$600 quote to add AC dye and refrigerant for 2017 Accord😡. Was told the refrigerant was $320 balance was labor. Had to have my Certified Mechanic God Father charge AC for me after the shock of estimated repair. Refrigerant cost $40.00 for 1lb of refrigerant. Very disappointed, my God Father had recommended Arts but over the last year or so they have changed, our family and friends don’t trust them anymore!!!

Left 1 tractor tire with them for a week to get a tube changed and followed up to have the front desk tell me that they were to busy to change 1 tube in a week certainly wouldn’t rely on them for a timely turn around on a bigger job by any means

Overpriced, dishonest and shoddy work! Had 4 tires installed. They lied about checking the alignment. Lugnuts were not torqued. One was very loose. The car interior with FILTHY inside. Black handprints everywhere! I will never go back! EDIT: Previously Paid 750+ to replace a cheap 89 dollar starter! 1000+ for a radiator!!

I love Art's Automotive! I took my 2022 Rav 4 to Bowie Toyota for an oil change because I get free service on my vehicle. I was informed that I was not due for an oil change because they only do it every 10,000 miles, but since I was there I could get a free tire rotation. After waiting 2 hours they informed me that I needed an alignment and service to my air conditioner. I did not believe this was true so I refused the service. I came home and made an appointment with Art's Automotive for the following week, even though it is further from my home, I had been to them before and always treated honestly and fairly. I got my oil change, they checked everything on my car and found nothing wrong at all. Kris showed me the alignment paperwork and it was all fine, something Toyota did not do. He said I had a leaf on the air conditioner filter which he just took off. I will never go anywhere else for my car maintenance and service, I will definitely not go back to Toyota of Bowie.

Been coming here for years and they always take care of us. Kris and Mercedes run this place so smoothly. The guys in the shop are knowledgeable and quick. Art’s Automotive Service Center has gained a loyal customer! I appreciate the owner Chris and Mercedes for always taking care of my mechanical needs. I can assure you that this body shop will take care of you and not try to get over. Also, shoutout to the auto-mechanic Jay! I had a sensor on my dash no one could seem to repair… he went the extra mile to find the solution for my model vehicle and repaired it with no problem. Thank you all for excellent customer service.

A great group of folks, I am pleased to have my Outback serviced there. They have twice now come in on target, on time, and as described -- No upselling or games, just straightforward and competent repairs. In fact, they are more likely to talk me out of a certain service if they consider it unnecessary. Thanks!

BE WARNED!!! I went in for an inspection where they found a list of things that needed work, I was charged 100 in parts for a battery tie down, when I looked at home there was my original setup with a 2x4 wedged in the bottom of my battery. On top of that there is radiator fluid in my engine bay as they didn’t put the cap on. I also requested an alignment to be done multiple times and when I went to pickup the car that was also not done

As a charter boat captain, I was trailering my boat down to Chesapeake Beach and unfortunately had a valve stem go bad on my truck. It is 3 o’clock on the day before Thanksgiving, and the guys at arts jumped to take care of me so I wouldn’t be left stranded. They didn’t bat an eye about taking care of me. If that’s not customer service then I don’t know what it is. They are certainly good people in my book.

I've been working with these guys for a couple months now to have an engine replaced in my F-150. It's an ecoboost engine that has been on backorder throughout the country for many months now. They managed to find me one. The customer service has been impeccable. This is not an easy undertaking by any means but they've grabbed the horse by the reins so to speak. I highly recommend talking to Chris and having your vehicle serviced here. The team seems in tune with one another and will be straight to the point with what needs to be done. No BS here. Highly recommend!

I found Arts Auto on recommendation of my parents who have been using them for quite some time. I was at a local Toyota dealer and decided to get a second opinion from these guys. I decided to get my brakes replaced with Arts and could not be more impressed with the quality of both the service completed and the folks at the front desk. Chris, one of the managers was incredibly transparent and honest and that’s something that seems to be increasing in rarity. 10/10 for Arts!

While in from out of state, we had an issue with our tire. If it weren't for Chris discovering it, we could've been stranded, injured or worse during the long drive back north to Massachusetts. New tires were ordered at the last minute before closing Wednesday evening and Thursday we got a call first thing to tell us when they expected the tires to be delivered. An issue out of their hands arose causing the truck to be delayed but they kept us updated as they knew we had planned to leave town early that morning in attempt to beat a bad storm. When the tires arrived they called us and once we got the vehicle to them they started work immediately. They even put two employees to work on it to get it done for us even sooner. We ate lunch while waiting and by the time we came back it was ready and we were on our way. Everyone was extremely caring, kind and generous. Our safety was clearly a priority. Everyone at Art's went above and beyond and we are so grateful to them for the fact that we are safe at home tonight. I really wish we lived near Art's Automotive so we could go there for all our vehicle needs.

I was very pleased with the service they provided! I was having a hard time finding somewhere that could install tires for me and Art’s was able to get me an appointment setup fast. They did a great job installing my tires and doing a all wheel alignment. I would recommend their friendly and fast service!

Brought my blazer in for an alignment and was told there was several worn parts that needed replaced. The shop manager Kris could tell I was a bit apprehensive about these "worn parts" so he brought me over to show me all the parts that was wiggling and about to fall apart. I am very appreciative of this for fear of being ripped off by other shops in the past. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone. Yeah I ended paying a lot more than I originally thought I would but now I know my family and vehicle are safe.

I brought my personal vehicle in for tire rotation and check out an occasional "clunk" from the front end. They had my truck for a whole day, charged me $100.00 for an incorrect diagnosis and never rotated my tires. I took my truck elsewhere to have the "clunk" fixed and yes, they rotated my tires. Decided to give these guys a second chance, this time with my company fleet vehicle. My check engine light and service wrench light were coming on. Once again, they had my vehicle for the whole day. I had to repeatedly call them since they never called me when they said they would. "Your vehicle will be ready in forty minutes", then one hour, then two hours. When I started it up to leave, the service engine wrench was on, "Oh, I guess the mechanic must have forgot to clear the error". Really!!! After trying for about twenty minutes the [clown] mechanic brought out the counter man. He tried for another ten minutes. "Well, I guess Ford is having trouble with the ECM's on this vehicle. I'll have to call Ford Service tomorrow and get back to you". After five days of not hearing from them I took it elsewhere. One thing they did do, while clearing any error codes, they managed to reset my oil minder. Just push buttons, try this, try that. Clowns. Sign on the side of the building claims to have been voted #1 auto repair in the county. Poor Calvert County.

My E350 Benz needed a new engine, after visiting a few repair facilities in Calvert County I decided to trust Art's. The professionalism was on point... they took time to discuss the details of the repair. I enjoyed being able to talk with both the service managers and the mechanics performing the task. I never felt uncomfortable allowing Art's Automotive to service my $65,000.00 auto... great service, great people. STRONGLY RECOMMEND Art's if you need auto service

They treat you like a best friend. If you think you can get a better deal somewhere else then you've never been to Art's Tire Service. My Impala was up in the air and fixed before I knew it. My wife said, honey is that our car out front and when I looked over to my surprise only 20 minutes was all that went by . They removed, balanced and replaced my rt rear tire in record time.The Service Guy told me exactly how and why my tire failed which made perfect sense. After that I drove down the road and my car ran smoother than it had for months. Thankyou Art for running a professional and super courteous business. They do have an amazing selection of tires to choose from. Any kind of tire you need. You won't be disappointed that's for sure.

After a REALLY bad experience with a chain store, a co-worker recommended Art's to me. I will never take my car anywhere else again. The staff a friendly and, unlike many automotive places, don't talk down to women. They explain everything they need to do, lay out the costs, and let you decide. When I went in this past weekend to get my front brakes and rotors replaced despite only being about a year old, they found the real issue was my calipers were not releasing and causing the damage. Even though it was late on a Friday, because it would have been unsafe to drive, they sent a worker to get the parts needed to fix it that night. That is good customer service! You might pay a little more here than at a chain store or having your best friend's uncle do the work, but knowing I am supporting a local business that stands by their work and their customers is completely worth it.

Never feel dumb, always feel educated. Good prices. Great people. Cannot recommend them enough! Original Always helpful and understanding. Always do great work and seek to do more. Take initiative but never pushy. Don't take my cars anywhere else. Used to; never again. Art's is the place to go!

Had a $1,000.00 break job done at Art's on my Toyota 2 years 6,235 miles ago. My breaks started pulsating the other day, so I took it to a mechanic friend that I have been dealing with for years. He was in the hospital during the time I needed that break job so I took it to Art's. My friend has been a mechanic for 40 years and worked for a Ford dealership for 30 years before retiring. He said to me "OMG" who did this break job? I told him. He said that the replacement parts were the cheapest available and the installation was done incorrectly. The pistons were not lubricated and dry, the result was that they had seized up causing the pads and rotors to wear out prematurely. Would I recommend Art's to a Family Member or Friend..... what do you think? What's that old saying about 'Fooling some of the people some of the time......" Note to Art: Repeat business is the cornerstone to any truly successful business!

Art's automotive treated me good and performed great service on my vehicle. Most would just fix the vehicle but these guys even test drove with a second pair of eyes and gave honest recommendations. I have seen shops do less and charge more. I trust these guys and will take my vehicles to them with zero hesitation. Lastly, they gave me open and honest advice as i looked at buying a used vehicle to include a mechanics inspection before purchase at no cost. I was charged 70 bucks at other locations for literally nothing.

Very impressed and appreciative of the service here. I brought my vehicle in with some differential issues and needed it fixed quick for a road trip. I got my vehicle back the next day, for less than half the price quote I got from another shop, and there were zero issues on the ten hour trip. I've never been to a shop that was so helpful and professional.

I have now had two vehicles of mine serviced at Arts Automotive Service Center. I expect top-notch service on my vehicles and that's exactly what Arts Automotive staff provided me. I'm a young man on a tight budget and the owner worked with my budget without compromising the quality of parts and labor. If you're looking for a Company with Integrity, Pride, and "know-how", this is the only place you'll need to come to. I'll be a customer for life, garenteed!

I have had work done on two vehicles over the last two years at Art's Automotive. I had the rear tires replaced on my 2013 Audi after I had damaged one beyond repair; this was in 2014. So far in 2016, Art's has installed an after-market cat-back exhaust in my 2016 F-150, followed a couple months later by a front level kit, then followed a few weeks later with the installation, mounting and balancing of custom wheels and tires. I have been satisfied with their work each and every time. With every visit Jeff (manager) has treated me right, given me confidence that my vehicle was being treated as they would treat one of their own and always with my safety in mind... I trust Art's and will not hesitate to continue to take my vehicles there in the future.

Art's installed a new starter in my pickup in July 2016. The price was not cheap, but I was assured that the starter was new and not rebuilt. Over the Labor Day weekend, my truck did not start AGAIN. Obviously, I was a little disturbed having this to occur again so close to having the replacement in July. I was not looking forward to discussing the situation with Art's after the holiday weekend, but after I called, I was told that they stand 100% behind their work and to bring it back in. I did and they did! It is good to know when having repair performed on your vehicle that get what you expect and the work is guaranteed. Art's was this for me....

To start with, my experience with this shop was nothing but horrible. I live in the area and had heard my fair share of negative things about this shop but I decided to give them a chance. At the time I was trying to sell my girlfriends car and I was approached by a coworker interested in the vehicle. She asked me to go by Arts and that they were going to do a visual inspection of the car for her. I am a part time mechanic and I knew this car was in great mechanically condition so I had no problem doing this. So I contacted the guys at Arts and arranged to have my girlfriend come by with the car. Everyone was friendly and they seemed like great guys. However that is where the good service stopped. After leaving the shop my girlfriend came back to me with the list of things they came up with that were wrong with the car. To start with they said the windshield needed to be replaced. It had no cracks or even chips for that matter and was in great condition. They said the front motor mount was broken but surprise it wasn't even worn. Mind you I have taken very good care of the car and I knew it inside and out. They mentioned that the headlights where hazy when I had just replaced them... To top all of that off I had just installed new brake pads and rotors and based on their "visual inspection" it needed new brakes. Concerned with their inspection I decided to give them a call and talk to the guy that my girlfriend witnessed do the inspection. I asked for details/justification for the work they listed. As soon as I did that the mechanic said he didn't do the inspection and that he needed to ask the guy that did it. He stepped away to return within a few seconds (i.e. he didn't go anywhere or talk to anyone) to tell me vaguely the windshield had a scratch. He didn't address any of the other things they listed that I had asked about and notified me that if I wanted any further information that I would have to bring the car in and pay for a full MD Inspections. This shop is a scam and very untrustworthy. I would never let them touch my vehicle. Hopefully I can save someone else from wasting their time and money.

I just went to Art's Automotive for the first time and they were great. They were really friendly, assessed the problem on my Acura, and kept the cost down for me. They also asked if I had a ride. When I called, they gave me a very detailed breakdown of what they did, and some recommendations for the future. I would highly recommend them. They also have a nice waiting area with TV and coffee; some places don't have the best place to wait.
