This is the only scrap metal dealer I have been to and it's an interesting experience. I suppose as a tradesperson you are used to this type of environment with sealed doors and windows and small money slots with bullet proof glass and someone behind them you can barely see - kinda like the Wizard of Oz. To a regular homeowner it's a bit unusual. That said, everything went well and the transaction was handled promptly for what I had to drop off.
My original review was 5 stars, but after using this place for years I've come to realize I've been getting ripped off. They have good customer service but thats only because theyre ripping you off. Ive been told every time in recent visit through 2025 that my red brass, ball valves, have to be designated as irony brass due to chrome plated brass ball inside. Not once had I been given red brass prices for the red brass that I bring in even though red brass is significantly higher in copper concentration. I have also had multiple other items miscategorized, weights seemingly off, and tares for buckets and containers higher than what they actually are.
I dropped off some metal today. I cleaned all the metal to make sure there were no other metals mixed in with the original metal. They quoted me 18 cents per pound for aluminum, 9 cents per pound for stainless steel, and 1.32 cents per pound for bronze. The employee wrote that all my metal contained iron. There wasn't a single gram of iron in it. I do not recommend this scrap metal yard. The employees are scammers, and the whole place is a scam. I lost $50 today. I will never use this place again, and I advise others to avoid it too.
Todd and Juan were a big help on a busy Saturday. I brought in a big load of aluminum wire and extrusions. Todd gave me some tips to remove some of the rubber gaskets and such in order to get more money out of my load. They also provided the necessary equipment to help me load the wire in the box before it was weighed. I will always take my scrap to Carroll!
One of the young guys working there said they were closed even though the gates were opened, we were were in line and it was before the time stated that they were closing. Our trucks were all loaded up and he wouldn't take our material, so we went elsewhere.
Granted it’s not recent, but few years ago i took there 3 pickup loads of aluminum, all within 1.5hr span, i live a mile from the place, they definitely playing with scales there, there is no way that out of 3 loads 2 were identical weight and 1 load was 20lb heavier, it was different material and would be impossible to load them with same weight 3 times without scale.
It sucks place is shady, it’s close and convenient but ive been taking my scatp somewhere else, writing this now since i got dump trailer full of aluminum sheeting and was looking for a place, since the one i was going to for years in owings mills closed down
First time recycling metal and had an easy, fast, and great time here. The staff are friendly and answer any questions you may have over the phone and in person. Their prices are fair and they pay in cash. Definitely will be coming here again!
Been coming here for years, clean yard, good help, great with a big trailer. Only trouble is that I have been calling the office everyday for a week straight and no answer. I just have a question about several items I’d like to bring. But, if they don’t pick up the phone I’ll have to go elsewhere unfortunately.
Been going to CCS for years as a Company who has scrap alum. Granted, years ago tue money was in Alum. , now, not so much...but tue company that runs CCS is fair and has fair prices based on daily metal prices. People are always friendly, never an issue...as i am a regular. Only issue is when i have 12v 7 2 amp batts and you charge me for "automotive batts"... used to charge by weight, not type".. is what it is.. still pleased with their professionalism... thanks all (Acorn Stairlifts)

The money/classification is a little light. I turned in a bunch of welding cable that was 90% pure copper and they gave me insulated wire rates for it. I mean, yeah its insulated, but it's not the same ratio of copper to plastic as lamp cord. Not even close.
In any event, the operation is fast and efficient, and it beats taking metal to the landfill for nothing.
I was in the gate before 12:30 told the woman behide the counter I had steel copper aluminum and brass. When I got back up to the front it was 12:33 she said the closed at 12:30. I will never go back there again
I've just gotten into scrapping for extra money and the people at Carroll scrap are so nice. The man that helped me was Don Marsh, I made sure I got his name. He was very friendly and helpful. My daughter and I will be back and what a nice payout :-)
I went to Carroll Scrap for the first time as I'm new to scrapping. The guy behind the window was very nice and treated me like I had been dealing with them for years. Very nice group of gents who treat females with great respect. I even met another guy up there who was so friendly you'd think he was my brother! I go here for my steel.
