I have a small parking area in front of my cottage with a crushed seashell base. With all the storms and weather over the past year it was in need of some TLC. I looked online for places that sold bags of crushed seashells, like mulch, or similar, called a few places but they were too expensive, in my book. I called Cape Sand and Recycling and spoke with a gentleman who suggested the Dennis location had what I needed. He said to bring a bucket to carry whatever I needed. I went there this morning with a large kitchen trashcan and was greeted warmly by a gentleman (don't know if it was the same on the phone). I was quoted a price of $5 and change. He provided me a shovel, I filled up my trashcan 3/4 of the way, more than enough, and boom! Done. ON top of that, they pointed me to Grumpy's for breakfast. Great start to the day!
I started my small landscaping company 4 years ago and I live about five minutes from there location. I have purchased many top quality mulch selections including top quality screened loam/topsoil for new lawn installations plus they also deliver to customers properties. Very courteous and helpful staff. The office staff encouraged me to check their Dennis lot for shells as they had a shipment today. I was successful in securing a yard.
Inexperienced CDL drivers, bad phone etiquette, massacred access pathway and operations manager unwilling to compromise for customer longevity. Operations manager won't take responsibility for inexperienced driver getting stuck and tearing up neighbors lawn.
Bad business. Do not use for fire wood!!! We paid for half cord of horrible firewood. --- And rumors are that they raised their fees to price gouge after the recent storm. We are all in shock at the lack of self awareness.
