Unfortunately, my wife’s car had an incident that made it unsafe to drive home after our annual camping trip. After contacting our insurance company’s roadside assistance, they sent Southern Maine Towing, more specially Kennedy. Boy am I glad they did! From the initial phone call to the final update, Kennedy provided exceptional service. He even sent a text with a picture of our car safely at our local Chevy dealer. His attention to detail and care for our vehicle was evident throughout the process. While needing a tow is never ideal, Kennedy and Southern Maine Towing made the experience as stress-free as possible. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness truly stood out. Kennedy showed up with a pleasant attitude and attempted to do jump start on my truck (which failed) not his fault, he got an emergency call that he had to take and I resubmitted a tow request he showed up prompt after the emergency call and quickly and safely loaded my truck and got me home. He was very friendly and courteous and went above and beyond to provide me with the best service I’ve ever had from any towing company, I’d recommend southern Maine towing to anyone who was looking for a tow. Great service. Diagnoses was a hung starter gear that freed up with some mechanical persuasion 5 minutes after he dropped me off.

Don’t trust these liars and cheaters. They tired my car and scratches up the front bumper and rear diffuser. They also jammed gravel into the muffler by dripping the car at too steep of an angles off the back of the flat bed. They also broke a rude height sensor and refused to take any responsibility! No one would return my calls once they realized I had evidence of the damage being done by them. Now I have to claim it on my insurance and have them to sue these criminals. You’re better off choosing anyone else! Do not let them touch your car! Edit. I tried for weeks to talk to them. Don’t let their hollow reply make you think they actually care. They ignored me and only responded once I left a review. The owner and manager are both untrustworthy and don’t deserve your business!

I had this company towed me yesterday. The dispatcher/call taker was kind and thorough. The driver called just before arrival and arrived promptly and got my car towed to my destination quickly and proficiently. He looked professional and the truck looked fantastic. The price was very reasonable for the short tow. Really sucks my car broke down but this company got my day back on track quickly, I would definitely recommend their services.

Kennedy got my Jeep Liberty out of a tight spot in Downtown Portland, a truly impressive parallel park job, and gave me a 30 minute ride out to Gray. Absolutely delightful dude, really top notch service. If your car needs a tow that’s a bad day, but if Southern Maine and Kennedy show up, it will at least be a bad day made better with quality service.

This company is great weather its for a lock out or for a tow. I have used this company a total of 4 times in a year. Two for a lock out and Two for a tow. I had Joe once and David three times. Joe is great and quick at a lock out to get yo keys from inside your vechial when your sleep deprived boyfriend locks them in the truck to get his damn debit card. David is also amazing! Hes done one lock out and towed my truck twice. He is super friendly and funny and super sweet as well as super communicative! He seemed to always tell us some storied or jokes while loading the truck! He also went above and beyond and told me what was wrong with my truck as well as even went out of the way to call my friend that he was dropping my truck off to to get fixed! I hope I do not need to use you guys anytime soon but if I do I know you guys are the cheapest and most reliable even on nights You're short staffed and in a hunch! Thank you for your help when it is needed! :)

Requested roadside assistance through my car insurance company’s app to help get my spare tire on (the flat tire wouldn’t come off despite getting the lug nuts removed). Drew arrived just on time and had the job done in under 10 minutes. In the past, I’d had such an unforgettably-negative experience with another towing company in the Portland area, that I labored in vain on getting the flat changed myself for an hour longer than I should have before reaching out for help. The help I received from Southern Maine Towing was so prompt and painless that I consider my opinion of roadside assistance businesses to be fully redeemed! Should I need help again, there’s no question I’ll be in touch with them again without any delay whatsoever.

Wayne was fantastic. He was communicative and gave me a heads up text about 15 minutes before arriving. When he arrived he was friendly, asked what was going on with my car and took a few minutes to troubleshoot himself. He ended up working some magic and got my car back up and running. I still needed the tow, Wayne and his trainee Rick were quick and efficient, got my car loaded on the flat bed and towed it all within a few minutes of getting it back up and running. The entire experience was impressive. From the ease of initial engagement to the competency of dispatch. From the outset communication was prompt, the time frames I was given were very reasonable and the timings quoted to me were accurate (they were indeed earlier than expected.) When the tech, Jeff, arrived he was wonderfully friendly, professional, knowledgeable, helpful with advice, very good and quick at his job, and was an excellent communicator. Yes they came promptly but even though I told my insurance that my Mother needs a wheelchair, Southern Maine Towing gave us no accommodation for that, at first saying that they weren’t told, then that they had no solutions if they had been told. Had to push my Mom in a wheelchair from the busy highway to service station. “Only” .2 miles feels a lot heavier pushing a human being through dirt with no sidewalks. Truly let us down in an emergency and then when the driver dropped off car, heard him say to the service tech that he needed a “strong drink”. Sorry my car problem inconvenienced the guy driving a tow truck!

Just incredible! My car suddenly stopped working in the morning. Couldn’t get it going. Called around to my usual mechanics but couldn’t get in until next week. Working on the road I need my vehicle. Called southern Maine towing at 9am, they picked it up by 11am, mechanic was working on it by noon. They fixed the issue and even were able to do an oil change/tire rotation for me. All before 3:00pm! From Rick the tow truck driver who expertly handled my vehicle with great care to Dustin who completed quality work and was transparent about the issues and pricing. I thought my car would be down for the week leaving me struggling for work. Instead, I got out of it with my car in better shape than I expected. Thank you so much Southern Maine towing!

This tow company was dispatched by my insurance company. Within several minutes the driver. Wayne texted he will be there in 15-20 minutes. He arrived in 20 minutes. Which is amazingly fast. Upon arrival. I went outside to give him the key fob. He greeted me and asked what the car was doing. He quickly loaded the vehicle onto the flatbed and told me. He will get it over to the repair shop and bring the key fob inside to the service department. I thanked him and off he went. Wayne was very polite and professional. And was genuinely concerned that my car was busted. He is so courteous and kind at 7am dealing with a sad car owner. Wayne. You are awesome. Jeff saved the day when we unexpectedly needed a tow in the middle of moving 155 miles from where we were living. He showed up within an hour of the request, and delivered our truck exactly where we needed it to go, and communicated with us all along the way so we knew where everything was. We were so thankful. An unexpected tow halfway across the state is not ideal for a vehicle owner or a tow truck driver I’m sure. But he came through with a great attitude and made the entire process so easy. Highly recommend Southern Maine Towing!
