Great place. Great sandwiches. Great steaks to take a cook!

In this place I ate the best reubens sandwich in the world, do not miss the opportunity if you are nearby. And if you are not, consider taking a trip to do it, the experience will transform you forever.

Great small spot to stop on the way to Bousquet Mtn ! or if your staying down in Lee just a short trip for a great sandwich. friendly staff younger women at the front especially. ( i was the green shirt guy if you see this) Corey.

This quaint market fits so well into the landscape of West Stockbridge. Prior to the new lovely owners taking over, the market was convenient as a sandwich shop or any quick stop. The thoughtful, organized transformation is wonderful. They stock many items I normally would stand in line for at a supermarket. My first encounter with the “new” store was very positive. I met the delightful owners who seem to love the place as much as we long time customers do. Public Market fills a need for the West Stockbridge shoppers as well as those padding through. Coffee, sandwiches, meat, milk, cookies, every staple you can imagine plus more. I loved this market for years. I’m looking forward to many more years of friendly interactions and meeting new friends and catching up with the old friends.

Had always been the best sandwich in town. Under the new management the store itself has gone from good to great - excellent choice in specialty and standard products - an abundant selection for such a limited amount of space. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. Public Market is a true public service in an area that is a bit lean when it comes to quality convenience options.

Change is good, but not this time! This place was great until new ownership came in and changed everything that we loved about our local market. The changes don't even make sense, they appear to be based on the whims of the new owner rather than what is successful and satisfying to customers. The last time I went there I got coffee at 730am and it was cold! The hot food and prepared sandwiches used to be great, now they are strange and unenjoyable. We see things like egg sandwiches served on cheap and soggy hamburger rolls. No hard roll? Go to any deli in the northest and you will NOT see this...anywhere. The store layout has you tripping over yourself and others while you search for products that they keep moving to another location or no longer carry. When I have to work hard to find the latest location for iced tea, it becomes a waste of my time. Again, why even change the layout when it doesn't optimize your space and create a better flow? Please call the previous owner to get a refresher on how to run a general store, including asking them what products sold the most and finding out what years-long customers liked. We are done with this place because they are more concerned with their own feeble ideas than with customer satisfaction. There is no attention to detail...there's no attention at all.

This place has seriously gone down hill. This is their $11 reuben.

OMG a gigantic tuna salad wrap (made from scratch) for $9. Great deal. Lots of sandwich options at the deli counter (choose bread, protein, etc.). Free street parking. When other places are closed for mid-Saturday lunch, this rocks.

This place sucks now. Paid over $50 for two sandwiches. Put no condiments on, nothing we asked for, and added onions which we said no to? All kids working there

Public Market rocks. I can’t believe how much good stuff they fit in this place. Perfect mix of critical supplies and fun stuff. Great for a coffee/paper in the morning; great for an amazing sandwich at lunch. Staff is fun + I love running into neighbors inside or out front on the sidewalk.

I’ve been to a lot of places and never had as friendly of a cashier as I did here. I appreciated them making me smile on a day where I was in any mood but doing that while out ‘driving around.’ Thank you for that.

This is a great little market and sandwich shop. It’s not fancy but it has many things you need and is very reliable. They also make good sandwiches at a reasonable price.

Excellent coffee, good breakfast sandwiches, nice small-town atmosphere. If only the staff and owner could greet the customers with “good morning”, it would be a very enjoyable place.

Painfully slow sandwich service, not worth it. Not complaining - I know it’s a summer weekend in the Berkshires. Just beware. Otherwise cute, tiny shop.

Be cautions if ordering food during busy times as they may have a lot of phone orders. We walked in and waited almost 40 minutes for a food to go order. Certain events at Tanglewood or in the surrounding area may also impact how busy they are. We will probably go back but only off season.

The sandwiches from here are a favorite of ours. Whether grab and go or from the deli. Offering local baked goods is a huge bonus! Groceries are a bit pricey, but thats to be expected for convenience.

Friendly staff. Fantastic deli. The Ruben sandwich was the best that I have ever had!

Great lunch sandwiches. Large and generous. Decent selection of chip and drinks. Decent selection of wines given it's small size. Basics for groceries.

This place is amazing. Staff is wicked friendly, the food is great. The cooks making the food take as much or more pride in the food they produce as chefs in 5 star joints!

wow pleasantly surprised stop there on my way back to Great Barrington and was greeted with a wonderful sandwich menu very creative I got the Maui sandwich pulled pork shredded pulled pork very very good I can't imagine any of the other selections would be any less but very nice little shop the girls were pleasant they're very safety oriented. If any area you must stop.

Rude and indifferent staff. One making sandwiches w/out gloves while holding phone between her shoulder and head yelled at me to move back while I was speaking to another staff member. Neither could answer any questions about the food they ‘make’ because “they get it in packages and put it together”. So many great places in this area. Skip this joint unless you’re desperate.

There's nothing I enjoy more than a home town, Ma/Pa kind of place and this store is just wonderful! Lots of stuff available for a quick pop in instead of a long visit at the big food chains plus hot ready meals and sandwiches made to order.

The deli subs we ordered were good but at 12$ for a large (12inch) and 6$ for a small (6inch) it is a little pricey.

Wonderful sandwiches at great prices and decent coffee and breakfast sandwiches. A place where locals hang out and where you can pick up well-made prepared food for taking to Tanglewood.

A little gold mine in West Stockbridge. I have never been in there when there has not been someone else buying something. They make great sandwiches which are very popular with the "construction" crowd. There are a few small tables outside and a couple inside. Beer/wine snacks/coffee, sometimes prepared meals. Very friendly folks. A gem.

I LOVE THE PUBLIC MARKET!! It's my favorite stop every morning and afternoon! As a service professional, I look forward to the variety of coffee and snacks they have to offer. If your a regular, you already know the girls behind the counter are PHENOMENAL!! Out of towners sometimes feel slighted, but that's only because they lack the decency to be patient and considerate of the huge amount of transactions that take place during the busiest times of the morning and afternoon! It doesn't take a genius to observe how feverishly these people work to satisfy the huge onslaught of orders during peak times. This is home to a lot of local retirees and workers, and I totally appreciate that. Tim Harrington and his wife are the wonderful young entrepreneurs of this thriving business, and they both expend a tremendous amount of time and energy to do the right thing.
