Rangeley Builder supply is the only game in town and it’s clear the people who work there know it and I think customer service suffers because of it. I’ve been going there for years now but only as a last resort. I try to bring everything up with me I need because it’s always generally unpleasant dealing with the staff there. It reminds me of the Dave Chapelle Pop Copy skit! ? when you ask a question their eyes just kinda glaze over like what are you bothering me with now! I thought Ace was the place with the helpful hardware folk!? I will say it seems like they are nicer to the locals who go back like 3 generations, and the women who run the attached home goods store are super nice and helpful. Anyway not sure why I’m writing this as I know it will never change but my advice is if you own a place up there bring as much stuff up with you for your projects as possible. I’m not looking to support poor service!
I was ignored when I tried to ask locations of items. The owner was behind the desk, and seemed to be judging the clientele, as there were other patrons that he was more than willing to help, even though my mother and I were first in line....
Small town service and helpful employees. Love this place and I can always get someone to help. They carry great gifts for all occasions and hardware. Thank you!!!
A huge and well stocked hardware store. Especially impressive is the home decor section, which is spectacular! Makes me want to buy a home in Rangeley just so I can furnish it from them! A fun visit!
This place is the BEST! Do not focus on one bad review made by someone who was never even there! The review left by Ms. Pinkerton is slander if you ask me. All assumptions. I am a woman of color who dresses in the loudest most colorful clothing imaginable. I also have dreadlocks. I speak many languages, English just being one of the seven I am fluent in. I was treated by everyone who worked here with respect, and they were all so helpful to guide me to the items I needed to complete a repair at a home we had rented for a vacation. Honestly it felt like I was with family. Wouldn't hesitate for a second to go there again and know I would receive fantastic and respectful service!
Be very careful if you have brown skin or speak a different language inside this business. The worker here called ICE/border control on my husband's job site. He speaks 3 languages, manages a business full time, and has a family with me. We have 2 kids-8 and 6. My husband DROVE 4 HOURS to this job site to WORK and this happened. Disgraceful and racist.
This place rocks! Jennifer, their kitchen designer, made the process of selecting new cabinets fun and easy, and left us with a stunning finished product. Will definitely be going back for all of my projects in the future!
