The people working here are very nice. Good transfer station just wish they were open 7 days a week. Seems like I always need to go when they’re closed.
The best, well run and maintained, transfer station/dump I’ve ever been to. The people that work there are awesome. The plaza is well thought out and easy to use. While you are there, check out the YES and NO display on what is and is not allowed to be recycled, the Swap Shop and the ever growing brush and leaf piles. The people that run and maintain the daily operations are there to help and can answer any questions you have. The recycling plaza closes at 3:30pm sharp, don’t arrive at 3:28 and expect a warm welcome. Plan your trip there accordingly.
Worker here are great! This is one of the best town transfer stations I’ve ever seen. The people work here really care and will answer any questions you might have about what can and cannot be recycled.
OK, call me crazy, but this is one of my favorite places in Wellfleet. Yes, yes, the bay beaches are outstanding, and the oceans beaches (if you don't mind sharing the water with sharks) are great, and the ponds-- fuhgeddaboutit. But the transfer station is a wonderful arrangement where you can get your stuff recycled in a very meticulous, categorized way. The staff there are friendly and helpful, and there is a place for everything-- even shells! My grandkids go gaga over the swapshop. The purple bag business is a bit weird but I suppose it makes sense. My only complaint: they start the post-season schedule right after labor day, making it harder for all-summer folk to do their final cleanup and get everything recycled properly.
The workers here are like the Gestapo. I didn't realize that my mother put a broken glass dish at the bottom of a paper bag filled with cardboard. He then lectured me about the glass being mixed with the cardboard as I was trying to explain myself he just cut me off and said, "yea its everyone else's fault". Then as I was grabbing the glass he then stopped me and said " to save everyone the inconvenience just thro everything into the normal garbage with the purple bags". Basically telling me to break the law and go against the states recycling laws
Very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, recycling clearly marked and organized and there is a place for anything you have such as wood, metal, mattresss etc.
Wellfleet Transfer Station and Swap Shop gives residents the opportunity to get free reused items and to recycle into other hands. Permit required for all but recycling.
