I had a great experience with Nelcars Auto. They were efficient, thorough, and took care of the issue without wasting time. Communication was solid from start to finish, and I always knew what was going on. It’s hard to find a place you can trust, but I’ve found my regular auto shop. Highly, recommend.
So thankful I’m able to take my car here. The work is fast and affordable, my technician Nikita explains everything and shows me exactly what the problems are. I never feel like I’m getting taken advantage of like I do at other places. They even save your old car fluids to show you what needs work and when, it’s very helpful. Highly recommend!
The team at Nelcars definitely went the extra mile for us! Our situation was a breakdown on the highway on the way to drop our daughter off at college. The car was towed to Nelcars, and we were obviously worried about dealing with an unfamiliar mechanic hours from home. They treated us like family and even worked a little extra time after hours to make sure we were back on the road again the next day. It didn’t seem like a big deal to them, so I’m sure this is just how they work!
What a difference from taking my car to the dealership for service. What a great team to work with instead of the corporate mentality. They are truly partners in maintaining my vehicle and their use of Carfax is greatly appreciated as is the list of suggested future service needed along with estimates and projected mileage recommendations. Not to mention the location is ideal in the heart of Buckeystown.

I brought my car in for a routine oil change and tire rotation. During the visit, they broke a lug nut and damaged the wheel hub, but didn’t want to take responsibility for it. I moved on, trusting that the service itself had been done properly.
Later, the car began experiencing serious issues. I ended up having to replace both the alternator and the battery — damage that turned out to be the result of the engine having no oil. The oil light never came on because it had been reset, and I was still about 1,000 miles away from even being due for the next oil change.
It wasn’t until the engine completely failed that we opened it up and discovered just how extensive the damage was. At this point, it’s unclear whether the car can even be saved. All of this could have been prevented if the oil change had actually been done right the first time.
This has been a deeply frustrating experience. I trusted this shop to handle basic maintenance — and now I’m left dealing with the potential loss of my vehicle because that trust was misplaced.

Thank you for your reply. However, I want to clarify that at no point during my visit was I warned about engine damage or metal shavings. The only issue discussed with me was the damage done to my wheel hub, which occurred during the tire rotation. No one brought up any internal engine concerns, nor was I advised that my vehicle was already in poor condition.
I always make it a point during any visit to mention that I commute regularly and need to ensure everything is running properly. When I scheduled this appointment, I was told a diagnostic and overall inspection would be done as part of the service. I relied on that assurance.
I trusted that a proper oil change had been done and was still nearly 1,000 miles away from the next scheduled service when the car began to fail. The oil light never came on because it had been reset.
I’m disappointed to see this situation being reframed as preexisting damage when none of these warnings were ever communicated to me at the time. If they had been, I would have taken immediate action.
I have nothing bad to say about Nelcars. I thought my brakes were worse than they were. They diagnosed the issue, told me what services I could hold off on, and fixed the issue same day. Because of their honesty they gained a permanent customer and anyone i know that needs work done, im sending them to Nelcars.
Everyone was incredibly nice and professional. They let me know ahead of time it was going to take a long time to get parts in. Every time I called for updates they let me know what was happening and a time frame.
They were so incredibly patient with all my questions. I highly recommend them.
If I could give Lauren and Julie a 6/5 stars I would! It is so easy to be overlooked as a female bringing your vehicle in for ANYTHING and having both of them has been an amazing experience!
Went in with the expectation of my car being fixed. Engine is shaking, and they did NOT replace the water pump gasket on my 2014 Range Rover Sport Supercharged. I spent over $4000 and still owe them 460$. I wonder IF That’s the reason he said he wouldn’t drive it! Due to not replacing the gasket that I was charges for. Seeing you Monday with intent and purpose.
Although small please do not discount this mechanic shop. The staff are wonderful. Sebastian called me and went over everything and even gave me options regarding which way we were to proceed depending on how much I wanted to spend on my car. They are not interested in jacking up prices and making up stuff in order to charge you a lot of money. They are straight forward and honest. They fixed my car and saved me a lot of money. Glad our local community has them to rely on.
I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the people who run this shop. I was looking for a place to get my Mercedes repaired and found this shop by a Google search. I am so glad I found them. Brian, one of the two brothers who run the shop did the diagnostics, explained to me concisely what needs to be done, gave me an estimate (a reasonable one) and repaired the car. In addition to the repair, he was kind enough to clean the engine housing as well. I was so pleased with the experience and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them highly for your automotive repair needs on domestic or foreign vehicles.

Highly recommend this shop. They were able to fix my issue, work with insurance to have most of it covered, and we're completely transparent about costs up front. My car was fixed quickly, and the communication here is excellent.
I have an old car, a 2002 Honda Civic. I took it in for an oil change, and appreciated being told that it would be taken out for a test drive and given an inspection. When they were done, any issues were fully explained, all of my questions were answered and I received a printed copy of what was done and what is recommended. Nelcars is incredible. Highly recommend!
Very pleased with the amount of effort invested in solving the issue. I would have given 5 stars except I was surprised by the $21 fee for using a credit card. If you are charging customers $100's of dollars for repairs you should expect that they would pay with a credit card. I was a new customer and this wasn't disclosed. I don't remember seeing a sign but can't swear that there isn't one. Build the costs into your fees and avoid losing customers over it.
Took my car in for an inspection since I purchased out of state. Staff was extremely friendly and prices were good compared to other places I've gone to in the past. Will definitely be going back for future services

I took my car here thinking I needed 4 new brake pads and possibly serious suspension work.
They took a look, determined I just had brake dust causing a squealing noise and the suspension issue was just caused by a slightly lose bolt. They test drove it, ensured it was all set, and only charged me a half an hour of labor for everything.
These are honest, reliable, and excellent mechanics. They’ve worked on my family’s’ vehicles for years and have always been solid.

I highly recommend Nelcars! Our older BMW died nearby and although we had heard good things about Nelcars, we had never used their services. Not only did they repair the touchy BMW, but they also helped push it across the road to their shop! The repair came in under the estimate and they did the work promptly and efficiently.
