Friendly staff and was able to get a better price here than any other towing company around (and I called every one).
I only have a few somewhat negative things to say, which is why I am only giving 4-stars.
1) The person I spoke with on the phone was well aware of the situation and the position/location of what I needed towed, however when the driver showed up, he seemed surprised and unaware of what needed to be done. It seems there was a cutoff of communication between the front office and the drivers.
2) I really didn't mind, but I had to put in quite a bit of legwork myself. From attaching cables, operating the winch, to guiding the driver on using the right angles to maneuver it onto the truck.
3) They gave me a bit of a discount, and although someone else paid for the service and any tips, the driver seemed upset that I didn't give him anything extra. While I usually tip tow drivers, I'm usually the one paying for it. And since I wasn't paying, and don't know how much the person who was gave the driver on top of the service fees, I don't think it was appropriate for him to give me an attitude for not giving him more money. Especially since I did about half the work myself.
Overall, it was a good service though and I was capable of doing what labor was required at the time, so besides my few minor complaints, I do recommend Oakleigh Towing above the other tow companies in the area.
Had car there because police towed from accident.thy are thieves plus supposed to contact before the other insurance company picked up to get stuff out of car but they didn't.
They Suck.
Prompt and affordable service. The driver kept me aware of his arrival time and worked quickly to get my car to the shop. Great sunday afternoon service.
They were 5 minutes away and the shop from my car was 2 minutes but they charged me $67. The guy was very friendly so I’d pick them over anyone any-day. Towson itself is expensive and the per mile isn’t as high as some around my area.
Broke down on a dangerous spot on I95. Had a friend drive me to their offic - clerk was very helpful, asked a few questions. Had a tow truck out there in 30 minutes. Tow driver was great and put the vehicle right in the driveway like a glove. $85 for the hook up and $6 per mil at the time of this writing. Recommend. Might be a different experience on weekends, holidays, or evenings, but I'd rather use these guys then a large national chain.
Ya know, towing places are of course kind of disliked as it sucks to get your car towed. But the guy here actually took pretty good care of me, was friendly, and helped keep the price as low as he could. I don't really have any other places to compare to, but they are pretty solid here.
Like others, I have used this service in the past. They have always been professional and friendly. Their operation is, in my opinion, first rate. Will always be my first choice for towing services of any kind.
Having something stressful happen like a car accident is an all around bad experience but the owner at Oakleighs made our experience less painful as possible! He let us use his personal battery charger to try to get the car started again and worked with us so we could get our car back home again. He was very understanding with what we were going through. I would definitely recommend Oakleighs if you are ever in a jam and need a reliable honest tow company!
