I used to get my tree every year at Clemsonville Christmas Tree Farm when I lived near Frederick, MD. Then I retired and moved to SC (Clemson area) i loved the price. I really enjoyed the barn, with great inexpensive Christmas antiques to buy. "Santa" would sleep in a big bed and snore loudly. Sometimes a cat would sleep next to him.
Based on the previous reviews, it does seem like maybe they’re not replanting. We went 12/7, and there wasn’t a whole lot left so I recommend going early if you go next year! We did find a thick tree that we cut ourselves and felt it was a good deal compared to what real trees are going for nowadays. TBD on how it lasts but not too long til Christmas :) Everyone we interacted with was very sweet. Cash or check only. They do offer precut trees with stands included for more $ as well.
My wife’s family got trees there this year. You couldn’t beat the price. But I know why now. We could find a tree over 5’ 5”. I think we all were worn out and still bought tiny trees. Between the families, we left with 4 maybe 5 trees.
Our tree, well watered, died right away. The needles were falling off like maybe it was diseased. My brother in law - same thing with his tree.
So we can’t go back to this place. We didn’t save much money. And we had to borrow a friend’s fake tree to make it till Christmas.
I feel bad leaving this review as the people were nice, but this is just not a great place to find a Christmas tree anymore.
We drove an hour to get there. There is nothing but scrub here. No viable trees. Don't waste your time. Farm hasn't been replanted for years. Maybe a decade. Farce.
We loved our experience here! We called ahead because we knew about the tree shortage and it was the weekend before Christmas, but we were really keen on a cut-your-own. The owner was really up front with us about their modest tree selection this year, but we weren’t in the market for a huge or perfect tree (plus he mentioned they were dog friendly) so we gave it a shot! It was super fun adventuring around the farm trying to find a tree with the pup. We ended up finding a cute stubby little spruce and the owner (who was so informative and helpful) even threw in some free rope for the car and extra candles for free! If you’re looking for a picture-perfect tree, this may not be the place, but if you’re good with affordable prices, a charming farm, and the nicest people, then I’d give this place a shot.
A bit of false advertising. We called ahead to be sure they still had a supply given the circumstances this year and were assured people were still finding nice trees. When we arrived, we were told to drive through the forest and would find some nice Douglas Firs. We never found any. Only emaciated, overgrown leftovers from past years. Very strange. After going back to the shack to be sure we were in the correct place, we were assured again that there were trees out there. We left without a tree. Waste of our time.
Very Friendly folks there. I took my son here to get a tree, the selection wasn't particularly great, but we enjoyed the free roaming permitted on the fields and cutting down our own tree.
It was hard to find anywhere with pick and cut trees still available, and they charge 1 flat fee, which was very fair.
We went during the week since they are open seven days a week, such a wonderful experience. The family who runs it is very kind and was very helpful. They also have the coolest display inside the barn where Santa is sleeping. A huge area to pick trees from and very reasonably priced! I will be going back here every year!
I have officially been going to Clemsonville Christmas tree farm every year since 2007, the elderly gentleman is a sweet nice guy, lots of trees to choose from. He has wreaths,trees and Santa sleeps in the barn (which my boys love) and you can leave Santa a letter. And all trees are one price no matter how big or small.if I could give a 10 star rating I would.
