This place used to be very cost-effective but over the year they have increased the prices. Secondly and importantly they charge you $9 on parts warranty without your consent. They have put on few signs about it but every time I'm forgetting to tell them no to charge me warranty fee. In my last visit I asked him not to but he said its already done.

Went here to get 2 headlight adjusters for my 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee, after a little walking around to find the correct vehicle(s) that were listed on their website I was able to find them and get the parts I needed and got 2 extra items that I didn’t go there for but grabbed them. For 4 parts the total was a little under $5 without any warranty. Had to pay a $2 entry fee as well. So all in all if you live local to o e of their locations I definitely recommend you go there for any scrap parts you might need (OEM or sometime after market). Oh and staff was friendly also.

At one time this was a excellent place to buy used parts, but now I wouldn't advise anyone going there unless you run out of options. The people at the front desk are rude, they now want you carry paper with you to write down the stock number for each car you take parts off. Then when you pay for your part, they rob you by charging you for a warranty on the parts you buy without telling and giving you a chance to deny it 1st. If you can find another junkyard, I suggest doing so. That place has poor management. The cars and trucks are very unorganized. If I managed that yard if would be more efficient and productive. it doesn't take much to get things in order, just common sense.

This yard is clean and well organized, the vehicles are in order. I really like the fact that this is possibly the largest of all the yards, also the fact that this place has port a potty latrines station around the yard makes it one of my favorite yards.

Pros: One of the cleanest pick and pulls I've ever been to. In order to comply with local laws, they keep the yard clean and organized. Online inventory list has photos, VINs, and dates when the cars were set out in the yard. Tires can be dismounted from wheels before paying if you don't want to buy full sets. Yard staff and even the guards are pleasant. Cons: Pricing is on the high side, most items have a core charge which we all know is just another way to charge customers extra. Hot parts from cars are picked from cars the instant they are set down - there are regulars here that pick parts daily, if you're a normal guy looking for some of the harder to find parts, good luck as you definitely won't be getting to the car first. Biggest Issue: The Extra Large gentleman at the cash register can and will rip you off. You'll be nickel and dimed on everything, and I mean everything. On top of that, he'll sneak in the extra warranty charge onto your bill without telling you or asking if you wanted that warranty to begin with. Only after you ask about pricing for each part will you realize that there's sometimes an extra $50 added to your bill for warranties you don't need or never asked for. For a decent sized yard, parking here is tight and often difficult to find a spot.

Parts were so easy to pull cos, cars are all elevated on stands....makes all the difference. Reason I did not 5star is because, I felt overcharged for sonata radiator support with the upper part already gone, sold to somebody else.

Good and bad experience I found the perfect hood that I was looking for the location was clearly organized and marked. I asked one of the yard workers if he could help me get the hood to the top of the hill. He was more than eager to help and placed the hood in his truck bed rather flimsy. when I question him about it it he said not to worry he drives very slow. Before he could make it to the top of the hill the hood fell out bending the corners on the hood and knocking the paint off of a perfect hood. The workers gets out of his truck picks up the hood with out inspecting it. I observed the damage. He looked at me and said whats wrong you cant use it now. SMH. I told him maybe they will discount it for the damage. I told the cashier of my experience not only didn't he discount the hood but he also charged an additional tax called an environment fee SMH. Overall good parts well layed out and terrible customer service.

Shady corporate business practices when providing quotes to salvage your car. The on site store may be fine. But don’t sell your car to them. Each time I called, the price kept dropping. They say your quote is good for seven days, but then forget to mention the won’t tow on the 6th or 7th day. Then they require you for lower. This is predatory. Stay away.

It was all clean up. Every time that I go there I don't find the parts that I want to buy. Their staff take it all just for their storage. They get it all just for them. The Cash register guy is always rude. Yesterday August 26, 2020. Around 4:30 pm The security man was showing his gun and asking for driving license to a Latino customer after the Spanish customer paid the security guy runs after him and push him and forcing him to show his ID and went back to the register laughing with the driver license in his hands. Security man was a Caucasian. We all the customers Afro-American and Latinos are the customers and we don't deserve that type of treatment. We all got out very sad and frustrated talking about it.

Worst place ever, never going there again i dont recommend, the vehicles should have the history of what happen to the car or what works and what doesn't, cause if you try to make a refund on something they dont take it, makes no sense other places give you a 3 day warranty. Workers only care about money, Tried getting a window regulator i was being charged $35 when i can get it new for about the same price. Take in mind you cant test it because they dont allow you to take anything other than tools inside soooo..... if it dont work is not their problem once you pay theres no refunds.

Awesome place for any of your used car part needs. You can save a lot of money pulling the parts you need yourself, if you have your own tools of course. Big selection of makes and models. Plenty of GM LS motors to pull for a swap, 4.8s to 6.0 Escalade blocks. A little short on Toyota truck/SUVs but that’s to be expected in any junkyard, if you look hard enough you’ll find ‘em. Found some windshield wiper clips for my Tundra off an 4-Runner, and the security checker was nice enough to just let me walk with the very small plastic clip. Customer service has gotten much better over the years, still miss the name “Crazy Rays” though.

First do your HW about this. But even on the spot you can look at their inventory on your phone and know the location/spot of the car you are looking for. If you are a DIY-er and know what you want and how to pull parts out of a car, this is the place to go. there was also a guy inside the yard willing to offer his service to pull parts . nice field trip experience if you have a teen 16+. they dont allow under 16. take your tools with you, and grab their wheel barrow to walk around the yard. it is huge! but well organized. all cars are unlocked. hood popped up. body elevated above ground.

It says online that you can find cars by lines and rows by make. That's not the case. At tops it will be by the type of body the car has. Also, there is not a system for how much they charge. The guy in the front will charge you whatever he wants. They tried to charge me the same prize as a new piece. When I called him out on it he simply shrugged his shoulders and stared. This place is only good if you need the piece right away. Also, they will most likely check your bag. Do not bring your own auto part inside because they will take it and throw it away . And they do in fact have signs at the entrance that say not to bring them in, so don't do it lol.

From out of town. They explained their policy for picking parts. I did not have any tools so they made an exception and asked one of their employees to give me a hand. The gentleman chosen was the very outstanding, in fact the entire staff made me feel welcomed. They solved a crisis for me. Thank you very much. From New York

Terrible service. Crooks. Dont buy a battery or anything for that matter from here. I bought 2 batteries. Supposed to be reconditioned. one was no good. I took back next day ave he would not honor the stated 6 month warranty. He basically told me I was screwed. Their prices are so high you can get cheaper new parts on eBay. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time at pick and pull

Very bad customer practice. I would recommend finding another spot to get used parts when a mistake is made. This spot would rather you purchase your own tools then sell you items you pull in the yard. Either you rebuy your own tools are leave with nothing after your hard work pulling parts. I wouldn’t return so frustrated after my experience. Try explaining the logic but they ignored everything. Left with nothin after I searing for the poor service.

Terrible. They agreed to pick up a car we'd totaled, from a local towing company (which charges $50/ day for storage--one heck of a parking fee). All day long on the agreed day, they assured me that the driver was coming. Of course he never showed up. Today is the day after they were supposed to come, and still no word. (I have arranged with a different junkyard to take it, and they seem much more reliable. If you're in MD, the alternative is Race Auto Parts; I'll try to leave a review of them, in case you're interested.)

I love how you can check lot inventory, so I don't waste a trip down there. Good price for a bumper. I've gotten other parts in the past. Great operation. Go during the week, though. Very busy on the weekend.

This is a great junkyard for an array of different automobile parts from vehicles ranging from full-sized trucks to Smart cars. It's quite convenient to pick parts off the vehicles as the yard personnel prop them up on rims that are welded to another rim and tire which holds the vehicle up a bit higher so you can have access to get underneath the vehicle to pick out under-the-engine parts one normally can't get from above. There are all makes and models of cars whether they're American or Imports. The prices are reasonable but be sure to bring $2 to get in. They stamp your hand so you can leave the yard and come back if you need to. They have engine lifts available in the event that you need to hoist an engine out and wheel barrows if you need a hand with heavy or lots of different parts. The wheel barrows have "no-flat" tires that require no air so you don't have to worry about punctures and a rough ride. Overall, this junkyard has a lot to offer. Get in there during the weekdays in order to get a parking spot. Weekends tend to be much more difficult when trying to park. Also, don't forget your tools!

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Called and rescheduled four times just to be told by the asst manager that I had to request, that my car is out of radius to pick up. Nobody could tell me that in the last two an a half weeks that I been trying to get my car picked up. Manager said they could do nothing. Basically told me the drivers decide whether they want to pick the car up or not and she has nothing to do with it. On top of that, she tells me I called and cancelled my quote when I called and was told it was rescheduled. She also told me they called me this morning and said my car was out of radius but why would they do that if I "cancelled" my quote? Not to mention nobody called and did any such thing.

Been buying parts here for over 10 years. The 1-star reviewers must be expecting a full-service parts store or something. This is a salvage yard. Expect to look for (and possibly not find) what you need, and come in with some knowledge of which cars have parts compatible with yours, and you won't be disappointed. Come in with a "somebody owes me" attitude and you've created your own bad experience.

Been here 20+ times. Honestly, it is what you can describe it as, an "auto salvage yard". These are cars that have been damaged or died, that have been brought in for YOU to pull parts off of for a discounted price. There isn't an inventory, but the lot is arranged the best way possible. So if you know what car you need a part for and which cars share or interchange parts, you're good. If you aren't willing to pull the part yourself and get a little dirty, don't complain. Jacks aren't allowed for safety reasons. It's not a concrete lot, so you can't guarantee a jack won't shift and drop a car on you. However, most cars are lifted and set on tire stacks for easy access. They do accept cash and credit. Yes, they accept credit now! Great place if you enjoy working on a car to get a part. The staff is great as well, if you aren't rude to them, they aren't rude to you. But like I said, no inventory, so don't ask for a specific car or part. They can give you pricing information, but patience goes a long way on the customers part. Enjoy!

Just left Crazy Rays for the second time.. I had told myself I would never return after the first dealings. I made the mistake and returned for a second visit. The rudest ,least helpful and most vulgar employees I have ever encountered anywhere. The vehicles were displayed in a manner which made me feel unsafe to remove my parts.I went immediately to Brandywine and was greeted by friendly, well versed reps. The vehicles were displayed in a far safer fashion and the prices were better. I will never make the mistake and return to Crazy Rays. If the parts were free I still would not put up with the rudeness and unsafe conditions!

One of the best "u pull it" used auto parts in the DC metro region. They do a great job with elevating their current inventory (using steel tire rims) to allow you to examine / pull items from under-carriage, nice touch! Prices for parts are listed (but feel free to ask prior to access into the yard). $2 entrance fee. What they they have in inventory comes and goes, do your homework by visiting their website (search the LQK site that you want to visit, there's several of them), although you can call them as well.

I called few Times recently doesn't seem customers friendly as I remember years ago.. it's hard for me to do business or buy from companies that have Nonchalant Attitudes. Every customer should be as important and Priority, Just as every dollar counts. Few years ago I sold couple cars there very happen and fast transaction. I plan to do business again soon hopefully ill have a better Perspective.

Got a headlight and a side view mirror for my friend's car. 100 bucks for both and I know that was expensive for any pick your part yard. The employees are downright nasty to where they treat you like garbage even when you're courteous and polite to them. Why run any kind of business if you're gonna treat your customers like that?

This is a self-service junkyard. Entry is $1. What does that buy you? Freedom, ladies and gentlemen. Freedom to browse the ever-changing inventory of junked, trashed, and forgotten cars. Freedom to bring your own tools and pull your own part. Must we make sacrifices for such boundless freedom? Of course--there's no guarantee they'll have what you need. There's no guarantee that they'll even know what they have. And there sure as hell isn't any guarantee that what they have will work, SO DO YOUR DAMN HOMEWORK. And keep in mind, this lack of inventory or refund policy is reflected in the price. You want a guarantee? Pay the parts counter at your local dealer. I'll take the $10 alternator and the gamble that comes with it. Domestics? Yup, they're there. Imports? Yup, they got 'em. Trucks? SUVS? Double yup. There is a heaven on earth, ladies and gentlemen, and it's right here in Jessup.

I frequent Crazy Ray's looking for G-Body parts, and parts for other vehicles from time to time. I've been to 3 different locations so far. Sadly parts prices are going up thanks to LKQ. Hawkins Pt. - They have a pretty good size yard, with decent vehicles. Be prepared to wait in long lines though. You will also be treated like crap and sized up at the checkout window. Don't bother asking anyone to move or lift a vehicle for you, because it won't happen. Erdman Ave. - A smaller yard compared to the others, but they get a lot of new vehicles daily. Employees there are alright, just treat them with respect and they'l help you out. Pulaski hwy. - I've been there once since it's far away from where I live. The yard there is big, so I recommend taking a walk through to scout out cars you might want something off of instead of lugging your tools a quarter mile for nothing. I haven't purchased anything from there yet so I don't know how well the service is.

Absolutely terrible place to be. They charge you a fee to enter, and give you an attitude with it. They don't have that many foreign cars and most of them are older model (80s-90s). So if you are looking for parts for later model, then don't consider this place. Even for older model cars, they barely have anything left. All their cars are completely striped down. Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend anyone to go here. You will waste time and money. Be warned.

don't expect to be treated like you're walking into a new car lot. These guys are very busy, and you're going there to get stuff cheap, not to be pampered like you're spending 20k on a new car. You go in, find your part, pay a crazy cheap price, and leave. The same mirror that other junk yards wanted $60 for, crazy rays sold for $15. That makes me happy.
