UPDATE: Another A+ service from Town and Country auto repair in Dayton, MD. My 2015 Jeep Cherokee needed major service in addition to a routine oil change and tire rotation. Knowing I needed the vehicle over the weekend, Randy, the manager on duty at Dayton, searched for MOPAR parts for the major engine repair that were available and reasonably priced. When the parts came in from the supplier, another employee, Pete, discovered that the parts delivered were incorrectly packaged and were for the wrong side of the engine. Pete, on his own initiative, then drove all the way to BelAir on Friday to get the correct MOPAR engine parts. Chris, the expert technician working on the car, came in on his day off (Saturday) to complete the repairs. Throughout this process, the team at Town and Country kept me regularly updated on the issues and checked in. I am grateful to the entire team for their dedication, integrity, and conscientious customer service. I will keep coming back.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: TRUSTWORTHY SERVICE FOR A BETTER PRICE. In 2021, I bought tires from competitor NTB in Columbia MD and had regular tire rotations with wheel balancing since then. On April 21, 2025, I went to NTB for my regular tire rotation and wheel balance. NTB said all the the lug nuts on the tires were so swollen that NTB didn’t have socket wrenches with the right fit to assure the lug nuts could be removed and reinstalled without severe damage. NTB insisted I needed all new lug nuts (with studs). Price quoted: $599. NTB insisted I needed new tires, too, because all the tires were dry rotted (tread was fine).
I decided to get a second opinion from Town & Country Auto Repair in Glenelg, MD, where I had had a major service performed in February 2025, about 1,400 miles before this tire rotation. The service included brake and tire inspections, and I was satisfied with the price and work performed.
Three days after my visit to NTB, Town & Country used correctly sized socket wrenches (size 20 and 21) to remove the lug nuts and rotate my tires with no issues. I obtained a price quote for all new lug nuts with studs from Town & Country: $160. Town & Country checked all tires and determined dry rot was minimal, tread good (5/32), and the tires should last until next year.
The quality of Town & Country’s auto service has been great. Even more so, it is the honesty displayed by the staff at the Glenelg branch that will make me a regular customer.
I had a great, first-time experience with my 2018 Toyota Highlander. The Town and Country Auto Repair team replaced a front ball joint and did a realignment for 1/3 the price that the Toyota Dealer Service Dept quoted. They took the time to look up the vehicle history for previous services done. The Team is super friendly, and they were collecting blankets to give to folks that need them this season. All-around great experience.
The first time they charged me $75 to repair my tire and it got leaky the same day afternoon. They repaired again and said it was glue issue and they fixed it. However, it only lasted for couple days then tire pressure went down and alert was on. It became a long term issue. The second time they did regular maintenance. Their invoices said tire rotation and tire leaky, but they did nothing. I went to this auto store because it is close to my living and good reviews. I am very disappointed with their service.

We've had great service from town and country for years. They've provided major and minor service for our cars and done a very thorough job at a reasonable price. They are honest - they never suggest repair or service unless it's really necessary. I left my car with them this morning to look for a fluid leak and they didn't charge me for the gasket they added to my oil plug.
Town and Country is a great place to get your vehicle running at maximum performance. They keep you informed about your vehicle and are very dedicated to their work. Quality work and reasonable prices.

Town and Country was able to find the root cause of my Toyota Matrix's acceleration issues. I was having a check engine light come on intermittently during the winter months and it was unclear what the issue was to at least three other auto shops, including the Toyota dealership, who tried replacing various components to no avail. Town and Country, however, did a thorough test drive, inspection, and research (including digging through online forums) to give me their best assessment of what the problem was. They ruled out what others could not and said they though the most likely scenario was a bad gasket, which ended up being spot on. Communication was good before, during, and after the appointment, including allowing me to drop off the vehicle the night before and get me in and out in less than a day. The price was fair and the car acceleration is back to normal / no more check engine light. I am so thankful for them breathing new life into my vehicle. Thanks Town and Country!

I just had my car serviced again at Town and Country Auto in Dayton. I say again because the service is always top notch and I love how honest they are and how reasonable they are. It keeps me coming back and referring them to other people I know. Bill is always such a pleasure and I love catching up with him when I go in. He explains everything very well and is VERY honest, which I appreciate very much!!! Mark Gap, the technician that worked on my car does a great job and he's quick but very, very thorough!! I can't recommend them enough. They are your one stop shop all around!!!! A MUST TRY!! They will be your place for life! I promise!
I just had an inspection done at T&C on one of my trucks. This was my first time at T&C and they have won me over. Pete and Adam went out of their way to assist me and were both very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend T&C. Five stars!
I’ve been taking my cars here for a few years now, and they’ve always been super great to deal with…incredibly friendly, honest, and fair. But today they went above and beyond when my daughter’s friend, who lost something in the deep recesses of her car, stopped there in desperation. Peter and team stopped what they were doing to help her out. They solved the situation and quite literally saved the day for her. It’s great to have such a friendly, family-oriented shop like them in our community.

Hands down the best experience from an auto mechanic ever! As someone who doesn’t know much about cars, Bill explained everything and prioritized repairs based on my budget. He never tried to push anything and I feel I had an honest assessment which resulted in immediate repairs vs. those I could wait a bit on. I am extremely happy to be driving a safe car again and the technician Jud did an excellent job on the repairs. Also wanted to mention Mark and Adam who were the first to assist me on a Friday evening. In short, run, don’t walk if you need superior service at a fair price! I won’t be going anywhere else!😊
Unfortunately, while my vehicle was at Town and Country getting an MD State inspection, my car was scratched. Since the day before I spent 10 hours polishing, I was 100% certain the scratch was new, and the vehicle had not been driven anywhere else. I let them know of the damage when I go home from picking up the car. They followed up with the inspector to see if he knew the damage. When they called me back the next day, they told me they were confident they did not damage it during the inspection, and perhaps it was damaged on their parking lot, which they do not cover. I was not given any other options to make it right, nor did they discount any of my fees. As I said on the phone, despite all their words, it sounds like I’m being told that I am SOL. They apologized and ended the call.
We chose this shop because of positive reviews. I was pleasantly impressed with the detailed report we received and the tech who followed up with us. At 112,000 miles our car is driving like a new car quiet and smooth. Prices were also better than dealership service with friendly and helpful techs. I hope not to have to return for major work but I know if I do I will be in knowledgeable hands. It’s been two days and so far everything is running good. Thank you for the attention to detail.
Great place to take your car! It's easy to set up an appointment and they always review the work or diagnostics to be done during drop off. We get a call to review the condition of things (always very honest) and to review/approve any suggested work. Pick up is always quick and easy, with the bill right at the estimated price given over the phone earlier. Staff are always friendly and happy to answer any questions or offer advice. I worked with both Kent and Steve on this visit and both were great. Nice to find an honest shop!

I was able to request an appointment via their website and they got back to me in a timely manner. They provided a loaner car for the day even though I was only getting an oil change. They have great documentation of their inspection and services done which they sent to me via text message.

Amazing place with the most helpful and honest employees I've ever met. I happened upon this shop when my car broke down during my 79 mile commute and I fully believe they did everything they could to make sure I got the best service at the lowest price. As an added benefit I got a courtesy email when they finished inspecting my car, which was nice because I could then read a detailed breakdown of each problem along with the recommended solution and urgency level. Even though they are over an hour from my house, I was so impressed with the service that I will never take my cars anywhere else for future work.
Before bringing my car in, I spoke with Pete on the phone and he provided great customer service and got me squared away. I dropped my car off with Bill and then dealt with both Bill and Pete throughout the swift, efficient, yet thorough process, and I was very pleased. They took care of me and communicated excellently. I'd heard great things about this auto repair and my expectations were met. Thanks again, will definitely use you guys in the future!
I have been taking my cars to Town & Country for close to ten years. They were great with my old car (traded in when it was 14 yrs old) telling me what it needed for safety and what I should not have done as it wasn't necessary. They have been equally wonderful with my new car. I will not take it to the dealership; all maintenance is done at Town and Country. I totally trust them, the service is great, prices are reasonable, and personnel friendly and competent. I highly recommend this shop to everyone.
