These guys were very kind. Today when I showed up for the first time they were giving away hotdogs for free as a part of customer loyalty. Despite it being my first time there they still gave me a few.
I'm happy to return there again for the next time I need something scrapped.
They changed my weigh in down by 700lbs and deducted 300lbs for a small amount of fabric and cardboard. I picked out the pieces and made them look up the weight on camera. They adjusted the weight back up 1,000lbs after I complained. I feel like they were intentionally trying to keep the money. They seem to be criminals. The payout price was also $1/100lbs less then reliable recycling next door. I would highly recommend not ever using this scrap yard and i will never go back. Worst scrap yard I've ever been to
I had a disappointing experience with Frederick Scrap, Inc. I spent a significant amount of time and effort breaking down an old heat pump unit to separate the valuable materials—copper, aluminum, and steel—only to have them ring it up as sheet iron! When I arrived, I asked where I should take my heat pump unit. The staff gave me the wrong directions, I was directed to go over the scale, wait for the go ahead and drop off the material at a dump area where a machine was picking up the scrap and placing it in a pile.
When I was rang up and paid, I noticed that the only commodity listed was sheet iron and I was paid $19 for it. I noticed the pricing for copper, etc... was much higher so I questioned it. I was told that I made a mistake and I should have taken it to a different area for processing. I was told that I could try to go back if they haven't picked up my materials already, but they picked up all my material and dumped it in their pile before I even pulled back to the scale! I had pounds of copper, aluminum, and steel that would have amounted to much more then I was paid...
Instead of being compensated fairly for the materials I meticulously separated, I was short-changed, which was incredibly frustrating. The customer service was poor from start to finish, and it felt like they didn’t care about providing accurate information or fair pricing. I won’t be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a trustworthy scrap yard.
Had 220 pound of alum extrusion an got $.25 p pd. was not buying alum cans at time so sent me to reliable recycling centers less than a half mile away an they were paying $.65 per pd for aluminum extrusion a difference of $88, in a time of epidemic that is just wrong!
I took in some old broken riding mowers, and I got paid for it, instead of paying to get rid of it. The people there were VERY nice and polite. Will be going back for whatever my scrap needs.
First time I went to this place, wooow that was a great experience, I will recommend to anyone. Very clean, good people to work on it. Thank you for it .
Very clean yard. Nice friendly people! I prefer this yard over any of the surrounding scrap yards. Quick and easy service.and very helpful with unloading!
friendly and polite ladies in the office and the fellas outside are also friendly... just wish i wouldn't get a dang flat everything i come in, i know enter at own risk....
