We've had a few experiences here now, and they've restored our faith in a good mechanics shop that wants to help you and work with your financial strains to keep your auto working well and safe. Courteous, understanding, no pink tax type mentality apparent, and no brutal attempts at tacking on extras or services that your auto doesn't /need/. We're definitely going to keep coming back here. Did a $1000 repair without authorization or estimate, which is illegal under the Consumer Protection Act. When confronted they did not offer any discount or payment plan or anything. We will be pursuing legal action.
Garbers is a family owned car repair business that has been in New Windsor a long time. They're knowledgeable and fair. They definitely take their time to ensure you understand what is being performed on your vehicle. I appreciate having them so close by and they do good work.
Took my truck in due to a bad shake in the front. Quickly diagnosed and repaired at a much lower cost than im used to from repair shops. Highly recommend and will definitely use again.
This company provides service from a different time. I don’t know how else to describe it. You can trust them implicitly to do what is needed, they will bill you a fair price, and will always communicate well. I have been dealing with them For close to three decades and I can’t imagine using someone else.
Once again Garbers hits it out of the park. We love having a great repair shop in our little town. It is really hard to find a shop that you can trust. This is That place. One always hears of that local business that takes great care of their local towns people, is fair and honest, does great work and doesn’t gouge it’s clients on price. They are the small businesses you just want to go out of your way to support. For us, Garbers Automotive is that small town business. We HIGHLY recommend them. We’ve had work done on all of our cars here and even paid to repair a few of our staff’s cars here too. Though we are not technically locals - we happily go out of our way to do business here. Again, We highly recommend.
Always a great experience. I've been taking my cars there for several years and have never been disappointed. Honest, competent service at a fair price. Went in recently for what I was afraid was going to be a major repair and the bill came to under $100 (even though they knew I was prepared to pay more if the car needed it). I wouldn't consider going anywhere else.
I worked with Garber to have new tires and brakes installed on my 2013 Mazda CX-5.
Had a great experience, the work was completed on schedule without any problems. Price was in line with what was quoted and there were no surprises. Car was returned clean, free of damage and worked/drove like new!

I love Garber's Automotive. The owner Clark is honest and very reasonable in the cost of whatever mechanical work I have needed done. I have had quotes for work to be done on my car at other automotive places and Garber's is always quality work at a reasonable cost. I feel the mechanics are thorough and do not try to fix anything that does not need to be fixed to increase the cost of my bill. I know that I know nothing about cars, but I never feel taken advantage of because of my lack of knowledge. I very highly recommend Garber's, I am sure your experience will be like mine.
