We have been taking our cars to the Cataumet location for several years and have never had an unpleasant experience. Everyone is always welcoming, helpful and willing to answer questions / explain what is happening.
Earlier this week we had our Lincoln towed in after it wouldn't start. Within a very short time, Shawn called to let us know that mice had gotten into and chewed up the wires. We were given a summary of what needs to be done and the cost and were kept updated about progress. Three days later our car is back and running beautifully.

4 weeks ago, I dropped my low miles Nissan Sentra off for Diagnostic . Car had trouble starting but ran great and started fine when warmed up. when I called later that afternoon I received a $1,450 estimate to replace a thermostat and small air intake tube. I told them to stop. When I pick the car up the service manager charged me $245 for a diagnostic and history scan. Nothing was fixed. I replaced the air intake tube for $85. The thermostat has nothing to do with a car turning over not starting. I later found out that the air flash fuel module needed to be cleaned inside. Never again
I recently had service performed at Falmouth Motor Car. First of all, a real, live person answered the call. Second, she was knowledgeable and personable. Third, she had to research something and said she'd get back to me in 15 minutes. She did. Fourth, the work was completed on time. Lastly, the work was done correctly. In this day and age, that's a 4 star job. Good work.

Spent almost 200 dollars for them to fix nothing. They couldn’t event put a belt on my car. They said the mechanic couldn’t get it to stay on. I brought it home and put it on and has been fine for a month. They try to sell you things you don’t need. Do not go here.
From out of of town. They were able to help me out of a serious bind. They were able to order a part in and replace it in the same day so I could get back on the road.
I needed to have my belts on my truck replaced.. called them and Shawn was more than happy to get me right in. The place is clean and the staff could not be nicer and more than happy to help. I will be using this repair shop for all my future auto/truck needs. THANK YOU!!!
I had service done at another place and they replaced my EGR valve on Thursday within 24 hours. I had no heat so I reached out to the service manager Shawn Alden at Falmouth motorcar in Cataumet on Monday and he stated to me to bring it right in. The mechanic on duty Dominic got right on it. Found out that I had air pockets in my cooling system. I was out in a couple hours and I had heat and no other problems. Thanks to the staff and Dominic for fixing the issue.
Not only can you count on expert mechanics to service your vehicle but they are so honest!
I received a phone call from Shawn informing me, I had left my credit card behind and it would be in safe keeping until I picked it up! They really take care of their customers! Highly recommend
The good folks at Falmouth Motorcar have taken care of my family's cars for at least a decade now. The service has been competent and reasonably priced. The office staff, Emma in particular, are quick and helpful. (the guys are a little Crabby!)
I recently made an "Emergency" call to Falmouth Motorcar: our motorhome RV wouldn't start and we had reservations for the Eclipse Viewing! I called them one day, the next day they had diagnosed and ordered parts and by noon the day after that I was driving home. Nuff Said.
We didn't have any previous experience with Falmouth Motorcar until our car broke down and had to be towed there. Was very happy with their service and promptness. Shawn and Emma were great. Would definitely recommend them.
Took a chance on getting a new sticker for my car about an hour ago at Cataumet Falmouth Motorcar. I was greeted by Shawn Alden who told me all I needed was my registration and that there was a waiting room next door. After about 12- 15 minutes my car was ready and all was well. It is amazing that there was no waiting and I was treated as a valued customer. I am grateful for their excellence in service!
I needed an oil change for my 2007 Toyota Camry. I asked for full synthetic oil. I was quoted $100 “no more than $110 after tax for full synthetic” on the phone.
When I arrived I asked, and the price went up. “No more than $130 after tax”
Since I was pinched on time, I understood I’d already be paying nearly double what an oil change should cost but let it happen. I should have just waited another week until my next day off.
It was not until after the service had been done that they charged me $145.77 for an oil change.
Not to mention I had to bring the car back because the mechanic didn’t turn the “maintainer required” light off.
These people kept changing the price each time I asked- and I paid over double what a full synthetic oil change should cost.
Stay away from this place if you’re not trying to get scammed.
We experienced a complete engine failure on a Sunday afternoon of a three day weekend while driving on I-195 in Wareham. AAA came quite promptly and we were taken to Falmouth Motor Car, an authorized AAA repair shop. I spoke to Sean on Monday morning and he assured me they would deal with the issue. It became clear that there was not going to be an easy fix. I stayed in touch with Sean and provided clear and accurate information. Eventually his team determined that the repairs were so significant that the car needed to go to the dealer for warranty work. Although they did not repair the vehicle, I felt the team was responsive, professional, concerned and honest. They helped make a bad situation somewhat better. They were also very helpful in facilitating the tow pick-up to ensure that our vehicle was safely loaded for its 200 mile journey to the dealership. The office was also very responsive in terms of providing documentation of their efforts to fix the vehicle that I have provided to the dealer. A very professional operation.
Avoid this shop! Their work is acceptable, however, I cant recommend them because they squeeze every penny out of their customers. On a previous visit they wanted to replace rear wheel bearings on my car but never told me that I could have the work done under warranty. I finally realized this myself and had the work done for free at the dealership. On my last visit they charged $300 for a part that I found online for $120 from the car company. In addition they would not change my spark plugs unless I agreed to pay an additional $230 for "fuel induction service", something NOT called for in any of the maintenance guidelines for our car.
I'm new to the area, and had to register my vehicle in the state (another nightmare entirely). The folks here were helpful, explained some of the oddities of MA rules, and got me in and out for an inspection with no appointment in the middle of lunch hour. Could not have been much nicer, so they've earned my business from now on.
Simple in and out to get an inspection sticker. I do my my own repairs and it was nice to not have someone try to sell me services I didn't need just because I needed a sticker. Ive been to the other shops that find things just to bring in your business. Honest ,speedy and polite.
These guys helped me out big time! I was on my way to the airport when I got a bolt in my tire. Luckily Falmouth motorcar was right around the corner so I stopped in(quite in a panic) to see if they might be able to help me out. They got me right in and patched my tired and had me on my way within 30 minutes and couldn’t have been nicer about it! I was very relieved and still able to pick up my friends at the airport! I have had ordinary service done (oil changes, etc.) and major auto repair services done at the Cataumet service center. In both cases, I have been very satisfied at the results including the price. The people are friendly and accommodating as well as being competent. I also enjoy the waiting area; it’s very clean and comfortable. You can’t go wrong by having your automobile serviced at Falmouth Motor Car: Sean will see that it will be done right

I’ve gone to Falmouth motor car in Cataumet twice and regretted it both times. First time I brought my truck there to get all the tires replaced. When I picked up my truck everything from the glove box, center console or any interior compartment was thrown about on the floor. Second time I go I brought only a wheel to get balanced because I didn’t trust them to have a whole car. I get it back with 15-20 wheel weights on it and was told the rim is bent. I couldn’t see any bend but was worried so I brought the wheel to specialty shop and was immediately told the rim was fine and I needed a new tire. They have trashed my car and wasted my time enough I cannot recommend bringing anything to them.
Beware do not go here. Scammers. I brought my car into Falmouth Motorcar to fix a problem with my brakes. I’ve been working on my own cars for the last 23 years.
So when I noticed a sinking pedal and very low brake pressure I changed my brake pads. While bleeding the brakes lines to change out old fluid I saw bubbles in my master cylinder reservoir. So naturally I figured bad seals in the master cylinder.
I had a pretty busy schedule, so I decided to bring my car to Falmouth Motorcar to have them replace and bleed the system. I told them all of this and left a detailed note for the technician. This car is my pride and joy, and I’ve been over every inch of it.
They called me back two hours after dropping the car off with a laundry list of things that they said was wrong with the brakes. Fabricated lies. They said, Warped rotors, bad rear calipers, bent brackets, new rear brake pads Even though front and rear pads were only in for a day. The prices they quoted for parts was absolutely ridiculous. I priced out on my own what they suggested and it was half what they quoted. Even if I did need them it would be way too much. They wanted to charge me 1700.00 for everything parts and labor.
I bought the one part that I knew to be the problem and did the job myself, total cost 90 and it fixed the problem. This would have taken a technician 2 minutes to find the brake fluid leaking on the brake booster, and diagnose the problem. The problem I have is, they didn’t even have a master cylinder on the list of parts. They are crooked , and I would warn anyone to not go to either location. They will try and scam you out of money for things you do not need. Do not go here, They are crooks.

My last, and I mean LAST, experience at Falmouth Motor Car was because I getting a chemical smell when driving. We made an appointment hoping it was just a small leak and easy to fix. After 2 days we finally received a call with their diagnosis. They said it was the heater core and they could replace it in 3 days. When asked what that would cost, we were absolutely blindsided by the over $2,100 quote !! We paid the $180 estimate fee and took the car home. Falmouth Motor Car warned us not to drive until it was fixed. That evening we bought a $14 bottle of Stop Leak, used half of the bottle and miraculously no more chemical smells! Since then I've driven about 2 thousand miles with zero problems!!
