The team at Poolesville Tire & Auto is always good. This visit, they were extraordinary !! The care and professionalism demonstrated reinforces why I trust my vehicle to them. Their assessments of work needed are fair and transparent. Their pricing is in line with the excellent performance!
Now and then I bring them an issue that isn’t easy to fix. What they NEVER do is waste my money on “let’s try this” answers.
Review for 🔑. I had a mixed experience: THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS EXCELLENT, but dealing with KEYS IS INEFFICIENT. I called in the morning; they said they could service the 🔑s without asking for the make or model. The locksmith was out but would return within two hours and call me back. After waiting over two hours with no call, I called and was told he had just arrived and would call back shortly, but I never received a callback. I waited another hour or two, and when I called again, I was told he had just walked in the door and was calling me back as I spoke to the shop. After waiting an entire day. When I finally reached the locksmith, he informed me he couldn't make a 🔑 for my vehicle, which was a complete waste of time. While the service department is excellent, if you need 🔑s, be prepared for delays. Consider calling another locksmith in the meantime.

Absolutely great service—straightforward, professional, and refreshingly honest. The team here knows their stuff and keeps things light with a great sense of humor. They always deliver exactly what I ask for without pushing unnecessary add-ons. On a previous visit, I asked for a recommendation for higher quality brakes, and this time I had them installed. The difference has been amazing—smooth and reliable, totally worth it. Highly recommend this gem of an auto shop in our little town!
Update (Holiday 2025):
I recently had a much bigger repair done after sliding into a guard rail during icy conditions and damaging suspension components and body panels. Even during a very busy holiday season, the team fit me in quickly, arranged a tow, and provided a complimentary loaner which made a huge difference for my family.
Once everything was coordinated, the process was smooth and transparent. Stephan in the body shop took the time to walk me through the damage, explain repair priorities, and the finished work came out beautifully — the car looks brand new. I even got the call that it was ready on New Year’s Eve, which was an unexpected and appreciated surprise.
Also want to wish Tim the best in his retirement to Florida — I’ve worked with him on multiple visits and he’s always been knowledgeable and straightforward. Still can’t recommend this shop enough.
These guys are great! Exceptional Service. Good and Honest people you can trust to service your car. They helped me out several times and were very accommodating, once I busted a tire in a hurry. I dropped off my key and left, they picked up my car (they also have a towing) and got my tires replaced at a very reasonable price. Very professional and full service shop with a friendly staff. Theses guys are always fantastic. My old car was leaking some sort of fluid and giving me multiple warning lights. I dropped it off Sunday night without an appointment as I wasn’t in a huge rush. By 10 am Monday they called to tell me it was ready. Just a simple gasket to replace and fluids to top off. They could have told me all sorts of serious things were wrong, and I would have known no difference. They even replaced the battery in my key fob as soon as they realized it wasn’t working. Always so friendly, helpful and trustworthy!
My husband and I have been clients of Poolesville Tire for many years. We always were confident in their assessments of whatever car service issues we brought to them. Tim and Matt and all the staff have always been knowledgeable, skilled, friendly and easy to talk with. They have always been willing to explain every aspect of what our cars have needed, and have given us sound advice. They have performed factory recommended maintenance, brake repair, tires, air conditioning service, key fob replacement and a variety of engine repairs.
Now that I am single, I know I am well taken care of when I give them my car. On this most recent visit, in addition to regular maintenance, such as an oil change and differential filters and fluid replacement, and rotating the tires, they replaced my cracked windshield, recalibrated the relevant sensors, and at my request checked the brakes. They are attentive to my concerns and questions and quick to offer whatever accommodations I may need: a loaner car, a ride home, etc. I know I can always count on the caring professionalism of Poolesville Tire to maintain or repair my car.
Needed two tire so I booked an 8 am appointment. I went in, was warmly greeted and within 10 minutes I was offered options and agreed on a set of tires that matched my needs and the mounted price was excellent.... especially considering some other prices I got close by. No upsell, no fuss, no mess.

Our Toyota Highlander needed a new water pump. The estimated price was surprisingly high. I called other shops, as I do for large jobs. These others quoted about the same price because, in this vehicle, it requires many hours of labor to move the engine to complete the job. I gave the job to Poolesville Tire & Auto. They completed it in fewer than the estimated hours and charged significantly less than the original estimate. I'm not sure the other shops would have done that.
I've been using Poolesville Tire and Auto for more than 15 years. They have serviced 11 vehicles for me including oil changes, new tires, body work etc.. I've never had a bad experience. They provide high quality, reliable service and they are very honest and ethical.
The service was very professional, customer friendly and good a price for a major truck repair.

I had lost the pendant of my necklace in my car and it had a lot of sentimental value and I went to them the morning after I lost it completely panic stricken and they were able to accommodate me the same day. They took the time to pull up the entire seat, pull up the carpet and found the pendant in the smallest hole underneath the tracks of the seat using a camera and grabbed it for me. I cannot describe in words how deeply grateful I am to them for everything they did and if that wasn’t already enough they didn’t even charge me for the service. I highly recommend them for all your automotive repair needs and I am definitely going to be using them for all my future repair needs
I've never left a negative review on a business before, but I've NEVER experienced anything this bad! BE VERY CAREFUL HERE! Easily the worst service, and most unprofessional business I've ever seen. I brought my overheating car in to be fixed. They identified the water pump as the problem, and then sold me on a new one. They installed it, and VERY SOON after I was back with the same problem. They refused to take responsibility for missing the original problem. They then charged me for the tow back to their shop!! They wanted to send it somewhere else, and then charge me again for the tow there!! The worst part was I mentioned that they'll be getting a negative review, and the main guy (maybe owner or manager) became unhinged and said I'd have "bigger problems". I then took my car 100 yards away to TOTAL AUTO. Cory was the exact opposite. He looked at it and diagnosed the actual problem within 18 hours. He was HONEST and PROFESSIONAL the whole time!
Amazing staff! FAST FRIENDLY RELIABLE. I am new to the area and was told to check them out because I needed a new light bulb for my motorcycle. They looked for the piece and as I went to pay for it, they said don't worry. Something so small made me come in again. The second time I brought my car to them. I asked them to check on a rattling sound coming from my engine as well as a coolant thermostat. I was very impressed by the quickness and ease they made my experience. I am grateful to them for just being amazing with their work as well as the customer service give. So friendly and professional. I will definitely come back for any of my future needs. Im glad to see how they are here and how the community comes together to support each other. Thank you!
I recently moved to the area and am so grateful to have found this gem. My first encounter was them saving me a costly repair by finding out I had 2 days left of a warranty.
