Lovely parkland and diverse trails with a good deal of MD history. Great for hiking, walking, fishing and general scenery.

This is my favorite place to hike, run and relax. It is very scenic, lots of events through out the year. Family friendly area with picnic tables and historic museum buildings next to Little Gunpowder.

Really neat and free place to visit. Would love to come back on the weekend when the buildings are open. Even on a weekend lots of outdoor area and buildings to explore.

A hidden gem of history spanning many decades of American history and culture. Something for every one of all ages. Restored buildings, historical interpreters and educational exhibits spanning several centuries. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. The scenery and grounds surrounding the village provide for a rewarding experience.

This was a very nice little park. We had fun walking a nice relatively short trail that took us across a wooded ridgeline, over the water and back through the covered bridge which was really cool. We got to stop into one of the buildings and watch some people making roasted chestnuts over a fire which was fun and we stopped into the main house and had some delightful conversation with the gentleman working there. The Christmas display was absolutely gorgeous with the tree and decorations definitely would recommend.

The trails are beautiful and well maintained, but horribly labeled online and on site. Google could not find the different parking areas so I ended up at Jerusalem Mill. The maps at the parking lot referenced all of the trails by color but were printed in black and white. My hike was gorgeous, but I was never quite sure where I was and if I was just going to have to turn around at some point and completely backtrack. There is great parking and it was not at all busy on Labor Day weekend.

Lovely grounds for exploring. Charming historic properties. Run by volunteers, who have done an amazing job having the buildings restored. Expect handmade labels and laid back interpretation.

Jerusalem mill trail was good one around 50 minutes. Initial elevation takes some breath but not very steep. Thereafter, it goes down and parallel to river stream. It was beautiful sunny morning which helped.

Nice little park I like to come up here and watch the blacksmithing and other events they hold. They also hold concerts here it's a good place to just come and relax or take a dip in the river

This little village is so beautiful for taking photos! It's great for a picnic as well. There's a stream running through it that makes it so peaceful. They have events from time to time as well.

Really nice and easy trails for you to bring tour pets or little kids. It's very relaxing. Parking is give or take because it can get crowded easily so the earlier the better.

The most beautiful historic site I have ever seen. Everything is perfectly preserved and authentic. I witness the lady working in blacksmith shop. I'm convinced she really loves that life.

Stopped by this place while geocaching. It was wet and cold so I could not spend a lot of time there. There is a gift shop, but it is only open on weekends...out of luck on a Wednesday. It was nice to see the partially reconstructed barn and old farm equipment. I'll have to stop by on a weekend to get a better look at the place.

Beautiful place to have a picnic, take pictures, and go on a hike/ walk. Recommend for family pictures, engagement shoots, etc.

This place is gorgeous. I came here for a memorial dedicated to my Uncle. We had a beautiful ceremony that the Mill happily let us have. The grounds are expansive, with plenty of trails and historical info. This place is great for hiking, or taking some beautiful pictures. The staff that run the small museum there are also really nice and helpful. There are indoor bathrooms at the welcome center should you need, and a water fountain.

The well traveled trails around the Mill are just lovely as always. With the Little Gunpowder Falls River as the background, it's very relaxing. Nothing hard core, with about 200ft of elevation change. Be mindful of rocky bits.

Tldr: The trails are very nice, lots of things to look at, and the parking is good. The trails themselves are very nice once you get by the bit of gravel at the beginning. The trail markers are clear and frequent and most of the trails are under a fair amount of shade. I walked half of the white trail and the blue trail since they connect and make a little loop. Everyone on the trail was friendly and it overall feels very safe. Not that many people were on the trails and we never felt very close to anyone, but it also wasn't a super busy day. There are some hills, rocks, and little creeks to walk over but overall I would say this is a fairly easy hike. Lots of places to stop and take a break if you need to. For people who are trying to get some exercise in or are looking to do a trail for the first time, I would highly recommend this one. There seems to be a lot of cool history stuff to look at, and occasionally there will be jousting. When we were there the blacksmith was in and a few families were at the picnic tables nearby. The loss of stars is for the lack of clarity of the map. The trail maps are a little crude and confusing and so it's hard to get started on the right trail. But once you get going it's easy to follow the markers. Sometimes the trail splits and there isn't really signage, so make sure you look a little down the paths to follow your colored trail marker. I also took a star down because there were a lot of people not following the rules. Some girls were taking grad pictures and a bunch of people want to get closer looks at either things in the woods or the covered bridge and walk in the road. The road is already a single lane that supports two way traffic so it can get hectic, but the people made it that much worse. The parking is pretty good. They have designated lots and even an overflow parking area. I will say we went on a moderately busy day and had to park on the overflow lot, so if you're going on a perfect weather Saturday you might want to get there a bit earlier. Overall it's a great spot to bring kids for a picnic, do on an outdoor date, or take a fairly easy hike. Next time I'll be looking at more of the attractions such as the museum. I look forward to returning!

Great place nestled right in kingsville Maryland. It's also part of Gunpowder state park. There's so much to explore and do. Great for families and friends. The village is historic and is all run by volunteers and locals. They keep up with maintaining the history. There's lots of trails and they all connect to the state park. They even do guided tours and educational field trips. There's a jousting field that has summer events. There's lots of fishing and swimming areas to go explore. Plenty of hiking trails that are horse friendly as well as biking trails. There is a museum that's open on weekends and a visitor center. This place is free to visit and has free parking but they do accept donations. There are plenty of picnic benches and a pavilion. Most of the historic buildings are acessable and can be gone through. There's even the old black smith shop which is fun and they do live demonstrations. Located minutes from 95 and easy to get to. Go out and explore plenty of photo opportunities here !!!

Time out for self-care & adventure. Trails to walk & hike. The forest is a great getaway. It's a magical place to refresh your mind, body, & spirit. I went in search of peace and it was EVERYTHING I needed it to be. Restore the balance within by going for a walk in the woods. The trails were a labeled to some degree, but it was all new to me. The park wasn't crowded at all. They have a small parking lot so plan ahead. The park rangers were hanging out on the grass not too far from the parking lot, so it felt safe. Its a great place for a picnic or a quick lunch break. I stopped in one day before work for a quick reset. I encourage everyone or anyone reading this review to make a day of it and explore the magic that awaits U.

Jerusalem Mills is great for hiking. Me and my fiancée usually hike 6 to 8 miles here. Wear comfortable shoes bring water. I would suggest going to the information center and getting maps before hiking. There are a lot of twist and turns. The is water here. I sometimes see families playing in the water. The scenery is peaceful everyone is usually friendly. Some of the trails are filled with rocks so watch your footing. These trails offer a little bit for everyone. The tree marking are there but sometimes confusing when your a new hiker. Bottom line I love it here.

I've been hiking here for almost 20 years. The area around the parking lot and museum get really crowded all summer long, but the trails are usually quiet. There's a rocky beach area by the bridge for wading and swimming with picnic tables. You can walk a half mile to a covered bridge from the late 1800s and back through the woods on well-maintained trails, although they do get super muddy in the fall and winter. You can also hike north from the parking area and do a 2.5 mile loop. The historical stuff is also really fun if you haven't done it before.

Hiking, peaceful, relaxing day ALWAYS. And one of the paths leads to a covered bridge. Great authentic home with period dress and a wonderful dry goods store from centuries shoe.

I love going to Jerusalem mill. This weekend was hiking, but the mill also hosts old time softball, concerts, and reenactments, to name a few. The volunteers are very gracious and the area is kept super clean.

I went there today for the first time. I absolutely loved it. People on the trails where super friendly. Plenty of places to picnic and play in the water. Water shoes are suggested. Great place to take photos. Parking is not that great.

Stumbled across this place while exploring, and it just happened to be their Halloween celebration! It was amazing. The staff was friendly, tons of activities, and the grounds were spectacular. Highly recommended for a quick jaunt.

Great place for hiking. Nice trails, awesome workout. Bring food and enjoy. Just wish some people would remember to pick up their trash to keep our woods beautiful.
