Stay far away from this place. They’re clearly working hand-in-hand with police to pull over out-of-state trucks and force them into unnecessary inspections. As soon as you arrive, you see them chatting and laughing with the officers like they’re old friends. Then magically, your truck has “issues” that require expensive repairs or towing to their shop. Total scam. They add made-up violations just to trap you. Do yourself a favor and avoid Eliot, Maine altogether if you’re a trucker.
Just so you know — something really sketchy is going on with that towing company in Eliot, Maine. They seem to work hand-in-hand with the state police to pull over trucks, tow them to their shop, and then hit you with a ridiculous bill to get them back. When they arrive, they’re all buddy-buddy with the cops — shaking hands and chatting — and then suddenly the inspection gets worse, like they’re adding things just to justify the tow. It happened to me, and the charges were insane. Feels like they’re purposely targeting truckers. We should leave a review to warn others and keep them from getting trapped like this.

This towing company operates in Eliot, Maine and appears to work closely with state police to tow trucks without proper justification. They took my truck to their shop and then charged an outrageous bill just to release it. The prices are excessive and feel like a scam. They take advantage of truckers, especially those from out of state. This is not an honest or transparent business. Stay away from this company if you can — completely unprofessional.
Nothing positive to say about this place. Worst communication, had this " nobody knows nothing attitude" saying things like " we didn't say that" " wasn't at this location" ect... Crooked...shady... Unprofessional money pit business ... Not sure why Elliot police use them seems they would use a more reliable and reputable company...shame all around save yourself the headache
Very positive experience. They towed me on a day when the weather was terrible and seemingly every towing service was booked. The dispatch was easily reachable. The young man, Jordan, who provided the service, was professional and competent. Seems like a well run company that values customers, reputation, and employees.
National helped me out recently when I had an issue with my truck. Andrew was super friendly, knowledgeable and got me out of a bind. Really appreciate it!
Very disappointed. Will never ever agai use the “National wrecker “again. I had a truck in to an acid ent two years ago and they charged $7000 yes seven thousand for 15 miles. And today I have another truck broke down in Eliot so police called them not me they tow my10 O00 pound truck is not a 18 wheeler is a small delivery van and for two miles to there place they charged me $575. I went there to pay and my truck was blocked like kidnapped so they told me that if I don’t take the truck in two hours oust they will start charging me another $140 a day for storage. Be wear those guys are really wreckers but mont wreckers. Do not use them if you need tow service go Google there are plenty in the area.

Truck de rated call National wrecker to see if they could get me in and fix what was wrong didn’t have time to get me in so I had them tow my rig to a shop in Fitchburg mass the driver was professional and knew what he was doing highly recommend the towing service.
CALLED RALF FOR A QUOTE HE GAVE ME A PRICE TOLD ME A PRICE.. NEEDED SERVICES TO HAUL A TRAILER INTO THE NAVAL BASE. "DRIVER WAS QUALIFIED". ONCE DRIVER SHOWED UP I WAS NOTIFIED DRIVER WAS NOT QUALIFIED. RALF SENT IN ANOTHER DRIVER, STRONG ARMED US INTO PAYING TRIPLE THE AMOUNT QUOTED LIED ABOUT HOURS ON THE JOB SATED HE HAD 5 HOURS IN WHEN HE ONLY HAD 2 HOURS AT MOST WE PUT THE CALL IN AT 1PM DRIVER SHOWED AT 1:30 WAS COMPLETE BY 330PM. RALF USE VERY FOUL LANGUE CALL MY DRIVER THE N*** WORD.
Called about right turn signal not working, tech did his diagnostic and changed the right marker, turn signal light on tractor and $310.00 dollars later he doesn't know what the problem is. I left with a new light and no turn signal. Went to pay gave my card and low and behold she wants to see my ID, wrong color in that part of state New Hampshire, they suck and won't, or can't find the problem.
They company is really good. The staff on the phone were professional and helpful. The driver was great as well. He was very careful with loading my F150 onto the flatbed. He made sure that it was secured. I hope not to have to use a wrecker again but if do it will be National. Price was affordable and reasonable.
The Owner is a Liar. He told me to be there today at 10am and he will take care of it. No call, nothing to let me know "Sorry, I can't do it today". Don't use these people. Either Eliot or Portsmouth.
