Nervous Nellies Jams and Jellies has to be experienced. It is a destination worth driving hours to see. The work, imagination, craftsmanship, creative vision, visual storytelling of this artist is phenomenal. The art installations (not sure what the best word for these fabulously unique vignettes is) are amazing. It is a forest full of unique art, figures, scenes, buildings. Words didn't do this wonderous place justice. We spent a couple of hours here in a Tim Burton-esq fairytale. There is definitely a creepy vibe, which makes it even more fun. And of course we purchased some of the jams and jellies.

Excellent, wonderful art work, pleasurable stroll through the interesting artwork, the out buildings are all pieces of art. You can spend a great deal of time wondering through them all. There is a store that has their jellies and jams.

We love all the Sculptures! They are dozens of immersion art installations throughout the woods.

Amazing spot, super cool to visit, and 100% worth going out of the way to see. This was far more than just a store as the property is a ton of fun to walk. Each corner has another hidden gem that is fun to see.

Absolutely inspiring. The place goes on forever with incredible art and infinite ways to interact. The staff were lovely and encouraged you to take your time and make yourself at home amongst the sculptures.

This is a one of a kind unique experience. The buildings and sculptures are exciting, whimsical, well thought out and for every age group. The store is in the back of the property. The Jam’s are my very favorite. They make the best strawberry, peanut butter sandwich’s. There’s also other goods in the store to purchase. Slow down when coming down the road, it comes up quick! Have a blast

Remarkable place for it's exterior decor. The actual retail shop is two small rooms with Maine produced products, all small items to attraction the tourists eye. The key reason to visit is to purchase outstanding fruit jams, jellies, Preserves, conserves and fruit based chutneys. My preference is for the blueberry preserves. I don't think the two cases In ought is enough..

Well, this a unique place. It is a collection of old junk and seemingly worthless items elevated to the status of art. It is not for everyone. Among all this there is a gift store selling jams, converves and jellies. A few things available for tasting. Price is around 10 dollars.

Unique place full of incredibly well-crafted upcycled materials, mainly antiques but designed into themes. Plan to spend a few hours. I thought I was just stopping by to check out jellies and spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around. The jelly is very good, and the gift shop has some tempting offers. I couldn't resist taking home a birdhouse. Go! You won't regret it.

It's a whole experience! We were expecting some novelties and a cute gift shop, but this is a whole ecclectic sculpture garden with over a dozen structures, dozens of scenes, and hundreds of unique characters! The grounds are free and paid for by donations and the gift shop. And oh lord, the gift shop! The jam, jelly chutney, and chocolate were all wonderful and the crafts for sale range from very Maine to outstandingly unique and original. Worth the few hour detour to get there, absolutely!

Went expecting a jam store, got to visit a whole unique town made by the owner with a collection of his antiques, stuff, and craftsmanship. Worth a visit if you like unique sites and is on your way.

This is a place you have to see to believe! I was always sort of leery of it because it looks so out of the ordinary- and out of the ordinary it is! Nellie's jams and jellies is as sweet and wholesome, clean and crisp as any shop could be! Carrying jams and jellies and chutneys, Maine souvenirs, etc. the out of the ordinary part is the fantastic world that borders the jelly shop! What fantastic mind could make such whimsical and sometimes dark sculptures and architecture strewn throughout the woods? It must be experienced!

Wonderful gift shop with a variety of jams, chutney, syrups and many other delights! Creative metal scrap sculptures scattered throughout the woods, many scenes that tell stories. Fun to stroll through. Dog friendly. Small parking area. Friendly people. Portable outhouse well used, not well maintained.

What a fun place. The jams and jellies are amazing as well. We got a couple different types of jellies to bring home. I was blown away that this place is free for everybody to check out all the art that Peter made and there was even real money inside the church way out back in a collection plate and nobody took it. What a great honest bunch of people are coming to visit. I even smooched all the animal heads. Yeah I know I’m weird. I thought it would make a funny picture.

This is always a favorite destination when I visit Deer Isle. The collected antique/junk art scenes here are unimaginably inventive and brilliant. You could easily spend a day here taking it all in, if you wanted to. The shop is filled with delightful Maine artisan creations. You really can't capture the magic adequately with photos or video. It has to be in person.

What a wonderful experience. Depicting an old time town with ancient rustic materials and handmade statues of people. A real treasure to behold. Everywhere I turned was unique & a well thought out creation.

Absolutely unhinged and unexpectedly delightful walk through an artists imagination. I spent more than an hour just exploring and discovering all of the quirks and corners of this property. I cannot recommend this place enough!!!! Seriously, an absolute treasure trove of antiques and oddities strewn about, almost feels like a step back in time in some areas. DONT SLEEP ON THE JAM EITHER!!!

Delightful, quirky place. Make sure you take time to roam all the buildings and see the sculptures. Jams, jellies and souvenirs in the little store.

This is my favorite stop every year on Deer Isle. I promise you that you have never been anywhere like it before! Peter's whimsical upcycled creations are interesting and fun!

A must stop if you're in the area. Much larger than I was expecting; you could easily spend a few hours here without seeing everything. The sculptures, buildings, and other bits and pieces are often accompanied by stories, bringing the entire place together and creating a sense of flow from one sight to the next. I also stopped at the gift store to try out their jam. I got a strawberry rhubarb conserve, which was good, and relatively inexpensive considering all that you have access to.

This place was much larger than we anticipated, and kept us busy for at least an hour. I think it’s a great place for kids, but my husband and I enjoyed it as well. It was a very unique experience, and I really enjoyed the self guided, creative exploration aspect. Of course we had to get some jelly, and it was really delicious. A bit pricey (2 jars came to ~$17), but I think it was worth it, especially when you consider the upkeep for the artwork and interactive exhibits. The drive out here was an adventure in itself, lots of great views along the way. If you’re visiting Maine, I would definitely suggest adding this place to your itinerary.

Unusual quirk entertaining grounds filled with sculptures and vignettes. Of course the jam and jelly store is what you take away after strolling the grounds. Eager to enjoy our taste of locally made jams jellies compotes …

Pictures don’t do this place justice! What a fantastic side trip wandering through the forest of artistic genius! My kids had to come back twice to fully enjoy this “hands on” outdoor sculptures. My daughter was particularly in awe of his reduce, reuse, recycle medium! While we haven’t had a chance to actually taste the jams and jellies, the gift store was a delight as well!

This place was amazing -- not at all what we expected, and totally worth the pit stop! We haven't tried the jams & jellies I bought, but the art alone is worth a visit. From the entry, it seems like a weird little "Old West" town made from some junk. As you enter, you seem to enter a forest full of antiques, junk, found art, and unusual sculpture. But as you venture further into the forest, you really start to understand that Peter Beerits is a true artist, and there's a lot more behind his work than meets the eye. From his Arthurian scenes, to his goddess/mythology treehouse, to the sacred church at the back of the property, there's a lot to take in. Highly recommended, especially if you're interested in folk art, storytelling, or found object sculptures!

Much larger than we expected and a VERY INTERESTING "Western Town" created by the artist. It's a must see! Plus the cute store with some very creative art, decor, and gifts to choose from! Please take some time to stop and see this place - I guarantee you'll love it❣

Fascinating folk art developed over decades. Unique and inventive. The jams and jellies are a bonus but make the trip for the art. Folk art is made from found objects made into something creative.

What an interesting place and a rare chance to walk through an artists vision. The use of materials and attention to detail had me studying each scene. Worth a visit for sure! And yes, the jams are delicious too!

What an amazing place! The ultimate in repurposing of old junk. Save at least an hour to wander through their artistic treasures. You can buy Mai e jams and jellies, maple syrup and many other Maine made items. no admission fee!

Delicious jams and jellies, fun little tasting room where you can buy coffee, tea, and treats, and the art work on the grounds is amazing. Well worth a visit, or frequent visits.
