disgraceful. Unprofessional and total lack of customer service and accountability.
Here is a follow-up, the car is totaled. What more do I need to say.
Called to get a new AAA battery installed, after 8 very long phone calls bills send a jump instead. I told AAA I’d wait for a battery truck , I knew they were very busy. H tow truck driver who showed up was rude. Sarcastically said I’d have to wait. I KNEW this already from talking to AAA. Now a call has gone against my membership and again on the phone waiting 35 to 40 minutes just to talk to AAA. This is inexcusable. Then I called Bills to just get an answer to two simple questions. He informed me he’d have to go as he needed to answer calls. I WAS HIS CALL. RUDE RUDE RUDE. Update,. So the other day I called to get a jump. The automated AAA SITE SUCKS, IT LACKS confidence. So the driver calls me telling they can’t find the stranded vehicle. Tells me he’s at the correct area but not the street number. That there no such number. I ask him what street he’s on. He rudely tells me he knows where he is. I argue with him for 10 minutes. I let him know the cross street. In short. He’s on the wrong street after all. Doesn’t apologize for being rude and on the wrong street. These people are so incompetent it hurts. AAA SHOULD REALLY BE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE. IT REFLEXS POORLY ON THEM.
Fair, responsive, careful & trustworthy. We had a very good experience with Bill's. They know the tow business. We contacted two other tow companies on the North Shore and neither had availability. We're very happy it worked out that way. Thanks Bill's!
I had to have my car towed this afternoon to my car dealership and the tow truck guy.. (I’m awful with names started with an N) at bills towing company was fantastic. We encountered a person harassing us as we towing the vehicle and he imidately was concerned about my safety and the concern of him entering my apartment. He called the cops and kept me safe and stayed until the cops arrive. The man got arrested and I went from freaking out to calm in seconds. I couldn’t thank this person enough..such great service and was a really stand up guy! Thank you thank you!
I just wanted to let you know how satisfied I was with the service your company and employee, Matt, provide to me today. My car’s battery died, so I called AAA. Within about 10 minutes, I received a call that someone was on his way. When Matt showed up, he was courteous and extremely helpful, and he had me up and running very quickly. He performed a battery diagnostic test, was very helpful in explaining the results, and got my car started immediately. I could not have been more satisfied with the service Matt provided and am very grateful for his help today!
Saturday morning I was greeted with a flat tire at my home in Marblehead. I called AAA and they sent Bill’s Auto Clinic. Surprisingly it was a very pleasant experience. The gentlemen arrived in minutes. They were professional, pleasant, and efficient. They turned what could have been a miserable day into a pleasant experience. I am very grateful. Thanks.
Andres from Bill’s came to my house this evening after I called AAA because my car would not start and was making a strange clicking noise. He was wonderful…professional, thorough, testing my car and reporting good news…the alternator was fine, but the battery was not.

I just want to let you know how happy I am with the service you provided yesterday. I called AAA because I had a dead battery and they said you d be out within 90 minutes. Imagine my surprise when your van arrived twenty minutes later! Matt, the gentleman who was here to help was not only polite and very nice but he took the time to explain each of the steps he was taking before replacing the battery. It was so nice to know that he actually making sure that it was the battery and not a bigger issue. I like the way your company does business - I ll remember that AND recommend you.
