Camp Taconic has been the most fun 7 weeks ever! Everyday is different and the energy here is unreal. The campers are amazing and bring so much joy, the counsellors feel like friends you’ve known forever, and the directors make sure everyone feels welcome and looked after from day one.
Being part of the campers’ summer has been awesome and such a rewarding experience. Taconic has something for everyone. I’ve met people from all over the world, and made memories I’ll never forget. Taconic really is like one big family, and the best place to spend a summer!
It is a good experiences this place has every single activity you could imagine the people is nice and the environment is also good. However sometimes it is hard to find your own space or you just get to tired of working long days. Overall it is an experience that a would recommend because of the love that receive from the kids and the friends that you can make at camp
Coming from a first year counselor at camp taconic this year, the staff here has done a fantastic job at making this place a second home for the summer and making me and everyone around me feel safe and loved
Camp Taconic is a well-run camp and such an experience for everyone. The staff is friendly and thoughtful, and they plan a good mix of activities that keep kids active and engaged. The food is good with plenty of variety, which is nice to see at a camp. It’s a comfortable, fun place where kids can enjoy summer, make friends, and try new things. The kids are happy and you can tell that they’re thriving being in this happy environment!
As a first time councillor at camp Taconic this year, I have enjoyed every moment and been welcomed into everything. I definitely want to come back next year and following years
Camp Taconic is truly an amazing place that feels just like home. From the moment you arrive, you're welcomed with open arms and surrounded by people who quickly become your second family. The range of activities is incredible whether you're into baseball, waterfront fun like swimming and boating, or arts and crafts, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The days are packed with excitement, creativity, and laughter. The directors are so kind and welcoming, and they go above and beyond to make sure every camper feels included and cared for. I can’t imagine a better place to spend the summer!
This place is separate from the rest of earth. It is its own city that creates memories and long lasting reality everyday. I couldn't recommend this place more.
I have been coming to camp taconic since I was 8 years old and I can’t stop coming. All of the counselors are incredible, the leadership with Jill and Jason is spectacular it is overall the best place to spend a summer.
My kids are always happiest when they're at their summer camp, Camp Taconic. They love the variety of activities - from waterskiing, adventure ropes course, theater, circus, to fabric design - where they take risks and get out of their comfort zone.
What really makes the camp special are the people. My children have made such wonderful friendships and always have such caring, empathetic, and energetic counselors.
Attending Taconic as a camper and then later working as a counselor was one of the most impactful experiences of my life. It wasn’t just about the fun (though there was plenty of that!) — it was about the friendships, the independence, and the life lessons that have stayed with me ever since.
Some of my closest, lifelong friends are people I met at camp. There’s something about spending summer days together — laughing through late-night talks, swimming, sharing meals, and learning side by side — that forges incredibly strong bonds. These friendships weren’t just for the summer; they’ve lasted well into adulthood.
Camp also gave me a real sense of independence. Being away from home, making my own decisions, solving problems, and taking care of myself in a new environment helped me grow in ways I never could have imagined at the time. I didn’t realize it then, but those small daily responsibilities were shaping me into someone more confident and capable.
Most importantly, camp taught me invaluable life skills — resilience, teamwork, leadership, empathy, and communication. Whether it was stepping out of my comfort zone to try something new, helping a friend through homesickness, or learning how to work as part of a group, every experience added to who I am today.
Camp Taconic truly laid the groundwork for future success in my life. I’m so thankful for the memories, the lessons, and the community I found there.
I loved my experience with Camp Taconic for the last two years. They helped make the process easy each year and allowed me to have the summers of my life. I found a family in the friends I made at camp and I truly feel changed by my experiences as friends made are friends for life. Though the hard times were hard, the good made it all the worth. I cannot wait to have my 3rd time returner year in 2025 and make it the best summer yet. Camp Taconic really became my home away from home in Scotland.
If you are thinking of having an event - wedding etc… look no further- Camp Taconic does it all. We were recently at a wedding and all I can say is WOW! Every detail was covered, food was amazing and the staff could not have been nicer and the camp grounds and bunks were immaculate! They truly thought of everything and we had an outrageous weekend.
Taconic provides the best summer experience there is. I have been going there for 8 summers and every year just gets more fun, exciting, and memorable. The friends I have made at camp with my bunk mates and counselors are some of the most precious relationships I have. The entire staff is friendly and amazing. The activities are great for all ages and the special events such as color war are my favorite days of the year.
We celebrated our wedding at Camp Taconic with 150 friends and family and it was the most incredible experience of our lives. We visited Taconic about a year ago, along with several other wedding venues, and none could compare. We wanted a place where we would have enough time to actually see and connect with the people at our wedding, where there was no bedtime and we had the freedom to do what we wanted. Camp Taconic beat other camps for three main reasons: 1) the Playhouse, where we had our reception, is a GORGEOUS building right on the lake that needs very little work to make it a beautiful space, 2) the camp comes with ~30 “motel rooms” with full beds and bathrooms for those guests who can’t handle the bunks, 3) JASON AND CHRIS!!! who made our wedding weekend possible. Jason was our point of contact at the camp and we’ve never worked with someone so responsive and helpful. Seriously, we’d email him a question and 9 times out of 10 we’d get a response in 30 minutes or less. The camp put on a great Friday barbecue and an incredible BONFIRE that lasted well into the night. On Saturday, Chris orchestrated the most hilarious and insane wedding olympics ever for us and all our guests. Jason and Chris also worked directly with all our vendors and our wedding planner to make sure the main event went off without a hitch. When it looked like it would rain during our ceremony, Jason and the team set up two locations just in case and helped ferry all the bridesmaids and bride through the rain in golf carts. Heroes!! They also provided a great space for our afterparty...which went until 4am. We had the wedding of our dreams at Camp Taconic, can’t wait to do it again for our 10 year anniversary :D
Camp Taconic is a very special place because of the interpersonal connections that form between campers and staff. This camp has hardworking, skilled, and happy counselors who provide campers with a memorable 7 weeks of fun in the beautiful setting of the Berkshires.
Camp Taconic is one of the happiest places on earth. I have spent four amazing summers here. The counselors are awesome and the campers are happy and friendly. You will catch the magic at Camp Taconic!
This is my daughter's third summer at Camp Taconic. The camp is beautiful, they are constantly making the facility even more incredible, and the owners and staff are wonderful. Most importantly, my daughter is beyond happy and the expression #live10for2 could not be more appropriate. Each summer she tries new activities and looks forward to the special events for geared towards each age group. She has made a true second family, and we love everything about the camp. A true gem- the happiness of all campers are the top priority.
The camp is terrific. A very well oiled machine. Directors are hands on and interact with all campers and staff. Sports and other activities are top notch . The camp is constantly renovating and upgrading the facility. You cant ask for a better summer camp !!. I have seen personal growth and confidence in my daughter over the years she spent at Taconic. This is truly her second home with friendships that will last a lifetime .
Beautiful camp with top of the line facilities. The owners of the camp do a great job making the camp fun everyone. I can’t wait to get back there this summer!!
Top notch leadership team with incredible facilities. They are constantly finding new ways to add value for current and prospective campers. 100% planning on sending my kids there.
Great camp, 5/5 consulars, 5/5 facilities, and 4 great 5/5 summers and more great summers to come. My best friends are there and this camp has everything i want. really nice looking, bunks look brand new and a beautiful landscape especially the view from the beach looking onto lake ashmere.
Camp taconic is badddddd. The food tastes like feet, and the counselors are mean. I do not like it tere , though they do have average activities that meet my requirements of fun.
