Stopped by on a rainy day and sure are glad we did. This may be one of the most impressive car collections you will ever see. The curator and museum staff were extremely nice and well informed on the history and mechanical nuances of each car. This is cant miss if you are in the area and appreciate cars and history.

If you’re into cars and history, this is a must do! Amazing restored cars, motorcycles and more along with a pleasant history lesson to boot! And the gentlemen who were working the museum could not have been nicer.

The rich history in this place is amazing. The selection of brass era, cars are not seen pretty much anywhere. In the country.. the volunteers do an amazing job, keeping up the collection. And most of all bringing kids and the neighborhood and community into the museum. It's wonderful to see. Definitely a recommended stop.

Friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff. An excellent and well laid out automotive museum. We'll definitely be back year after year.

Amazing collection of historically significant autos and locally relevant cars. Found a few built near where I live! Amazing staff!

Great, esoteric collection of early 1900's automobiles and motorcycles. Staff was friendly, approachable and informative. A real gem that's off the beaten path.

Wonderful Museum! Great displays! Interesting stories especially of Bertha Benz. Be a Bertha! Plan on spending at least 60 minutes there.

Highly recommended. Huge selection of antique cars from the 1886 Benze to about 1910. Nothing was automatic so there are more levers then I know what to do with. Nicely curated, good explanations on signs (short and informative), clean, and truly antique cars, motorcycles, toy pedal cars, and much more. Loved how artifacts from the era of the car were displayed next to the car.

A truly unique experience. The signs were so informative and we found a lot of machines built in Buffalo, NY which was super cool. The staff was making rounds answering questions and offering fun facts. We took our time to peruse on a beautiful day - but I'm sure this is also a great way to spend a chilly or rainy day! We saw children going around completing a scavenger hunt as well - great idea! I also really enjoyed the various dresses and picnic baskets on display!

The museum staff and curator were wonderful! They were very informative, and the curator gave our party of 6 a private tour around the auto museum sharing history, facts, and other information. The whole experience was amazing! I highly recommend coming here. If you are visiting Bar Harbor, it is only a half-hour drive, and it is definitely worth the trip to Seal Cove to check it out.

If you enjoy the evolution of the automobile then spending some time at Seal Cove Auto Museum will be time well spent. The staff was super friendly and took time to discuss the various autos in this impressive collection. Doesn't hurt either that this museum is about 15 minutes away from Bar Harbor as well.

An absolute gem to find! I was visiting the island for part of my roadtrip from Indiana and stopped in before I left the island. This museum placed emphasis on women’s impact on the automotive industry - which was amazing. All the placards and pictures highlighted women who have all but been lost or buried under the legacy of the male automotive titans. I left the museum with a children’s book about the women’s suffrage movement for my daughters!

$10 admission. Open seasonally so check for hours / days. Such a cool, interesting unique collection of Brass Era cars and other antique collectibles. So many of the guys there stopped to talk to us and share great stories and anecdotes which made the experience even better. Beautiful setting in Maine too. Couldn’t recommend enough if you enjoy history and cars!

This is the one of the most beautifully presented exhibit of antique cars and motorcycles I've ever seen. I what a surprise to find something like this seemingly out in the middle of nowhere.

We noticed this museum on our way from a hike and decided to give it a look. We had a blast! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of these amazing early century cars. We spent 3 hours looking at all of the unique antique cars and asking the staff all kinds of questions, which they happily answered. Whether you are a car enthusiast or just enjoy looking at cool things, take the time to stop by if you are in the area!

This is a super special place and experience and one that I think should be talked about more and here’s why. The museum is full of what used to be a private collection from someone that loved their cars SO much, they made sure this museum would be possible and live on beyond their passing. Now, it’s operated and taken care of by people who care just as much about their conservation and sharing how special they are. These cars are so well taken care of that a lot of them not only still run but they’re some of the last in the world of their kind (and were also some of the first in the world of their kind!). There’s information on pretty much every car from its mechanics to the time period context and if you want to know more their staff are there to help. We ran into the lead mechanic and he was nice enough to show us some of his favorites and walk us through why they were made the way they were. They even have a cute little gift shop. Would definitely suggest this as a stop if you’re in the area!

What an incredible place to visit! Beautifully curated and impeccably maintained historic vehicles. We loved the history of everything in the museum and also chatting with everyone for their “Cars and Coffee” event. A great place for kids and adults to visit, and will certainly be back the next time we are in the area.

Nice place. Good selection of vintage vehicles. Scavenger hunt made it fun for the kiddos. Nice grounds although we visited on a rainy date. Nice stories with fun facts for most of the vehicles.

It was a very well laid out museum with a good selection and amount of cars. They also had a few other vintage items to go along with the cars like clothes, picnic baskets, etc. There was room to walk around and look without feeling crowded if there was others there.

A very interesting museum. Great selection of pre 1920's cars and their relation to the women's suffragette movement. I thought the museum would be boring for someone that's not that interested in cars, but it was fun and educational.

What an amazing surprise. Mostly pre-20's autos and motorcycles with a beautifully curated exhibit related entirely to the role of the auto in the Suffrage movement. Excellent research, beautiful cars, careful presentations, great staff.

Much better than expected! I've seen bigger museums...but this museum has really pinpointed the more impressive specimens that stand out. Good amount of information for each one. Price is reasonable for the quality you get to see. I am also very appreciative that they have several electric car chargers in their parking lot. Worth a visit. Plan on 45 minutes to an hour.

Not only does this museum sport some rare and interesting cars, it also has artifacts from the Woman's Suffrage Movement! Some of the cars in the collection are limited in number world wide! There are also some early motorcycles there as well. You can do an audio tour via the website. Don't let the size fool you, this museum is full of great things!

We are so glad we found this place. Wanting to avoid the crowds in downtown Bar Harbor, someone recommended Seal Cove Museum. What a gem! We spent about an hour wandering around the museum. So well done!! They change their themes, so we'll go back next year to see what is new. Highly recommend!

This little treasure was a great place to go when hiding from the summer heat mid day. The 19th amendment views and setups were delightful along with a tire from 100 years ago when the women were fighting for the right to vote for all. Loved the old cars that they had including a replica of the one that traveled around the whole country while they were putting out the right to vote!

This museum is a hidden gem! A little off the beaten path, but definitely worth a trip from Bar Harbor! We went since my husband likes cars and motorcycles, but I enjoyed the visit too! I was surprised to find the museum had lots of info on the women's sufragette movement and how it related to cars! It was nice to see the cars from a different perspective.

This is a pure gem hidden deep in Acadia, Maine. Museum with taste, style, class, with deep attention to historical detail. Better even then the huge automotive museum in Brussels, Belgium. With kind staff and a special take on cars that will melt the hearts even of non-drivers. They even have a place for kids to play. Undoubtably one of the best museum establishments I ever saw. SEVEN STARS well-deserves!!
