The worst experience ever. Brian is a very rude and entitled individual. I brought my car to be serviced.I was told to bring it on a Monday. The guy who took the car apparently his worker didn’t even tell him I had brought my car till I called after not hearing from them for some days and he said he will take care of it but 4 days later he still didn’t service it.He sat on my car for 1 week 3 days. Finally picked it up and still he did not service it. Every time we have kept our car with him he has kept it for 2 weeks plus. No call or update and when u try to call he tries to get you off the phone and what is crazy is he thinks it’s okay. I hope u do better. I hope you treat people right
FYI I hope the least you can do is give us the check for the ticket we got that u didn’t tell us about from parking our car on the street. Or u can keep it but know in life what goes around comes around. The way u have treated us (we have been nothing but kind, respectful and understanding )Someone else will treat u same
I’ve been bringing my car’s to Skips Auto for a couple of months now. Again was extremely impressed with the level of service. They always communicate throughout the entire process make sure they fix any problem with my car’s the pricing is absolutely fair they are very transparent with anything, They will get the job done for sure.I highly recommend Skips Auto Shop to anyone!!
Always amazing. I usually do alot of my own maintenance on my vehicles but when it comes down to work cant do, skips is the only ones I trust to do the work.
Skip’s fixed my wife’s 08 Nissan Pathfinder recently and did a great job. I understand they’re very busy and had it a couple of weeks but they went above and beyond and fixed some things for free that we didn’t even ask them to do. They didn’t charge very much for the tow compared to what others would have. We highly recommend them and will use them again.

I want to take a moment to publicly thank Skip’s Auto for their incredible service and professionalism. I’ll be honest—I absolutely despise taking my car to mechanics. In the past, I’ve had more bad experiences than good, often leaving frustrated or even worse off than when I started. Because of that, I usually try to fix things myself.
But this time, I needed help, and Skip’s came highly recommended. From the moment I walked in, they treated me with respect and took my concerns seriously. They didn’t dismiss me or assume I didn’t know what I was talking about. When they couldn’t hear the noise I was describing after driving it about 30 miles, they even offered to go on a ride with me until they did—something most other shops wouldn’t have bothered with.
They replaced my front axle, rear left wheel bearing, brakes, battery, and tires, and weeks later, my car is still running perfectly. As a single mom, finances are always tight, and they worked with me in a way that made me feel valued and not just like another transaction.
If you have anxiety about mechanics and auto shops like I do, I highly recommend Skip’s Auto. They were kind, understanding, and always got me right in. Thank you again for changing my perspective on auto shops—you guys are awesome!
Brian went above and beyond to repair my car and ease my anxiety as I always think the worst. He responded to all of my questions and kept me updated. He was honest and fair and really the kindest person I’ve ever met. I will certainly use Skips for any of my car needs and refer anyone who ever asks where to go for car repairs or maintenance. I can't really rate them according to the work they do because they had my car for 3 weeks and did nothing to it. They didn't even call with updates. I had to keep contacting them for updates and it was one excuse after another. It was even difficult to get them to answer the phone. I had to end up going in person to check on the car. One window was left cracked open and the inside of the car was very damp and even wet. There had been lots of rain. I finally just brought the car home after 3 weeks and lots of excuses. They were highly recommended, so I wish I was able to evaluate their expertise at repairs, but I guess it was not meant to be. Maybe they had taken in more work than they were able to perform. If they had just communicated that to me things may have been different. Even an apology would go a long way to raise the star from 1 to at least 3.
Took my 2014 escape in to get serviced and they did a great job! Only downside was it took a while to get done but wasn't their faults, a lot of the parts were hard to find and a lot of work needed to be done. All in all would recommend them to anyone inf Frederick!
2/2 great experiences at Skip's! The staff is friendly and polite, the work is very reasonably priced and the overall experiences seriously minimized the stress I would typically feel when addressing car issues. So thankful and won't go anywhere else!
Called to have brakes/rotors done and was able to get in and out in the same day very quickly, compared to other shops. I found Skip's on Facebook and I am so glad I did, after calling around, Skip's had the best price in town, hands down! I will definitely be a life long customer goung forward and I have already started referring family and friends!
Skip's is the only place I TRUST to take my car to for service! No upsell or smoke and mirrors! Their honest and most affordable! I don't like to leave bad reviews but check this out....I just talk to a very kind gentleman he quoted $445.00 labor to replace front rotors and brake pads on my 2008 Beetle (that is me bringing in all parts needed). I asked for some help with the bill and he passed me to the owner who added 200 more dollars to flush the brakes wich I did not asked for, and just wanted to hang up on me. I am still in shock, nice place!
Again another big hit for this tem of mechanics. Rear axle, front control arms, shocks all the way around and full alignment with oversized tires. Great job guys!
Skips Auto Repair is great! They are very professional, reliable, trustworthy, and they don't take advantage of you. I have dealt with them for many years now and have referred many people to them who have also been very satisfied with their services. I would never take my car to anyone else and I would highly recommend Skips to anyone!

Skips is hands downs the best Auto Repair Shop I’ve used in my 47 (holy moly… I must be old!) years of driving. Single most honest and fair shop in Frederick.
They have replaced my brakes, battery and done other work on my older Toyota. Always on time with great service.
Had a great experience here when we ran over a nail in town and needed a tire replacement quickly. Skip took care of us in less than two hours and we were on our way; very reasonable prices. He even replaced the battery in my failing key fob for free! What service! Highly recommend!

I was recommend by a friend to Skip’s Auto repair. I was told that they are honest and their prices were reasonable. My friend was absolutely correct. I Had them look at my car because it made a rattling noise and I wanted them to check my brakes. They fix my car and told me that my brakes are only at 50%. The price were way less than what I expected. I definitely recommend them and I will use them from now on.
In terms of auto-repair, the people at Skip's are the best I've ever encountered.
I live an hour from work, and my cars get lots of miles. In my many hours of commuting, I've often considered moving closer to work. But then I remember that I'd have to find a new car mechanic! I'm not joking; I've run through this thought process multiple times. Skip's keeps me in Frederick.
I've been going to Skip's for over a decade. One of the first times I went--for a broken air conditioning unit--Skip's turned my business away because they noticed my car was still under warranty with Hyundai. Skip's even called the local dealership to make sure they'd fix it for free! Sure enough, I took it to the dealership and saved about $700.
There have been other times over the years when Brian has delivered my repaired car to my home just as a favor to me. I live about 20 minutes from their location, so this is a big deal; that's at least a 40-minute favor when you factor in the round-trip.
Whenever I do have to go to the dealership, say for a recall service, and the dealership provides a laundry list of repairs that theoretically must be done, I take the list to Skip's, and they tell me what I actually need done. It's usually little, if anything.
Another time, after I took the car into Skip's, a repair needed to be adjusted a few months later. They did it for free.
On another vehicle, Skip's replaced my air conditioner. About a year later, I was having issues with it. They replaced the whole unit for free.
To find an honest mechanic, as well as one as friendly and patient as Skip's, is a true blessing. I hope these guys get so much business that they open another location--maybe closer to where I work. Then I could move there!
Skip’s is the best! Their prices are fair and they will work with you on options to repair instead of replace. I have had 2 experiences with them, and Brian is the BEST!!! He will take good care of you. They are slammed, so please be patient with them! But I wouldn’t trust anyone else! Great prices, great service, and great results!!!
These guys are great!!! Awesome customer service and up front descriptions on the issues with my vehicle. Never tried to up-sell me. Brian and the crew were 100% professional, extremely knowledgeable and made sure I understood what was going on. Pricing is very fair. All around great experience. Everyone I interacted with had a great attitude and very professional. Will be using Skip's Auto Repair for any work i need for my vehicles from now on.

Skip’s goes way above and beyond every time. More than once my car has had unexpected issues beyond the repair I expected and they put in numerous hours beyond what was quoted and charged in order to diagnose and repair the real issue. They are super transparent about anticipated costs and what repair is required/recommended and why. I truly cannot recommend them highly enough. Every time I have mentioned them to someone who has also been there, they also rave about how awesome they are. THEY ARE THE BEST!
Skips was recommended to me by several people so I contacted them. I wanted a reasonably priced place to go for brakes. Not only did they fit me in last minute, Brian was very friendly and professional, explained everything to me that was actually wrong with my rear brakes (which was a rare issue) and didn’t make me feel stupid, as most mechanics would when dealing with a female. I will definitely be returning there. Amazing customer service and work.
