As I never received a survey after my stay like I was told I would, here’s my review: For the price paid, I wasn’t very impressed with the inn. At check in, I asked for a quiet room and I was assured I had been given a quiet room. Except we were placed…on the second floor, at the top of the stairs, which was not quiet at all. We heard everything going on in the hallway at all hours, including kids running around. Additionally, the food was disappointing - mediocre at best. We ordered once from the bar and had room service breakfast twice. My husband’s mushroom omelet on the second day was a dry outer egg wrap and diced mushrooms…with nothing else inside. Also, even though we had added a food/beverage package to our stay, we still had to pay gratuity, even when our meal totals were under the daily total package allowance amount. We also wanted to do s’mores one night, only to find that the marshmallows were hard and stale…in all of their pre-packaged s’mores bags. They also don’t have that many amenities to enjoy, especially in winter time. Although most of these things are small annoyances, they certainly matter when the inn is charging $800+ per night. Overall I’m not sure I’d stay here again - our stay certainly did not live up to the hype. I like St. Michael’s a lot, but there are certainly other lodging options I’ll consider instead in the future.

My husband and I spent three nights here for our babymoon in the dead of January (after the historic ice/snow storm!) and were blown away. The Inn was buzzy despite being the off season, and service was standout from every member of staff — we loved Andrea, who serviced both the Pub and Stars Restaurant, Brad’s history talk in the library, and every member of the truly exceptional spa team. You really couldn’t walk anywhere on the property without a member of staff saying hello and checking in, and it made our whole time onsite feel relaxed and warm! They also went above and beyond to acknowledge our special occasion, even leaving a sweet onesie in our room upon arrival. Our room was well appointed and comfortable, and we enjoyed all of the onsite amenities, from the spa to both restaurants (breakfast was especially standout!) despite it being a quieter time of year. The shuttles that take you to/from town were so convenient, and allowed us to enjoy town without having to manage parking. This was our first visit to the Inn, and we look forward to returning during the busier season, but would also come back during the winter, too, after this great experience! Truly exceptional in every way from beginning to end.

We went in January, slightly worried that going in the offseason would mean not experiencing the Inn at its finest - but boy were we wrong. The entire resort, and especially the room, couldn't have looked better or been cozier. We were there so I could propose to my girlfriend, and once I pulled that off, Mason, Nancy and Billy all helped with the celebration. Also, we did the Paint n Sip activity, which was hosted by Vicky, who was a real gem (and helped us turn some mediocre looking wine glass creations into something worth keeping and showing off!). All in all, we enjoyed every second and only regret not being able to say longer

One of my favorite spots (home away from home)! We really enjoyed all the fun activities from oyster painting, to the history tour, to an educational champagne toast embracing tradition - we can’t thank the staff enough for being so kind and friendly! We’ll be back!!

I love the Inn at Perry Cabin. We had a fabulous visit after a quick wedding. We loved the champagne toast and a dinner outside. It was truly lovely and the perfect getaway.

My fiancee and I spent a night at Inn at Perry Cabin to celebrate our engagement. The room they put us in was fantastic and had a nice water view. However, a few things I would say were not aligned with a 5 star property. First, our room was right in front of the hotel flag pole and due to winds we heard a dinging all night long which prevented us from being able to sleep more than about 2 hours. Secondly, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable and it was so soft that it felt that we were sleeping on the springs. I ended up moving to the couch because of how much the bed sagged. Lastly, the room was about 75 degrees when we first checked in and the HVAC did not work properly to cool the room, so we had to run the fan which was in the living space, rather than above the bed. I get that it's not peak season but this was a far different experience than my last trip to this hotel. As a gesture of good will, the hotel offered us a $50 credit towards our bill which I thought was at least kind of them to recognize the issue.

The Inn at Perry Cabin is a luxury, boutique hotel just outside the core of Saint Michael’s, Maryland, situated on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. Neither large nor small at 81 (we were told) guest rooms and suites, it sits on beautiful, spacious, and immaculately tended grounds. There is also a spa as well as seasonally available outdoor activities (tennis, swimming, golf, boating).| |Inside there is little to complain about – it’s all first class and very well staffed.||We are a happily retired couple and were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway within easy driving distance from our home in Washington, DC. For the most part, that’s very much what we got. Luxury comes with a high price tag, of course, but we knew that going in. This is not a place for bargain-hunters.||We had a nicely appointed suite with a lovely view of the Inn’s waterside grounds. We had all our breakfasts and one dinner in the Inn’s excellent main dining room, Stars, plus snacks one evening in the mostly-deserted (it was a Thursday in November) bar/pub. The food and service were very good.||We do wish there had not been one or more loud babies nearby at each of the meals we had in Stars (including the one we paid nearly $400 for), but it’s a family-friendly resort and some of that is to be expected. What we did not expect was a barking (and, occasionally howling), apparently unattended dog in the suite adjacent to ours. There are obvious advantages to being a pet-friendly hotel, but there can also be consequences for those looking for peace and quiet.||The housekeeping staff also missed us entirely on one of our three days at the Inn, but that may have been due to the somewhat remote location of our room and the fact that we only left the room available for a few afternoon hours on that rainy and coldish day.||In many ways, this is a terrific place to stay, in a wonderful setting. It was almost what we were hoping for.

Inn at Perry Cabin remains an absolute jewel on the Chesapeake Bay. While the property may no longer operate under Belmond, the charm, hospitality, and unwavering professionalism that define the Belmond experience are still clearly visible in this hotel. From the beautifully manicured grounds and the picturesque waterfront setting to the exquisite, detail-oriented interior design, the property maintains a sense of place, with classic elegance and sophisticated comfort. The staff is exceptional, delivering a level of attentive, yet discreet, service that makes every guest feel truly valued. The Inn offers a perfect blend of relaxation and activity. This is an enduring destination that successfully preserves its legacy of five-star luxury and unique local character. A stay here is truly restorative and highly recommended.

Nice property and excellent staff. No hot water after 3 min so it took forever to pour a bath which was never the proper bathing temperature. Disappointed especially at $1500+/night.

Had a wonderful stay for my birthday/staycation with my wife and this place is absolutely amazing! Was able to truly recharge, relax, and unwind thanks to the scenery and vibe of the inn. Staff was attentive and the grounds are immaculate. The waterfront views at sunset were surreal. Food from Stars and Purser's were top notch, the spa was excellent, and you're not too far from the town of St Michael's (which has a lot to offer for a tiny town). Definitely one of the best resorts in the Mid-Atlantic and highly recommended!

The hotel is incredible. The views, the grounds, the vibe… perfect little getaway. We got a room with a view and don’t regret the extra little splurge was worth it. The hotel is perfect walking distance to town and they have bikes to go into town. The service was OK but left a bit to be desired. My morning coffee (a custom one) was somehow lost in transit. The bar staff is friendly. Front desk and maintenance staff is awesome and very helpful. The wedding crashers theme plays throughout. There’s bar menu items and literally people under our balcony getting married. Loved our stay. Thank you guys! Will come back with friends — or when we renew our vows.

Tired of the idyllic peace and quiet of Saint Michaels? Feel like it needs a bit more of that “eastern Ukraine” vibe? Look no further than The Inn at Perry Cabin! Whether you’re a groom who watched “1917” and thought “now that’s the energy I want for my special day” or a bride trying to highlight the plight of families living under constant artillery bombardement, The Inn at Perry Cabin has you covered! Your overdeveloped sense of entitlement will squeal in delight as they detonate tens of thousands of dollars worth of explosives as late into the night as the law allows, without a care in the world for their neighbors, the environment, or the community! The once-idyllic Chesapeake town will think it’s under attack by the British all over again as the concussive force of your love for one another explodes outward with a peak overpressure and infrasonic shockwave that punches straight through the chest cavities of your enem— I mean, neighbors. With each successive airburst, hundreds of people you’ve never even met will think of you and send their own —highly personalized— wishes for the future of your union. They’ll thank The Inn at Perry Cabin for the sympathetic detonations of every car alarm and baby monitor as news of your love propagates across Saint Michaels at 350 meters per second. And they’ll thank you personally for the unforgettably brisant way those timeless memories return night after night through their infants’ sleep regressions, pets’ cowering whimpers, and brothers’ PTSD flashbacks. The Inn at Perry Cabin: come for the romance, stay for the mass casualty drill! INCOMING!!!

Received very disappointing service. I went sailing and ordered a fruit platter. It is my personal belief that if you are charging delivery fee and including gratuity, you owe it to your customers to provide top-notch service rather than the multi fruit that I received. When I reach out via email with photos of the mold on the fruit which was sitting at the top, I was prompted to provide my telephone number, which in an office itself proves a level of inattentiveness as my name and all other details related to my reservation were included within that email. Nonetheless, I provided my phone number and never heard anything back other than a “Thank you for confirming.” For the last few years, I have gone sailing at Perry cabin at least once or twice a year And have returned only because of the level of service however, if this is how things are or can be, no thanks.

Jonathan was outstanding – incredibly friendly, attentive, and diligent. He not only took care of us but also made sure our two little puppies felt welcome, which made the experience truly special! Puppy menu is so cute ?? Kai was incredibly helpful and courteous. He assisted us with docking our boat and made sure it was well taken care of while we enjoyed lunch and dinner at the restaurant. His service made our visit stress-free and enjoyable

We had a wonderful visit. Our room was gorgeous, with a beautiful view. Staff was helpful and nice . The town of St. Michaels is perfect.

Definitely a hidden gem at St Michaels, MD. This hotel is probably one of the most unique 5 star hotels across the whole DMV region with amazing water views of the Chesapeake Bay, a wonderful spa and cozy rooms. The nature and greenery in and around the property is definitely surreal. Additionally, an infinity pool that also provides food and drink options definitely elevates the whole experience, especially during a hot, summer day. Overall, I highly recommend choosing this place for an unforgettable stay in the wonderful charming town of St Michaels; do not overlook!

My company hosted a group retreat here, and the resort exceeded our expectations. Everyone in the group had a wonderful experience! In addition to the gorgeous views, the group raved about their beautiful and unique rooms and the exceptionally friendly staff. Everyone from the valets, front desk, and housekeeping couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Jay was a real standout! It's clear the Inn only hires the best!

The best place to unwind and breath. Once again, an incredible stay in our favorite suite. Wonderful environment. Spacious suite with a luxurious bath suite and dressing area.|Everyone, everyone making our stay better everyday. We love IPC and cannot wait to return to St. Michael’s paradise-IPC! |Pursers Pub was also wonderful-inventive, delis food and cocktails and wine. Super bartenders and staff

We did not stay at the resort, however went there for lunch and just a stroll around the property. The resort was beautiful, well manicured, but a lot smaller in person. Food - very disappointed. The food took 45 minutes for hamburgers and bisque soup. Second, The hamburger meat was beyond well done, the bun was charred black, and the soup was cold ! If you can’t get hamburgers and soup right, I’m afraid to try everything else. Needless to say, it was bad enough where I had to voice my opinion and get comped for the entire meal! I would give this place a solid 2.0.

Not worth the cost in my opinion. My husband and I traveled to the Inn at Perry Cabin in May for our honeymoon. Candidly, would not do it again. We arrived to our “waterfront” room (which we paid extra for) and there’s a massive tree blocking any view of the water, our shower was broken, our toilet was broken. My husband asked the front desk if we could have a bottle of champagne or something as it was our honeymoon, they told us to order room service. I’ve stayed at locations with much nicer amenities for much less $$. Daniel in guest services is probably the only reason we stayed - he did his best to make it right. The golf course is lovely and we really enjoyed our sailing trip. However, the bartenders at the hotel bar are not personable and trash talked other guests the whole time. It did not exude hospitable vibes whatsoever. In hindsight we wish we’d stayed at a local bed and breakfast. St. Michaels is lovely, but this establishment did not meet our expectations.

Hi there! I rarely leave reviews, even though I rely on them often—so after some thought, I decided to share my experience. I live out of state but spend time every summer in St. Michael’s visiting family. They have a lovely home on the Chesapeake Bay (about 5 minutes from this Inn), so I’ve never needed to stay in a hotel. That said, we’ve always enjoyed stopping by the Inn at Perry Cabin for a light bite to eat and drink before dinner in town...it’s charming, historic, and a nod to Wedding Crashers, which I love. I’ve made comments for years about actually staying here, and this summer (2025), we finally did! I have been looking forward to this evening all summer. We checked into the Inn on our last night in town, today: July 14th 2025. The staff was warm and welcoming, the grounds were immaculate, and the atmosphere was everything I remembered. It is a beautiful property, and the food was great. A great way to spend our final day in Maryland. Unfortunately, a storm rolled in this evening, and our two-bedroom suite developed a major ceiling leak—conveniently right above the bed. I had taken some photos earlier to share with family, and looking back, there were definitely signs of prior damage on the ceiling. It left me wondering if this was a known issue that hadn’t been addressed... When I called the front desk to report the massive leak, the response was friendly but slow. Nancy, who answered, said someone would call me right away. After nearly 20 minutes with no response, I called again and was also told the issue would be logged in their system as a “glitch” so management would be notified. However, a ceiling leak is not a glitch—it’s a structural issue....so that didn't make sense to me. Nancy then said they would be getting ahold of me very soon to move us to another room. Another 10 minutes passed with no contact. On my third call, it is now 9:30pm and we were trying to get our kids to sleep. I was told someone was on their way to move us—but to a one-bedroom suite, not the two-bedroom we originally booked. That was frustrating. The hotel didn’t appear to be anywhere close to full capacity on a Monday, and considering the circumstances—and the price point of over $1,000 for the night—I was surprised we weren’t offered an upgrade or even at the VERY least offered the same level of room. Ultimately, we packed up and moved our bags to the car and headed back to my family's house. To be clear: the hotel is beautiful, the room was beautiful and very clean, the setting is special, and everyone we interacted with was kind, including Nancy. But the customer service in a moment that really mattered fell short. It felt like a preventable issue that wasn’t handled with the level of urgency or service I would expect from a property of this caliber. I’d absolutely return for a bite to eat or a drink, but I’m not sure I’d stay overnight again or recommend it. For the price, the experience fell short—especially when it came to customer service at a critical moment.

We celebrated an important anniversary at the Inn at Perry Cabin in June, 2025. The Inn is a lovely property, beautifully landscaped and situated on the Miles River, which provides serene nautical views. We found everything to be 5-star quality at the Inn, and we would single out the extraordinary staff. To a person, they worked to make sure we enjoyed our visit. Our room was superb, beautifully furnished and very well-appointed. We look forward to a return.

Edit- the hotel’s response is exactly the same gaslighting we encountered each time we asked for help. Infuriating. —- We were so looking forward to our 2-night visit for a family wedding. We arrived Friday and were booked into 2 rooms and warned that the air conditioning took 45 mins to come on. After 2 hours, we let the front desk know that it wasn't cooling. They were suprised there was a problem and we waited. After 4 hours our rooms were 80 degrees and we couldn't get anyone to tell us what was going on. We asked to be moved but the hotel was completely full. Next, the hotel said the engineers had been working on it all day, meaning they booked us into rooms they knew didn't have working ac. We received a tiny, noisy window unit that was installed incorrectly with air able to come in around it. It helped a bit. The hotel promised it'd be repaired by the evening. It wasn't. Each time we inquired (we had to go up to the desk since they didn't answer the phone), the hotel acted shocked and refused to give us information about what was going on, only platitudes and empty promises delivered with a smile. The engineer came to our room at 10pm the first night, wasn't able to do anything. Long story short, for $2000/night (2 rooms) we had no ac for either night of our stay. The ac came on 2 hours before checkout. I was offered a removal of the resort fee for one day, then 30% off the first night. Absolutely ridiculous and insulting. After having to get the wedding planner involved, they took off the first night. Still not worth the remaining $2000. Communication was abismal. Horrendous experience and, needless to say, they did not make it right.

The hotel grounds are beautiful and well-kept and the rooms are comfy and well-appointed, but the real shining stars of this property are its staff. Everyone we have encountered has been friendly, helpful, and really have gone above and beyond to make it an unforgettable experience. Special shout out to Mason and Heather at the front desk. We had a snafu with one of our room reservations and let me tell you, Mason and Heather made us feel so well taken care of. They are not only helpful and professional, but also approachable and so kind, and they single handedly totally turned around what felt like a disastrous beginning of our trip to be just a tiny blip on an otherwise perfect weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We will absolutely be coming back to see them and the rest of the staff at this very special place!

This property is magical! We had the most lovely time visiting. Our lunch was spectacular! Johnathan, our server was so personable and helpful with any questions we had. He described the amazing private dining experiences we can book with a tasting menu and wine pairings… we will definitely be booking a long weekend here again with friends! 10/10 recommend

A True Gem in Every Season The Inn at Perry Cabin has always been one of our happy places, and this recent stay reminded us exactly why. From the moment we arrived, every member of the team—from the valet, concierge, to the housekeeping and grounds crew—was incredibly warm, professional, and attentive. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, and it really shows in the little things. We accidentally checked out without settling our bill, and Mason was fantastic in helping us get everything squared away quickly and kindly—true five-star service. The rooms and resort amenities are luxurious, and having an outdoor space made it even more special. We loved waking up to the sounds of birds with the doors open—an experience that made us feel totally at peace. Springtime here is breathtaking with all the flowers in bloom, but honestly, this place is stunning no matter the season. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, the Inn at Perry Cabin is a place where you can truly unwind, reset, and soak in the beauty of St Michaels.

On a whim, my wife and I visited the Inn for the first time for lunch. Had a wonderful time. The food, the service, and the setting were terrific. Highly recommend the deviled eggs; you've never had them like this. My wife had the cream of crab soup, the best she's ever tasted. And I had the salmon. Not something I usually order, but I'm glad I did. It was delicious.

Had a wonderful Stay last weekend with our pup. Everybody at the Inn at Perry cabin was welcoming; Mike, Ashley, and Doug went above and beyond. From the activities: we did rum tastings; to the food and service at the bar; and the amazing yoga. I also did a hydrafacial and it was a fantastic spa experience. This place is special and worth the hype!

This was our third time staying at the inn, and we have absolutely loved every stay. We have stayed in the main building on the first, second, and third floors. This past visit we were upgraded to a ground floor room with a patio which was lovely. The service here is a cut above. During our stay we realized the sliding door leading out to the patio wasn't locking properly, and an engineer came immediately to fix it. Guest services was able to quickly accommodate several items I forgot (tooth brush, lint roller) and were so friendly. Front desk staff are always very professional and pleasant. As for the rooms- they are lovely, although the beds could be slightly more comfortable (they seem to differ in quality between rooms, based on past experiences). Can't complain about a room with a fireplace and/or patio! Easy to set the room temperature, and Nespresso machines in the rooms that are restocked. The TV is to the side of the bed which makes it a little uncomfortable to watch, but we didn't use it much so it wasn't a big issue. We have eaten at STARS three times now. We have absolutely loved it every time. It is expensive and you have to get the tasting menu (no a la carte options) but the food has always been amazing. However, there are lots of great restaurants right down the street if you don't want to splurge. We also love the pub, and you can take your drinks into the library or onto the grounds. Lastly, the grounds are lovely. We have only been in the off-season (December, January, and March) but I can imagine how beautiful they are in the summer/fall. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're looking for a true getaway!

Our stay at the Inn at Perry Cabin was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, Armonie at the reception desk set the tone with her warm, welcoming demeanor and outstanding professionalism—she’s truly a gem. Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home; the hospitality here is truly world-class. The property itself is stunning—breathtaking views, beautifully appointed rooms, and attention to every little detail. We loved the daily activities, complimentary bikes, and thoughtful touches throughout our stay. It made our time in St. Michaels not just a getaway, but a truly memorable experience. This is a must-stay destination, and we can’t wait to return! Shanon & Jeremy Johnson, Journey Home Realty, LLC | eXp Realty
