Peter / Riverside Garage came highly recommended by my mechanic friend who couldn't fit me in at the time, so I already knew I could trust him. I've been getting my repairs and inspections done here ever since. Peter never disappoints. He always comes through when I'm in need. He's great at what he does, honest and upfront/direct and extremely helpful making recommendations on which repairs to prioritize. I really appreciate the work he does and the kind person that he is.

I've always gone to them for my inspections and anytime I've had an issue with a car. There prices are fair, service great and they've always been upfront about any cost or issues I have or may have with my car. Like changing my back tail light after going over options, either replacing the glass casing so I don't have to keep replacing a light because there is some break I can't see leaking in water, which will save me more money overall. I've even bought a car from them, and again they were upfront about it's issues and when the battery died a month after purchase they replaced it free of charge (unlike some dealerships I've dealt with that have said, well u drove it off the lot, not my problem). Honestly I recommend them to everyone in my family and friend group.

I had taken my car to another garage for repair and they said that it was an break issue which was not true. I brought my car here they found the real issue and fixed it. They even went the extra miles to fight with my warranty company to pay for it. This place is amazing! Nice people, and very helpful.

My fiancé's 2019 Chevy Equinox had a warranty repair. We were sent to Pep Boys as the closest in-network shop. As soon as my fiancé mentioned that it wasn't an out-of-pocket job, the manager insulted her, insisted that the brake and engine problems were "User error" and minor. He then called the warranty provider to have the claim denied out of spite. I called the warranty provider and was referred to Riverside Garage where the Equinox was diagnosed and fully repaired in 24hrs by an amazing mechanic who went to bat for us on the warranty. Turns out that the "minor user error" problems were the result of a vacuum pump that had literally exploded into 30 pieces, making the vehicle extremely dangerous to drive. Long story short, Riverside Garage is fast, friendly, and extremely professional, and warranty or no, its worth the drive to Haverhill, MA to have the work done right. And now they have customers for life, unlike Pep Boys. A+

After buying from Carvana, I went to Riverside to get some work done as they were in SilverRock's network. Even though SilverRock ultimately decided they wouldn't cover them, Peter fought hard to get my brakes done under warranty. He even gave me a discount for the inconvenience. When I arrived 5 minutes after close, worried that I might have to pick my car up the next day, he was sat at his desk and chatted with me for another 20 minutes. Peter is a genuinely kind person who will go above and beyond to help you out. Read the other reviews. They all agree. You should come here.

I had a wonderful experience here! Came in today for an inspection sticker with no appointment and they were able to get me in and out in about 15 minutes. Very personable and friendly owner. Would reccomend anyone come here.

I needed a state inspection. Called in the afternoon and my call was answered within 10 seconds. I asked if they could get me in around 4:30 (they close at 5). Very friendly gentleman told me they can get busy near closing on the last day of the month, but to give a call when I was on my way and he would be sure to get me in. When I got there he gave me great information, helped with information about RMV, got the inspection done fast and sent me on my way a happy customer! Great experience!

I love these guys! They are honest, reasonable and accommodating. I would never take my car anywhere else. This is a place that truly tries to offer a good service to its customers. The owner- I just can't say enough - strong ethical values - sometimes a rare commodity at a garage!

I thought at first this was a good shop. I was even referred to it. I had to get a new starter, which cost me about $500. This happened August of 2022. This past week my starter went and I had to get a new one. This is totally unacceptable that I spent more money on a refurbished starter that only lasted me 1 year!!! I will never ever go back here. I was totally ripped off. As well as when I picked up my car, the sway bar was broke so I had to replace that. Never ever again...

Peter was very courteous, professional and kind. I arrived promptly at 8:00am when they opened on Saturdays, he greeted me and quickly got to work on a needed MA inspection sticker. I left by 8:20am a happy customer. Thank You !!

On my ride home from Maine to Rhode Island, my Nissan Murano started shaking, rumbling intermittently. I was afraid one of the wheels were going to come off. I got off 495 in Haverhill, looked up nearby garages (on the Around Me app), and found Riverside Garage. Boy, did I luck out. Peter, the owner, took my car for a quick test ride - the car didn't shake/rumble then (isn't that always the way). He then checked the wheels - all were good except for one. As it turns out a lug nut was missing so he put one on and I was good to go. I got home safe and sound. I was so pleased. No appointment, the shop was busy, but he squeezed me in. Thank you Peter! Have recently been coming here to get my car inspection done. Super quick, convenient and at the best price. Some places want to charge more but not here. Owner is great and he let’s you know beforehand if he sees an issue. Doesn’t waste your time or money! Definitely recommend.

Peter was super helpful last week when my dad's old Infiniti broke down and it needed to be towed to his shop and repaired (unfortunately I don't have AAA). He was able to quickly get a tow truck to pickup the car, talked me through the options for a new alternator (I gave him a rough price range for what I wanted to spend for repairs) and he went above and beyond to get the car back in running shape (all for under the budget I had in mind). Really appreciated the help and great service!

I came here to have Peter owner of car shop to check my rear break, because sometimes I can hear noise like grinding a sand , when this happens I had to step in my break more, But doesn’t happen at all times, so the owner recommended to change break pads in the front. he said he cleaned the break in the back which is what is all needed to clean it I believe when it’s done I should feel the difference if he installed new break pads, but it wasn’t sometime I can still hear little noise. this owner seems like his not honest he charge me $350 just to clean the back it’s how I strongly feel, I’m going to have my car check to my regular mechanic I want them to look at it if break pads is new, there aren’t new after all . never again go to this riverside garage shop . I always think if they see women about bringing car to them seems like they take advantage of you

The gentleman who did my inspection of my truck vehicle was amazing. The customer service was awesome and I had my truck in and out in about 20 mins would definitely recommend!

I had what I thought was an emergent situation while making an 8 hour trip from Maine to Pennsylvania. My car was shaking and I was very concerned that something was seriously wrong with it. Being a Saturday, I wasn't confident that anyone would be able to assist me. I was wrong. I Googled garages near me, read the reviews, and gave them a call. To my surprise, he told me to come right over and he would take a look at it. He was very forthright with me by saying he couldn't guarantee he would be able to fix it. He explained that he might need parts that he didn't have or couldn't get. I understood, but appreciated him giving it a look. Once I got there, he took my car for a drive. I had explained in detail what happened and he did a few brake checks and took it up the road and then a little farther to see if he could feel and hear what I was. He determined it was mud build up in my tires that was throwing them out of balance. He took the car he had been working on out of the garage and took mine in to remedy the problem. He came back out, told me to take it for a drive and see if it was any better. I could see the remarkable difference immediately. He was an absolute life saver to me! It may not have actually been an emergency, but I had another 7 hours to go, and it gave me peace of mind knowing I wasn't at risk of putting other motorists in harm's way while traveling. When I asked him what I owed him, he said whatever I thought was fair. I have no idea what was fair, but I appreciated him getting me right in, and not disregarding my concerns because I'm a female. He was very courteous, professional, and polite. I really lucked out making his number my first call. If you have any reason to need a mechanic in the area, I would strongly encourage you to give him a call. My treatment there gave me back my faith in humanity. He could have told me he had appointments and didn't have time to do anything, but he didn't. He didn't even turn me away when he realized it wasn't anything major. I stopped by with an emergency and the Manager/Owner fixed it for me and stayed late to help me. I am very grateful to Riverside Garage. Both my windows fell into the door panel and he saved me and my kids from driving around in 30 degree weather. I have used them before today as well and they did a great job then too! I highly recommend them and they are better than 5 stars!

I come here every year for my MA vehicle inspection and find myself also ogling the great used vehicle inventory on the lot. The used car selection is LEGIT! There is always a good variety of low to average mileage used cars for affordable prices at this garage! Much more reasonable than buying used from a dealership... Since I have a reliable, not too old Corolla at the moment, am not in the market for a new used vehicle - but if I were, I would shop here first given my experiences here with the owner (so nice, friendly, knowledgeable about the area) and realization that this garage does not gouge the customer. I will definitely come here for the next issue that arises. This is a reputable small business providing a service and offering customers a great amount of transparency. If you are in need of an inspection, call ahead or pop in to schedule an appt. during 2020 COVID times, the owner will fit you right in and tell you when to come back to (safely) wait in the a/c lobby for your vehicle.

Great service, very friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to work with you to ensure your vehicle is legally inspected. He addressed the rust on my fender and informed me about my headlight adjustment, those deficiencies will be taken care of accordingly. The owner is a conversation starter and is definitely great to talk to. Unfortunately the conversation of choice was about politics because of my MAGA hat but we respected each other's personal views. I highly recommend this place on whether you need a vehicle fixed or inspected; in addition, it appears you can purchase vehicles through here as well but I could be wrong. So if you're looking for anything, feel free to ask about the various selection of vehicles.

Great service here. Went in for an inspection sticker and ended up chatting with the guy for longer than the inspection took, he's super friendly. I don't know much about cars so garage experiences can sometimes be intimidating, not the case with Riverside. I heard the guy talking to another customer in the room and he was very honest and up front about what needed to be done and what was not an immediate problem, no pressure to get unnecessary stuff done. I'll definitely be going back there with any car problems in the future.

The owner I believe by the name of Peter has a real condescending attitude. Came in for an inspection, failed the first time which is okay, but when I asked for estimate on the job because he obviously knew what was wrong with my car. He tells me to shop around to compare rates. He, says why would you trust me? Which is great gesture, but I really would just like an estimate upfront. I ask for an oil change, he says, he doesn't do oil changes because they're not worth his time. I had the work done elsewhere and I come back for my second inspection. I passed, and the next time I need an inspection, I'll pass on this place.

I was thrilled with my experience!! I would highly recommend going here for service. Pete was unbelievably helpful! I was having one of my worst days. A simple car inspection took forever due to unforeseen problems with my car. He worked with me. Coached me on how to handle the problems I was having with my vehicle. Not only that but the guy before me was getting upset, and I thought he did a great job handling the situation by calming the man and explaining everything. I appreciated the experience!

Such a nice guy, great service, more than reasonable prices. I went in last minute late afternoon for service to my car. Pete could not fit me into the schedule that day, but topped of my fluids and checked things out before scheduling me for the next available appointment- a definite first in my experience. I am someone who is truly ignorant about mechanics, and he explained things to me in a way no one has ever taken the time to. He was very aware that all cars have histories and mechanical work that impacts them so that no one system is the same. I thought this was amazing because he was taking so much into account for what my vehicle needed. Pete was kind and took time to explain things to me on my level and had no problem repeating it for my boyfriend when I could not. I am grateful that this is where I went and this is where I will continue to go!

Peter at Riverside was excellent. I showed up right at closing, needing an inspection sticker. It was 90 degrees out and Peter still took me. He was happy to do it, too. The inspection was quick and reasonably priced and he was nothing but friendly and grateful afterwards. I will definitely be going here from now on.
