Google maps tried to take me in the exit so watch out for that. Other than that everything was as expected. $8/car load or $10/pickup truck load of household waste excluding chemical and e-waste.

My first time using the landfill since I moved to Harford county and I had a pleasant morning experience. Only had a few things to dump (vacuum, carpet shampooer, chair and side table) and paid 8.00 fee. The gentleman at kiosk before you enter was very helpful as well as the people at the cash kiosk.

There shouldn’t be a fee to dump household items and trash. $8 per visit is crazy.

Wow. I agree with some above posters that the woman working there seems to think she holds some magical key to FBI headquarters or something. Went to drop off a few boxes of garbage, but having moved to Hartford County recently, my license has yet to be updated with my new address. Right up the street! Knowing this I brought a recent car insurance bill addressed to my new house. That apparently was not enough as she put it "you could register a car anywhere." I politely asked if I could remove the items from my car today, and next time I'd bring an updated license or my lease agreement. Nope, had to turn around and drive back home with a car full of garbage. Nice work!

Extremely rude customer service would rather talk to you like an idiot instead of explaining to you how they operate Got there And sat for 10 minutes before I finally got assistance and they told me I was too late to dump after I was sitting on the scale for 10 minutes waiting for someone to give me the go ahead

Friendly staff and limited free compost and mulch (3 -30 gallon trash cans or equivalent bags) for Harford County residents. You need to show ID prove residency at the scale house. Mulch and compost loading areas are tight so when you back in stay to the side and don’t park in the middle of the loading area. This allows another resident access to load in the spot next to you. The compost is great and the mulch is okay. Bring a shovel for easier loading. The county will load 1 yard on your pickup for $10 which is a bargain and beats shoveling.

Nice, organized and plenty of room to move around. Depending on what day it is they are a little slow at times they will have dumpsters available for dumping but will only have 1 or 2 areas for you to back into so you can unload. Other than that the place is pretty nice and clean

I recently used Harford Sanitation Waste Disposal and was pleasantly surprised! Despite my initial hesitation due to some negative reviews, their staff exceeded my expectations with their kind hospitality and professional service. I spoke to at least seven people and all were nice while I dumped my trash. I was on edge because the bad reviews however they made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

Site says open today, loaded up and arrived to see CLOSED ! Enough employees someone should have updated the site. We weren't the only ones either. 10:30 am July 5th

I don’t understand these reviews. Every time I’ve been there the folks have been efficient. I’m not looking to make friends, I’m looking to dump. And they facilitate it. Long lines sometimes and the fees annoy me, but blame that on the county council.

Went here today, 02/07/2024 around 140/2pm. The woman working the booth where you pay and check in could have not been more rude and miserable. I honestly am shocked anyone would employ such a hateful, unhelpful person. Besides her the guys are usually friendly and helpful and the site is clean and easy to use/get around. If it wasn’t for her I’d probably give this place 4 stars but my interaction with her was so uncomfortable and bad I’m giving y’all 1. Please, please, have that horrific woman work where she does not have to interact with the public because honestly if I have to deal with her one more time I will not be coming back, I’ll go elsewhere even if it means more driving. That’s how rude, unhelpful and miserable she was. I am still in shock the way she treated me today. Truly deplorable and disgusting.

So dissatisfied the associate were rude and disrespectful as well as not helpful. This is the second time I have been there and needed assistance to unload items off my truck. The associate will not help they watched me struggle and got attitudes when I asked if they could assist me with a little help/support. Terrible customer service skills.

I was turned out just because the fact of not being a home owner. Had a truck load of cardboard and a small 8x6 roll of carpet and some baseboard pieces. Their statement was not casing a home owner and that was construction materials. Been doing trash runs all the time and this is the first time they turn me around the guy at the window was really hostile I called the office and the senior operation manager when spoke whit me kept telling me that the land lord has to be the one to stop by and dump the trash. Even that I am a HFC resident they also asked me for my name so I can’t no longer been able to bring any more trash.

CLOSES @ 2:45 NOT 3pm. They turn off their computers at 2:45 so if there are zero people in line and you get there at 2:47 you can’t get in because they are “closed.” I’ve never seen a business that “states” they close at 3pm but actually stop accepting customers at 2:45 or earlier. As a customer I’m not interested in what time employees clock out. What I need to know, so I can plan my day, is when do you stop accepting customers?!? If I can’t get in after 2:45pm then you close at 2:45pm NOT 3pm.

I get anxiety when i have to go to this place. The guy Mark that is in the office needs to be put in a tractor where his lack of customer service skills don’t have to be dealt with by customers! Sad the tax payers of Harford county have to jump through hoops and be treated badly. Just pay to go to Baltimore!

Absolutely terrible. I hate going there even more than DMV. I’d give it a lower score if I could. In order to keep cars from getting backed up on Scarborough rd they snake people all over the landfill and have people flagging cars around. The guys working there try to act like state troopers trying to catch you doing something. If you need help lifting something nobody offers to help even though there’s guys standing around. If there’s a backup you’d think they would help people unload to get them out of there faster. Good luck! Glad to see my taxes are being spent well.

We had a really bad experience here trying to dump a futon and a few other odds and ends. Pulling in, we were asked about what we had, the lady clearly told us that since the futon was metal - it had to go to the metals pile. We pulled up to empty the rest of the odds and ends and asked for assistance to back in since the spots were tight. The lady agreed, and then walked off before we even started backing up without telling us anything. We emptied our uhaul (aside from the futon) and asked AGAIN to confirm that it should go with the metals - the answer once again was yes. We pulled to the metals and were stopped as soon as we took the futon out, we were told it has to go in the trash. The attendant called on the walkie and the lady looked at us and bluntly said that she never told us to take it to the metals. We had to drag it back into the uhal and pulled back to the trash where we were rudely told that we’re “backing everyone up” (we didn’t have much to dump so we were there for MAYBE 10 min) even though the attendant was the one who told us the incorrect information. I understand that accidents and miscommunications happen, but the way it was handled was absolutely rude and uncalled for.

A very hot day yet everyone encountered was helpful and kind! A very well run operation, easy to use, and much better than paying someone else to pick up my trash ... and do that poorly! Harford County is the place to live.

The site is very clean and kept organized however I'm personally very irritated, I have to drive 35 min to get to Scarborough unload my trailer into their dumpsters just to have it hauled back by my house to be dumped into Baltimore County's landfill that I can literally see from my back yard at days cove. I am less then a mile across the Harford County line and no one will give me a voucher unless I'm making another trip then they will give me one good for only one day. I have various other complaints but I'm done for now.

Best vacation I've had in a year! Lots of fun things to do for adults and kids over the age of 11! Friendly staff, parking was ample and the best part was it was only 7 bones to get in for my little truck!

Service is great but the lines are very long. You just have to be patient and wait. Because the road is small they do a great job having flag personnel to direct the traffic. If you are older, I highly recommend stopping to use the bathroom before getting there. Again, the lines are long.

The men and women at the HWDC are absolute professional. They manage a high custoner demand and the traffic very well. Its always clean and organized in the customer areas. The only reason for 4 stars is the wait on busy weekends.

We just bought an older home and are in the process of remodeling, room by room. We come here just about every other weekend and it is always a pleasant experience. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help unload our truck/trailer. Even on the busiest days they are very organized and helpful. For being a dump it is very tidy and well kept. Keep up the great work!

My family and friends have been using these facilities for the last 5 years, and have always had friendly service. People are quick to help one another if they see that their fellow person needs help. Great community here. Have always gotten a "thank you" and smiles from the staff.

I've been there 4 times and turned away 2. If you have an enclosed trailer they want to charge you big bucks and make you go across the scale even if it's a 4x8 trailer. Last time it cost me 78 bucks. I get there 2 hrs before or they will find a reason to tell you why you can't dump. I've never met such miserable people that just stand around.
